i just bought the 16GB version and the moto g as you know has an excellent battery experience but when i opened it and just did some startup settings for like 10 minutes i noticed that the battery drains so fast! 2% every minute or something, is this thing normal? because it's its first use?

First: Firmware update or unlock Bootloader?
I'll get my Honor 7 the next days.
In the past I've rooted all my phones (till now I use a Honor 6), so I'll do this with the new one, too. I found several good threads, but one question is open:
Is it better to make the firmware update first (I think it will be send with Lollipop) or should I start with Bootloader Unlock?
Thanks in advance

first time installing custom rom
Hello everybody!
so a while ago i got a sgs3 i9300 with the official rom 4.1 now i wanted to flash marshmallow (CM13).
WHAT I'VE TRIED
- rooting using kingroot (no success on 50% my samsung turned itself off)
- using odin to flash a new ROM: cm-13.0-20160722-NIGHTLY-i9300.zip with the recovery: TWRP - 3.0.2-1-i9300.img.tar
nothing did work
fired odin up with admin rights then i got in download mode using (Vol. down + home button + power button) plugged my usb cable into the phone pressed Vol. up plugged usb into laptop and in odin it should say added or something but that didn't happen so moving on i selected the twrp and then i got this message: all threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0). What did i do wrong???
what i used a walkthrough because i really suck at things like this. walkthrough: youtube.com/watch?v=xRHRP5TfOvc
or can you guys point me into a different direction?
thank you already for looking into this.

Very very confused about rooting first gen kindle fire on Mac OSX
Guys I had bought my first gen kindle on release day and was able to root it shortly afterward with no problems. Fast forward several years later and my kindle has been updated to 6.3.4 and it seems like if you want to root your first gen kindle on a mac it feels very daunting/overwhelming.
Can anyone help me root my first gen kindle through mac osx? I would be eternally grateful!
I was able to install fastboot and adb using the terminal but how do I get the android OS onto my kindle?

The model of my phone is SM-N910V
android version 6.0.1
So I been reading a lot of the thread on the forum and saw that there were many ways to root the 5.1.1 version. Unfortunately I updated my phone to MM 6.0.1.
What is the process to root my phone?
Can I somehow load the 5.1.1 version? then unlock the bootlocker and root my phone?
any advise will be appreciated, thanks

Touchscreen problem - On first touch reboot
Hello, for abou two months I have installed the JDC AOSP firmware on my phone. I encountered many faults and bugs on this rom, and the best of all was the sd corrupt and the last days wasn't even opening. When i touched the screen it was rebooting, so i decided to go back on officiak firmware. I installed two different official firmwares but still the problem remains. On the first touch it reboots. What could possibly go wrong? thank you

Help taking first step to rom my new smartphone
Hello,
I got my G2 two days ago (used), i come from an htc one m7, i use to unstall all kinds of custom roms and recoveries, but scrolling through this forum i can't seem to understand the best way to install TWRP and rom the phone.
WHAT I HAVE :
- verizon LG G2 completely stock non rooted, software verison 3AA
WHAT I WANT :
-install latest TWRP to be able to install custom roms like cm13
WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND :
-Some tutorials mention something about flashing bootstacks, others tell me to root then install twrp directly using some app
-i presume that my software version 3AA is greater than 39A, the latest bootstack is made for 39A so will it cause a problem if i flash that bootstacks ?
all explanations will be appreciated

Contacts sync with car - first name only
All,
I'm syncing my contacts from exchange on my OP3. When I connect my phone via BT with my car, the contacts are being synced, but both firstname and lastname are found under firstname in the car.
This isn't a big issue, but I can't sort my contacts in the car on Last Name (as this field is empty everywhere). I'm not sure if this is Oxygen OS or OP3 specific, but I didn't have the problem with the previous phone (Nexus 5).
Any ideas how I can sort this out ?

TV shows "chromecast..." on first time setup at the bottom of the screen
I bought a Chromecast device. When I tried to setup it, it showed "chromecast..." at the bottom of the screen and after about 3-5 seconds it goes back to the No Signal screen. The Chromecast is connected to a MINI HDMI2AV Adapter that is connected to the RCA port on my TV. Is there a way to fix it?

First time Rooting, vs98611a, advice? Should I update first or stick with 11a?
So, I've never rooted a phone before, a tablet yes, but that was almost 10 years ago. I can follow instructions, and am technically literate, but I'm worried about bricking my phone, so simple is better. Basicly I have an verizon LG G4 that I want to root. Primarily because I need to do some GPS spoofing, and mobile hotspot stuff. The version is 11a, Should I be trying to update that first? or is there a guide out there somewhere? I've found this thread
Is this what I'm looking for?
I'm not sure if my software version matters or will limit my root options in anyway. Thanks in advance!

[TEMP-ROOT] First public root ZTE Z793C
By rooting your device your warranty is void. if you into it it it is OK
APP2SD WILL NOT WORK ON TEMP ROOT. A BRICK IS POSSIBLE!!!
I am a huge fan of exploits for devices which do not require a computer. Here is the first public temp root for the ZTE ATRIUM Z793C (Usually a straight talk phone).
I AM CURRENTLY PORTING CWM RECOVERY AND ROMS FOR THIS DEVICE WHICH WILL RESULT IN A. PERMANENT ROOT
Required:
1: King root (NOT KINGOROOT) HTTP://kingroot.net/
2: a ZTE Z793C (duh)
3: Patience
4: Brains.
Steps IN ORDER!!!
1. Enable developer options by going into settings, about and clicking build number a whole bunch of times.
2: enable USB Debugging by going into developer options.
3: enable unknown sources.
4: Install King root.
5: launch King root and follow instructions until you get the button that says "root"
6: Let it fail.
7: open settings, apps. And click all.
8: scroll all the way down then start going up slowly to find Task Manager. Click force stop.
9: go to downloaded and select King root and clear cache.
10: power off, then power on (DO NOT REBOOT!!)
11: Open King root click root.
12a: Wait until it reached 11% then quickly POWER OFF the device.
12b: Wait for 15 seconds.
13: Power on the device.
14: Open King root.
IF YOUR KINGROOT APP STARTED ROOTING WITHOUT CLICKING ANYTHING GO TO STEP 15: IF IT DID NOT GO TO STEP 16.
15: Your device is not rooting. It should go to about 26 percent then speed up. You have access to go on and and type SU as well.
IF YOUR DEVICE GAVE YOU PROCESS STOPPED ERRORS GO TO SETTINGS THEN APPS AND CLEAR THE CACHE FOR KINGROOT AND POWER DOWN YOUR DEVICE AND GO TO STEP 12b!!!
YOU ARE ROOTED!!!
16: So, your at the screen to click root? Well, click it! It might work. If not clear the app cache and go back to step1.
IF YOUR DEVICE GAVE YOU PROCESS STOPPED ERRORS GO TO SETTINGS THEN APPS AND CLEAR THE CACHE FOR KINGROOT AND POWER DOWN YOUR DEVICE AND GO TO STEP 12b!!!
YOU ARE ROOTED!!
THIS METHOD WILL UNROOT ITSELF AFTER:
Installing a new app.
Rebooting.
Plugging in to a charging outlet. ADB is okay.
Any questions? Feel free to comment! If it did not work, comment.

First time custom ROM - I can't get it work
Hello, I've never flashed phones before, so I might have just make some obvious mistake, that I'm not aware of.
After using my XPS 4.3 for over 2 years it started lagging, so I wanted to switch to some custom ROM.
First I wanted to try XperianZe v3.0.5 , but after 2 days of constant fails, anything will do.
First I wanted to root, but Towelroot doesn't work for me (I'm currently staying in China, so I suspect it might be the Great Firewall of China blocking it's connection attempts), but I found another way. I downloaded newest Flashtools (0.9.22.0) and ftf images from the post, but flashtools doesn't see them, so I downloaded an older version of Flashtools (0.9.18.6) and flashed the kernel which made my phone fall into a bootloop. I downloaded whole image C5303_12.0.A.2.254_CE.ftf of stock version 4.1, flashed C530X_12.0.A.1.257 kernel on top of it, and run DooMLoRD script, which gave me root access.
Now I installed CWM from here and copied XperianZeV3.zip to internal storage. I disconnected my phone, entered recovery, factory reseted and chose install from zip. It doesn't matter which recovery I used: CWM Touch/ TWRP/ Philz - all gave the same result:
This is latest version of CWM_SP_4.4.1 that I could find.
Unable to bypass this problem I decided to unlock bootloader and while doing so get MoKee Marshmallow 60.1 . But Sony website told me that my particular phone cannot be unlocked. I tried to unlock it anyway, but fastboot doesn't see my device when it eneters flash-boot (and automatically exits after some time). I couldn't install Flashtool drivers, because of some error with no message, it might be because of Windows 10, maybe? Anyway as I understand from this tutorial there's no unofficial way of unlocking my phone.
The only thing that I found about Status 7 problem is to update CWM (but I'm using latest one, aren't I?), tell the cellphone to ignore the problem (but I'm afraid of bricking it). I don't really understand what is this problem related to, other that name change between Kitkat and earlier systems, but I don't know how to make it work.
Am I just doing something wrong?

First timer trying to port CyanogenMod on new device
Hello,
My device is a Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 830f running stock Lollipop 5.0 at the moment. Bootloader unlocked and permanent TWRP recovery.
I am trying to learn about Android development while building CM13 for this device. I am using the following as my references:
I have the following questions:
* What exactly are we supposed to do with the files in the archive supplied by Lenovo?
* Why did Olivier start porting CM12.1 instead of CM13? Also, why x86 instead of x86_64?
* Is there any agreed-upon device configuration I should be using for this Baytrail tablet? How about this BoardConfig.mk for Minnowboard Max from Intel Android-IA?
The CyanogenMod porting guide is not exactly specific on any particular strategy how to set up the BoardConfig.mk and other files in ./device/. I get it that it's trial and error for the most part, but is there any general guideline I should be following?
I expect this learning experience to take at least a couple of months, so I'll be keeping this thread open for more questions as soon as I have them.
