What phone will you go to next?

The Pure is an awesome phone. It has been my favorite and could be perfect with a bit better battery life.

Time marches on and I can't say I am enthused with the new Moto line coming out. Also not sure about Lenovo.

It just doesn't feel right that Moto is no longer American.

So what are you folks planning on going to next?

I would love a stripped down Sony or HTC. Not keen on Samsung. Apple, only if they offer a model with stock Android[emoji13].

Thoughts?

One plus 3 vs Nexus M1 / S1 (the next nexus)

I have LG G2 - D802.
I'm considering an upgrade.
The problems with the One plus 3 as I see it:
1) Pixels density is lower than the G2 - a three years old phone
2) Has a mono speaker while the G2 has stereo (minor issue)
3) Body to screen ratio - lower than the G2
I saw on xda some complaints about GPS and Wifi problems on the one plus 3.
I'm guessing some issues will pop up soon (One plus is less reliable than LG / Samsung / HTC.... IMHO)

What I like on the one plus 3 is the massive roms and developments.

What do you say, should I wait for the next nexus on October or go for the One plus 3?

What next for my TF700?

Hi all!

I managed (with much help from the folks here at XDA) to unlock and root my tablet almost as soon as I bought it (used on eBay,).

I started with Cromi-X , then Combi Xenogenesis followed by Crombi-KK.

There I stayed for many months. About a month ago my tablet became increasingly unusable. I had ANRs galore, spontaneous reboots, extreme lag and just plain freeze-ups.

I searched around and it seemed that KatKiss 5.1.1_30 was the latest available ROM that wasn't in release candidate status.

I installed it (via TWRP 2.8.4.0) after a full wipe and reformatting /Data to F2FS.

I've been running this way for a week and I'm very happy so far.

My goal is to have the fastest smoothest tablet I can have consistent with stability.

I don't care about having the latest greatest version of Android. I don't theme or really modify the looks of my tablet.

I am wondering if it is worth pursuing several additional changes:

Would ROM2SD and/or Data2SD really make a noticeable difference?
How fast would my SD Card have to be to make the attempt worthwhile?

Is there any particular reason for me to upgrade to the latest TWRP?

Is KatKiss 6.0 better, smoother, faster or more stable than what I'm running now?

I'd really appreciate any guidance folks would care to offer. Links to appropriate threads are of course welcome.

I've already found threads on how to do the things I'm thinking about but not so much on whether it's worth the effort.

adTHANKSvance!!

Strange light next to camera

Hello guys,
I foun a strange red "light" next to my front camera. Will upload a picture very soon, but has someone an idea, what it is? It is red, but only lights up, if screen is locked. When the screen is off, or unlocked the "light" is off to.
I have not found something similar here...
Please tell me it is not dangerous :D

Help! Officially Unlocked Bootloader. Whats next?

I have a few questions.

1. Do I need to root the phone separately using super su? Or just flashing twrp will do the job?

2. Do I need different super su zip files for different roms ? Or any super su file will work?

3. Whats the best stable rom right now? [ Miui or any custom ]

Redmi Note 4 will be the next flagship Xiaomi samples, metal frame and dual cameras

Dual cameras are becoming the trend design manufacturers smart phones and of course also no exception Xiaomi. More information for advanced phones that redmi upcoming Note 4 will have a metal frame and dual camera.
New images have been revealed also partly confirmed the authenticity of the information on, redmi Note 4 can be arranged 2 cameras with larger sensors in the longitudinal direction and LED flash in the middle, instead of horizontally like most camera phones now double.

Part designed as images, frames will be made of curved metal claws on each side at the back, volume up key phrases placed on the right side.

Of course can not be confirmed by leaked images have exactly the redmi Note 4 or not, but the probability is very high. Because if compared with previous redmi Note 3 both have similarities, only behind fingerprint sensor has been replaced by cameras. If accurate information, redmi Note 4 will have the home button integrated fingerprint sensor?

Next Flappy Bird? Addictive game mechanic I made for my Free Game, Block Hopp.

Hey guys,

So I spent a lot of time thinking of ways to create fresh and addictive game play and I think I hit something.

My new game, Block Hopp, available free on both the iOS and Android app store uses a tap to hold mechanic to jump across platforms and achieve as high of a score as possible.

In the game there is a block which can be charged by simply keeping your finger on the screen. The block changes color as it charges and the more it charges, the farther it jumps when you let go.

The objective is to get as far as possible by jumping across floating platforms in the air and obtaining a high score.

This endless arcade-style game has been proven to be very addictive for people who have tested it, and I want to know what everybody thinks.
Cheers!

[DISCUSSION] So now you're rooted. What's next?

So, many of us have used the released Engineering Bootloader and have gained glorious root. But what does that really mean for users now? Some of us are stoked about being able to finally block ads with AdAway. Others are looking forward to using Xposed again.

What does root mean for you? What cool apps or toolkits do you utilize with root? I want this to be a useful thread for people new to rooting in Marshmallow or just rooting in general. Post your setup and apps and explain a little bit about why you use them.

What's your next device? Note 7 or something else?

I'm assuming a lot of you are like me, and have had the Note 4 close to 2 years now- close to paid for... wondering if anyone is considering getting a Note 7 or something else and why?

I was all excited about upgrading to a Note 7 but the limited research I've done based on the S7 is the bootloader will probably be locked meaning no root, no roms, etc... so now I'm not sure if I just stick it out a while long with my Note 4 or look elsewhere for another device? (nexus ###?)

Comments appreciated.

Upgrade to OP3 now or wait for the next nexus?

Im in sort of a mid life crisis. I currently own a Nexus 6 but I want a more beefy phone. The N6 is great and all but its starting to lag, battery is degrading, and the front camera sucks. I really like the nexus line and I have never owned a OP device. From the rumors im seeing the next nexus should be pretty damn good, so to all of you who own the OP3, are you happy with the purchase? Would you recommend buying it or should I just wait? Thanks!

How to use different grid sizes at the same time (4x4 on home and 5x5 on next screen)

I'm on a Samsung Note 5 and I've been trying to make my widgets more readable by having them on a 4x4 grid sized screen, but I really like the room that I get for my app icons on the 5x5 screens. Is there any way that I can have both going on at the same time?
I'm rooted and on BreakDown's DPD1 v2.1 rom. I've got Xposed and have tried many different apps from the Play Store, Xposed, etc. I've also tried apps that change the DPI setting of my apps, and they do help with my widgets, but they ruin the app when I open them. For example, I can't reach the "Delete" button in Evernote because the DPI settings have made it sink under the screen. It makes the widget just the right size though. No 3rd party launcher seems to be able to do what I want either. I thought Zen UI could, but the grid size option is only for the app drawer and not the homescreen.
Ideally, I'd like for there to be a button or setting that let's me change the grid size on a per screen basis, instead of the universal setting that there is now.

oneplus 3 response to next update!

So this is the reply I got from oneplus.
