As my title says has anyone succesfully used the device unlock app after rooting their phone.if so what did you do

Xperia C no green light detected as Serial Device

I rooted Xperia C and installed CMW with Mobile Uncle Tools. Something went terribly wrong and since then the phone is dead. I have tried possibly all the ways on the internet to connect it to my PC (Windows 10) in download mode to use either Sony Companion or wmshua to flash the stock rom but the problem is it isn't detected. All I get under device manager is a Serial Device (COM4) under Ports even though the light is still red on the phone and another thing I have noticed is that it keeps disconnecting and connecting again and again. I have tried installing various drivers, but no luck!
Can you guys please help me out?

Rooting my 4.3 device with the 4.1 rooting file?

my current version is 4.3 official firmware, and I want to root it, but on Chainfire's website it says that the file is for Android 4.1:

Does that mean that this root will only work for 4.1, or it should work for any version that is also above 4.1?

Bricked Note 3, Odin won't recognize device

So I'm trying to fix a friends bricked note 3, however Odin v3.07 will not recognize the device. I've downloaded samsung kies, however its still not working, not even my PC would recognize the device. The cable and ports are definitely not the issue, since my other phone can be recognized. Any help would be appreciated, thanks :).

Hi, I 've been searching for app that can unlock my phone when I hold the home button but still to have a pin or password ( like fake fingerprint scanner :D) .

Cannot clone device or create new hardware profile

I just started learning android studio from thenewboston but I'm stuck with this problem.I cant clone a device or create a new hardware profile from the avd manager.It shows an error message saying "null".I'm able to click next,finish and also select devices.Yes I did try cloning by right clicking the phone profile too but I got the same error.It does open the explorer to import hardware profiles though.Please help me for free kappa!(seriously please help me)

Cannot see my device under ADB devices

Hey guys,

I have been looking for solutions for 3days now and can't find it.

My phone is showing under device manager both when its on, and when in adb mode without exclamation mark.
I had SDK 24.4.1 installed, installed everything needed (I think) (Platforms, usb drivers,..)
Flashtool drivers installed, it shows device in fastboot devices but not in adb devices..

When I open CMD in admin mode, I cd to the platform tools folder and do 'Adb devices' It does not show.
I tried Adb kill-server not working, daemon starts succesfull but nothing shows under adb devices.

Also tried a different pc, same outcome.

Running windows 10

I hope its something really stupid I'm forgetting..

Music player that uses the device default theme?

I know music player questions arw a bit saturated, but I am looking for a music player that uses the default Android theme (that is, stock Samsung theme on TW phones, Holo in AOSP 4.x and Material on 5.x+). The reason is, I appreciate harmony in design, and when I am using an Holo-themed ROM I get annoyed by the fact that the Material Design is somewhat "enforced".

As far as I've searched I've got nothing close to my need, so I wondered if XDA folks could help me on this.

Device help draining battery

So I checked out the update for the Help app which had the tests for all these device functions, one of which was GPS. And since then it has been consuming battery life. The day after I tested it consumed over 50% of battery. I have cleared data, disabled and uninstalled updates to it and yet it still consumes some battery. Any idea why? And how to fix?

Latest RMA Device Issue with Voice Calls

Hello Everyone,

So, over the last month, I've had to RMA my 6P for various reasons. Mind you, I had experienced no issues whatsoever with my phone before. I loved it--up until seemingly the May update. My first RMA was due to an apparently known issue with the headphone jack. With my headset plugged in and the phone in a pocket, when I'd come into contact with the the headset wire, it would cause my music (streamed via Google Play Music) to pause mid-song. I would then fiddle with the wire, and the song would resume. Also, sometimes while playing a song, Google Now would annoyingly trigger constantly. If I was on a voice call with the phone in my pocket, contact with the top of the wire would either mute the call, or end it all together. It didn't matter if I initiated the call to a mobile number or a landline, or if the other party was calling from their mobile number or landline.

Anyway, I initiated my first RMA, and the device I received took care of whatever was causing the issue. However, I'm now experiencing yet another issue with voice calls. This latest issue occurs completely at random during any voice call, where the other party cannot hear me. Again, this also happens whether I initiate the call to a mobile number, or a landline, or the other party calls me on the device via their mobile number or landline.

I was offered another RMA, which I received on the 28th. Upon completing my set up, I noticed crackling in the speakers when I adjusted the volumes. I tested out Play Music, and it persisted. So, I contacted Support, and was offered yet another RMA, which I was told would be processed once the faulty device was received. I sent out that device on Thursday. I contacted Support again yesterday, and followed the usual troubleshooting steps to try and fix the issue on the device again, and upon explaining in detail, I was told that I may continue to have this latest issue with voice calls, because of an issue with the network I'm on (T-Mobile Prepaid plan).

One thing I did notice was the build date of each phone. My original 6P was built on October 31st, as is the device in my possession now. The device I sent back because of the crackling speakers had a build date of October 21st.

So, here I am, just waiting for word that they've received the device I sent back, so they can process my third RMA. The question is, what in the world is causing this latest issue? I don't know if it's an issue with the hardware, software, or my SIM card (which I got from T-Mobile free of charge when I first got my original device in December). Is there a way to ask for a phone with a later build date, or am I doomed to keep recycling refurbs built in October? Support assured me that the next device would be checked to ensure all functions well, but I'm concerned I'll just keep going back and forth with them. Not that Google Support hasn't been accommodating, but it *is* frustrating. I was planning on going into a local T-Mobile store today to get a new nano SIM to see if that might help, but I wanted to ask for the opinions of those more well-versed than I first before I went ahead.

Any knowledge, help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Moving accounts from one device to another?

In a bit of a bad situation, and it is an oversight on my part but also from a legitimate amnesia issue so be gentle

I am moving from an S4 to a new phone but a lot of accounts (an email, twitter, instagram.. some others) are linked to a dead email (a domain I had and let drop), and I've lost the password (to both the accounts and the emails), and I'll lose them forever if I can't move them to my new one.


Horrible issue but I need to turn my old phone in to AT*T within the week so I don't have time to contact sites for support on this. If I can maintain temporary access through a move to my new phone I'll be content and finally work with contacting these sites to update the information on these.

Does Androids Tap & Go move accounts like that without requiring password re-entry? What do I do?

I do have root on my S4 if Titanium Backup is the way to go.

Samsung grand 2 Hard bricked device

i had my Samsung grand 2 G-1702 hard bricked while installing recovery.
unfortunately, i installed incompatible version of recovery with TWRP, The process goes wrong.
there is no more boot, the screen always off, no charging indicator ...
when connected to PC gives unrecognized device, no boot to recovery or download mode ...

Need help after I rooted my device (knox 0x0 ?!, system isn't responding... )

I rooted my device G850F 5.0.2 for the first time with Kingroot (never rooted a device before), success after 3 times trying to root and here is what I faced:

1-Knox still 0x0 after Kingroot asked me to disable it and I choosed Cancel, which is good i'm still on warranty but weird (root success)

2-"System isn't responding" popup with Wait or Stop options every time I restart my phone, I have to remove the battery, wait 10 sec then it works fine.

3-tried many times to change systemui, I changed the systemui.apk permissions to 0644 I want, overwrite it and deleted arm file with root explorer but no success, background black, notification panel disappears, tried to fix with "rom customizer" to install the original systemui.apk but didn't work, I had to flash stock rom using Odin.

I spend too much time researching before I do anything (looks like still noob after all that time -_-')
Please someone explain 1 and help with 2 and 3 problems

How can I unroot my device safely?

I want to bring my phone back to normal mode. Buy normal mode I mean I want to basically bring my phone back to the beginning/stock. I want to receive OTA's, every latest updates. I don't want root anymore, none of that, I want my phone back to normal/stock.

So how could I do this without messing anything up? - My Nexus 5 device is only rooted, it is not running on any ROM, it has TWRP Recovery, and that's about it.. I'm bored and tired of root and want to go back to normal.

I Can't root my Samsung Device

Hello! i don't know if this is the correct forum to post this content, but iI am facing a problem to do root in my Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Neo. I'm going to tell the story: First I was trying to install with android rom 5.0 on my phone (which was with root working perfectly), (I couldn't find a rom compatible), but before you look for the rom, I decided to install the recovery of Clockword Mod, that has not been successfully installed, and my smartphone doesn't leave the splash screen, and I was unable to access the recovery (a red exclamation point appeared in the upper left corner) so I decided to download the original rom of my smartphone and install with odin, but I still couldn't access the recovery, so I extract the recovery.img file of rom, converted to .tar.md5 and installed with odin, worked perfectly, however I still can't perform the root, I always used the kingo root, and always worked, but not this time I tested other software and apk's, none managed to finish the process. It bothers me a lot because my smartphone has android 4.4.4 and has access to the sd card only for apps, system that gets in the way too much. Well, is that there is still a solution for this problem? Grateful in advance!!

[HELP] I Can't get phone to show up in Android Device Manager

I've tried following the guide I found below but still couldn't get it to show up. It comes up in the play store settings but not ADM. My location is turned on high accuracy and my gps functions completely fine. Next thing I'll try is a full factory wipe but I hope it doesn't come to that.
Anyone have an idea?

Clear data for the following apps:
Play Store
Download Manager
Google Services Framework
Restart your phone.

Fire up the Play Store app.
Wait for the device to show again on the web Play Store. It will appear under Settings > Devices. It may take a half-hour to several hours to appear.
When your phone has shown up in the Play Store with the date registered as today's date, proceed with the next steps, but not before.

Open Google Settings from your device's apps menu.
Touch Android Device Manage(security).
Uncheck Allow remote factory reset.
Go to your device's main Settings menu, then touch Apps > All > Google Play services.
Touch Clear Data. Note that this action doesn't remove personal data.
Go back to Google Settings and Security and select Allow remote factory reset.
Restart your device.

Just remember do this in order, also only do this on devices which are not showing in ADM app and wait till you see device on web at play store devices before completing stick to the order.
