Kindle Fire HDX 7" 3rd Generation 64gb Boot Loop please help me!

Please help. My kindle Fire won't start. I power it on, and the white, static kindle fire logo comes on, then the screen goes black (but the screen is on, there is a slight glow to it).

My computer won't recognise it via usb, and I tried a factory reset in the recovery menu. Is there any way to fix it?

I think the problem might be that I edit the 'hosts' file in the root folder, to try and get google play working, and may have done this wrong.

Please help, and I thank you all a ton.

Can someone please upload the stock version of the Kindle app?

I mistakenly deleted the stock Kindle reading app in the Amazon Fire. Now no other version works. I tried installing from the Play Store, but it closes immediately after opening. I tried also with older versions and the result is the same. Only thing left is to try to reinstall the stock version, to see if it works again. Can someone please upload the .apk? I'd appreciate it.

Semi-Bricked Kindle Fire HD 7

So while flashing TWRP to my kindle fire HD I messed it up and now have a device stuck on boot.
When i plug the factory cable in it does nothing. When i hold the power down with factory cable
in I get it connected as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. From here it wont register anything from adb or fastboot.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Tethering to Kindle Fire from Samsung Note 4

I recently bought a kindle fire for my kid. We currently do not have a home isp. So I figure turn on the hotspot on my Samsung Note 4 share it's Internet connection to download some apps and games for him. Trying to figure out why downloading apps from the kindle is so slow when using my phone as a Hotspot. It's not even bearable. (0.05kbs) I also can tell that Web surfing, and downloading files are just as slow. Whats strange is that I can play videos fine without any buffer problems. A speed test app says I'm getting over 15mbs. While a speed test on Google Chrome says 0.05 kbs. Any helpful info would be helpful! Thank you.

TWRP for Kindle

I have a Kindle Fire 7' 2015, and I rooted it on the version fire os 5.1.2. After doing that I got flash fire, and I flashed to the Fire Nexus rom(thanks to ggow). I want to get twrp, and I was wondering if there is anyway I can because, I want to install Xposed Installer, and it looks like I also have to download and install the sdk(which I've seen people do through Twrp). Thank you for the help:)

Very very confused about rooting first gen kindle fire on Mac OSX

Guys I had bought my first gen kindle on release day and was able to root it shortly afterward with no problems. Fast forward several years later and my kindle has been updated to 6.3.4 and it seems like if you want to root your first gen kindle on a mac it feels very daunting/overwhelming.

Can anyone help me root my first gen kindle through mac osx? I would be eternally grateful!

I was able to install fastboot and adb using the terminal but how do I get the android OS onto my kindle?

I've never modded my Kindle Fire but I'd like to dive in. I'd like to hear your opinions of the best (fast, functional) rom available for the device AND the best step by step process to load it. Really excited to make this thing usable.

Thanks!

Kindle Fire HD 8.9 won't boot after attempting to root and unlock

So I got a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 from a relative (who recently passed away…see why this is relevant later) and I immediately attempted to root and unlock it so I could put real Android on it. Big mistake for me.

For one, it was on the 8.5.1 software. For two, I probably should have researched a bit more, so yes, my fault here.

I rooted using the weird looking Chinese apk (can't remember the name atm), worked fine, no problems. Then I followed a guide on here (but I think it was for the 8.4.x firmware) using flashfire11.apk to flash the appropriate kfhd8 TWRP recovery and the freedom. However, once I used that tool and flashed, the Kindle only goes to the "kindle fire" logo and doens't do anything else.

If I enter the fastboot commands in Terminal (yes, I'm using a Mac, but I can switch to Windows if need be) and plug the device in when powered off, it does go to fastboot mode, but so far I have not been able to get anything (Terminal or CMD Prompt) to see my Kindle when I plug it in. Any suggestions on how to de-brick this thing? Major points to you if you can help.

Can't root newer kindle 10

I just got a kindle fire hd 10 and I can't seem to downgrade it from 5.1.4. It seems this one has shipped with e3 recovery which performs a signature check and causes any .bin file less than 5.1.4 to fail the signature check when sideloading. I tried 5.1.2 as others mentioned success, but no dice on mine.

Anyone have a workaround? Is there any way to fake the sig check?

You guys that had success, did your device have e3 recovery on it?

Kindle Fire 5th Gen, adb lost at recovery

I've installed all the necessary drivers, checked with rootjunkie's supertool and verified that adb and fastboot drivers are detected, and verified that adb is detected all the way up to the recovery. But when I select "sideload from adb," my Device Manager shows the device as "Other-KFFOWI," and typing "adb devices" returns no devices. Have I done something wrong?

Installing Apps on a Kindle HDX 7 (3rd gen) without registering

Hello,
So I bought a Kindle HDX 7 (3rd gen) for my girlfriend. She used it for a month and then a yellow line appeared on the screen. She contacted Amazon and they gave her a replacement and told her to discard/ recycle the defective one. Now I didn't see the point of throwing away the entire device just coz of the screen issue so I asked her to give the defective one to me. I did a factory reset on it. I can load documents and video files and music but they all appear in the Doc tab only. I am able to open Silk and use it like a basic tablet, but when I select tabs of Books or Music, etc, it asks me to register with Amazon. I tried doing that but it constantly rejects any email leading me to believe that the serial was blacklisted. So I've been scouring this site for clues on how to root the device/ install google play etc., but I am a bit confused now looking at the different links.
So far I've seen links with a cyanogen mod in here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/kind...-thor-t3050199

or the 'How to install Google Play here'
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2547054

So I'd be really grateful if you folks could point me in the right direction as in what steps do I need to take to either unlock my device/ be able to install apps/ read books and listed to music under the respective tabs. Is there a particular order to follow to install? I tried looking up the Sticky page but I'm still totally lost on what steps to follow in what order.

About my Kindle:
It is a Kindle HDX 7 (3rd gen)
Runs right now on Fire OS 4.5.5.1
I enabled ADB by going into the Developer Options (had to click 5 -6 times on Serial Number in Settings for the Options to appear)

Please let me know if I have missed out on providing you with other details about my Kindle.
Thanks a lot!

Kindle Fire HDX 7 Play Store

I installed the play store on a rooted Kindle Fire HDX 7 (3rd Gen) via USB debugging. It now only shows the error RH-01.

Kindle Fire 7 help

Hi All

I have been asked to look at a friends Kindle Fire 7. The first problem is I have no idea whether it is the 1st or 2nd gen as it won't switch on.

I have done plenty of reading and tried many of the methods shown on this site but I've had no luck.

The kindle switches on and goes to a screen with a red triangle with an explanation mark. The device says 'Your Kindle cannot boot. You can reset your device....... etc'
You have two options, reboot or reset but neither work, it just ends up back at the same screen.

My Windows 10 PC does not show any sign of seeing the Kindle when plugged in, nothing showing anywhere in device manager.

Will I need a factory cable or is there a tool/method that will work without one?

I appreciate there are loads of threads on rooting/repairing but i'm a bit lost with all the different advice.

I have tried KFFirstAide64 but every option comes back saying 'The system cannot find the path specified'.

Any help will be gratefully received! :)

Since then boot the recovery mode ... not getting anything to work.

Please tell me how you can recover.

I should've tried the link below.

Kindle: Portable Arcade

Hello,

I recently picked up a current Kindle, (2015), and successfully rooted it. For the sale price of , it's fantastic! I'm currently trying to talk my brother into one and wanted to see if I could throw in another selling point: retro gaming! We grew up with Nintendo through N64. If our cartridges were video cassettes, they'd be worn out! So with that said, I have a soon to be old PlayStation 3 with 4 Bluetooth controllers. I'm thinking I'd like to buy a SD card, throw some emulators & roms on there, pair the controllers, and have a portable arcade. But before progressing, can the little Kindle actually handle emulation? And does it allow for Wi-Fi display via a Roku? I can't seem to find that option.

thanks for any input!

Kindle fire won't turn on at all

Hello l. I don't know if this is the right place to post this but here goes. 2 days ago , my kindle fire HD 7 5th gen updated to OS 5.1.4 on its own and now I cannot root my device, so I went on YouTube and watched rootjunky's firmware restore and unbrick video so that i can learn to restore my tablet to 5.1.2 so that i can root. I did adb sideload and then the video said to unplug USB cable and press power button, so I did. And then after my tablet won't turn on at all. I tried charging it for an hour and pressing the power and volume bottom for 30 seconds and it still won't turn on. Does anyone know what I can do? Is there a way I can fix this? Please help me
