Mi 5 pro vs redmi note 3

Hey everyone, i had recently bought a S7 edge and now unfortunately the screen is shattered. Being a new phone the screen is bloody expensive and costing around 1100 aed (UAE dirham). So I am thinking of replacing it once the device is a little older. In the mean time I want a spare phone. Confused between Mi 5 (1400 aed) vs Redmi Note 3 (650 aed).

My usage is very basic - social networking (fb and whatsapp), movie streaming (cinema box/show box/kodi), casting youtube etc on my smart tv and spotify. I play no games (android games are full of adware).

So guys do you think i should shell double the money for a Mi 5 pro? I just expect the phone to run smoothly and not lag much.
Why am I thinking about Xiaomi?
Basically for Miui. it resembles a lot like a jailbroken iPhone and that's the major attraction (themes and stuff).

Redmi 3 (NOT Note or Pro) without MIUI?

Is there a way to use the Redmi 3 without Miui? Its not a bad OS, its just to bloated.

I would much prevere the stock andorid, ir something very lightweight.

I already checked out with Cyanogen Mod, but they said, they are NOT supporting the Redmi 3.

So can I run a stock Android on the Redmi 3 without having issues? Or can you advise some other roms?

Help needed. Redmi note 3 snapdragon no sound

Hye. Need someone expert on this. My device got problem on sounds. This happens when i plug in 3.5mm audio jack to my speaker. Suddenly my device reboot loop on mi logo. Flash RR custom rom and its booting but cannot call or play any sound from audio file or video. Already flash with miflash also no luck. Just reboot loop on mi logo. Battery consumption also going crazy. Less than 5 hours without doing anything. And fevice feel warm always.

-2% battery bug after flashing AOSP 5.1.1 for Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (kenzo)

So, i unlocked my redmi note 3 bootloader and flashed twrp. Then I wiped data and installed the rom but now I have -2% battery bug showing. How can I fix this?

Hey guys! I'm looking for a rom with a good battery! I used to have MIUI global stable and the battery was pretty awesome but i really prefer purer Android and i cant stand MIUI look (no offense)

Xiaomi Redmi Note 1W - Stuck on boot screen & more..

I am recently stuck in a pickle. I recently rooted my Xiaomi Redmi Note. Things were fantastic till I noticed I had an update for SuperSU which is a Superuser access management tool. I updated and a message came up asking if I should start normally or if I should start in TWRP. I accidentally hit TWRP and I currently don't have any TWRP to boot in recovery mode. No when I turn on my phone it shows the emblem then the screens backlight is on but it is all black. I have tried booting in recovery mode but it does the same thing. If anyone could help it would really make my day. Thanks. :)

Don't buy MediaTek Version of Xiaomi Redmi Pro

For anybody who (maybe) will buy the Redmi Pro... Xiaomi also sell phones in India, but they can not sell MediaTek devices, so the need a Snapdragon version, like on the Redmi Note 3.
I just post this to warn you, if you never had a Xiaomi device before. Just wait a lil bit and you will get a better version for the same price.

ASK : redmi note 3 - no option to save to email in contact

Hi, i just update my distributor ROM to 7.1.8 via SP Tool and when I tried to save contact there are no option to choose from drop down list to which email (picture attached). Then I updated it to 7.5.1 via OTA and still the same problem. I already login to google account in my device. So that make me confused.

Hope to get solution from you guys.

[Help!] How to disable FP scanner on Redmi Note 3 Pro (kenzo) ???

How can I disable the Redmi Note 3 Pro fingerprint scanner in the firmware or in the OS kernel?

P.S. The problem is that I want to use ported Redmi Note 3 Special Edition (kate) MIUI 7 Global 7.3.9 for kenzo, but it has a big problem with FP scanner, so I need to disable it somehow. How can I do it?

xiaomi redmi note 3g rooted but after supersu my mobile show black screen

I have a problem here. My Redmi Note 3g is showing blank screen .i Root my phone and When I open superSU, it was asked me to update .... (I forget the term) binary and there were 2 options, normal and TWRP/CWM. Then, I choose the second one. After that, the phone displayed blank dark screen.

I need help from all of you to fix this problem.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S chinese to global ROM

Hello guys, time ago flashed a redmi 3 to global rom, very easy with rom and tool to flash (download mode ).

For the redmi 3S what i need ? There is another kind of global rom?

Someone can reply with a link with guide, i try to search on the forum but not find or im not sure what i find!

redmi 3 pro touch lags while charging

-i recently got redmi 3 pro silver cover.
-figure out some problem/bug, that it's touch lags while charging.( it had miui 7 v7.2.1). touch becomes very laggy while charging. i have to try number of times to unlock my lock pattern. While scroling, randomly apps open. keypad needs to be pressed really hard to type.
-at first i thoght its because of charger and used samsung, and lg charger but the problem was same.
-i thought its because of rom, so flashed china stable rom( v7.5.1) and still the problem was same.
-i reported to the xiaomi care and service centre here in my country.
-they inspected the phone and replaced my phone with another golden colour. But the problem is still the same with this one as well.
-i unlocked my bootloader and installed custom recovery. i installed european version(from xiaomi.eu) rom v7.5.1 and still the problem is same.
-i tried cleaning my cache/delvik cache in recovery to see if that could help, but nothing,

Sim bug in cm13 redmi note 3

I have a redmi note 3 with cm13 everything is working except that the sim is not being detected.can pls help me?? I have download the latest build and pico package arm 64 and followed every step

Selecting specific network bands in redmi note 3?

We have option to choose network modes in MIUI and other custom ROM's but there is no option to choose specific Network Band .
I have tried dialing code *#*#4636#*#* but in "set preferred network type" under phone information, there is no option to choose network band like specific LTE bands (TDD LTE or FDD LTE ) .

If anyone knows how to select specific network bands . Please do help.

Best Custom ROM For Redmi Note 3?

There are so much Custom ROMS for Redmi Note 3. But all of those are much similar to each another there's nothing new in there:eek::rolleyes:, not even any unique features:(. SO THIS IS A REQUEST TO DEVELOPERS TO PLEASE MAKE SOMETHING NEW & UNIQUE. I KNOW THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO WANT THIS, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE.
And meanwhile if anyone can suggest me a good custom ROM for our Beast RN3:confused:. That would be very thankful:angel::highfive::good:.
