[Requesting Help] [Noob] Flash Stock Firmware on SM-935A (AT&T)

Hello, all! I recently got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge AT&T Model (SM-935A) from Best Buy, and I somehow decided to root it (Me being an iPhone user, I don't know anything about Android). Anyway, I ended up rooting the phone, and later, a Samsung Update popped up. Right after I denied it, my main apps (Caller ID Name, and Google Play Store) began to crash and fail to start up at all. Nothing was working as all apps were crashing. When I pushed restart on the phone, it booted through the 'custom' logo, then to the AT&T logo, where it stayed like that for hours. I noticed how hot the phone turned and put it in the refrigerator (After all, the phone is waterproof, right? ;_;). I searched on the internet, and there I found that I could full-wipe the phone out, which seemed reasonable to me, as I had not completely decked out the phone, yet. So after full-resetting the phone, I still saw the 'custom' logo, and all of my content was gone. As usual, I downloaded, and put back all of my accounts, and soon enough, another update came round, and my phone broke down... Again. So I repeated that step of wiping out my phone again. This happened about 3 more times until I decided to flash-fix my phone, or something akin to that term. I downloaded the required files of ODIN and software from this website, but instead, it still failed with the 'ODIN protocol version failed!' error. I do not understand this issue nor do I know how to fix it. I hear that XDA is the world's best developers at Android or something so I have come here as a FINAL RESORT! Thank you for reading, and to whoever may know, please help! (If you need pictures, I will be happy to post them!) :D

Sprint S4 4.4.2 Super Noob help

I'm ok to admit, I'm an ultra noob to android roms/rooting/ etc. and am asking for any help.

I've taken a few days and been plowing through videos and threads beyond what I can now feel comfortable and/or comprehend.

My end goal is to get native Hotspot on my phone, so my son can use his Tab 4 for wifi access.

Here are my stats of what I'm currently running on my phone :
Software version
L720VPUFNG2
Hardware version
L720.08
Model number
SPH-720
Android version
4.4.2
Baseband version
L720VPUFNG2
Kernerl Version
3.4.0-2162929
Build number
KOT49H.L720VPUFNG2
Non-Rooted

So far, I believe I need to root and then proceed with replacing the services.jar and services.odex files.
I am clueless which Root program I should use for starters (odin, cf auto, kingo, cryanogenmod, motochopper).
Then also if anyone per-2016 has had success with Hotspot wifi on their Sprint S4, same version as I have.

Thanks of course in advance for any assistance or guidance.

Noob needs help Rooting his phone

Hello,
I my first smart phone was the galaxy s4. I rooted that one with no problem after only researching for a couple hours and following simple YouTube tutorials, but that phone has lived too long.

I have recently gotten a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 5 model number SM-N920P. It is running stock Android 6.01. I would like to root my phone to have the full access i once had to full back ups, easy controller support etc. I have looked around for a few days now and can not find a tutorial to root with the sprint variant on the newest OS. Most are on Lollipop and I read a lot of people bricking their phones. Any help would be appreciated.

(Noob) Please help with G925F

Hi everyone. Im really interested in rooting my G925F S6 Edge. And have seen that chain fire has Cf auto root for the G925F but my build number is is different, to the one that its based on. Does the build number affect the success at all? Or will the G925F Cf Auto Root work on all G925F S6 Edge devices.

Ive been reading these forums for hours now and every time I think im ok to do it, I find users having issues with other models.

Also have read that deep sleep is affected after gaining root access and to reflash original firmware. Ive Searched samfirmware and cant find my exact build number anywhere?

Basically my questions are will the G925F file work for all G925F devices and can I flash any G925F firmware or will i need to pull my firmware of the device or carry on looking for it.

G925F S6 Edge
Build number : MMB29K.G925FXXS3DPF2

Thanks to all in advance

Noob trying to go back to Stock (i337m with Rogers)

Hi earlier I try to install this firmware (I337MVLUAMDJ_I337MOYAAMDJ_RWC.zip) but was very buggy. Wi-fi not working, network crashing. I was able to install custom ROM but I had the same problems plus sound not working.

I've downloader this one too. ALL_ATT_I337UCUFNB1_I337ATTFNB1_505595_REV06_user_ low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar

Should I try it or try another one?

Ok yet another noob post for how to root the note 4 on verizon

OK so massive apologies in advance because ive read about 500 posts that say this has been answered but i swear to christ i cant find it for the life of me. ive been at this for about a week trying to root this piece of **** and i finally am doing the one thing i said i wouldn't..... post a post that has apparently already been answered.

To start with here are the facts of what ive done tried and know. I started out with 6.0.1 marshmallow on my device. Following http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...phone-t3421821 post #2 i downgraded to 5.1.1 because at the time it was my understanding that was what was required. i still dont know if i even needed to do that now. after i did that i watched about 100 youtube videos all telling me different **** saying that i needed to transfer super-su and emotion over to the phone which i later found out was just kernel then reboot using odin and the recovery twrp file and send the device directly into recovery mode then wipe the data and install the files transfered to the device earlier inside recovery. then i watched one saying "no dont do that instead use kingoroot from ur pc and then super sume pro to wipe the files off. that just kept shutting off my phone cuz of how unstable the temp root was then i read some posts saying use adb script which i tried and failed at horribly. so bottom line is yes im a noob and yes i need a bit of hand holding as this is my first root ever and i really dont want to turn my phone into a brick. again i apologize for my ignorance but any help what so ever of even pointing me in the right direction would be helpful.

Root Guide for Noob

Installing a custom recovery using fastboot
See All About Recovery Images for more information about custom recoveries and their capabilities.
Make sure your computer has working fastboot and adb.
Download recovery -- visit twrp.me to obtain the latest version of Recovery for your device.
Connect the {{{device_name}}} to the computer via USB.
Make sure the fastboot binary is in your PATH or that you place the recovery image in the same directory as fastboot.
Open a terminal on your PC and reboot the device into fastboot mode by typing
adb reboot bootloader
or by using the hardware key combination for your device while it is powered off.
Once the device is in fastboot mode, verify your PC sees the device by typing
fastboot devices
If you don't see your device serial number, and instead see "<waiting for device>", fastboot is not configured properly on your machine. See fastboot documentation for more info.
If you see "no permissions fastboot", make sure your UDEV rules are setup correctly.
Flash recovery onto your device by entering the following command:
fastboot flash recovery your_recovery_image.img
where the latter part is the filename of the recovery image.
Once the flash completes successfully, reboot the device into recovery to verify the installation.

Ultra noob question about rooting OJC

I saw earlier that there is a toolkit for rooting 5.1.1 which I think is the OJC firmware. I want to say I am sort of sure that I could use that tool or at least some method to root 5.1.1 but honestly after a recent bit of illiteracy in regards to a VZW S6 purchase, I no longer trust myself.
If someone can give me that final nudge and tell me from experience that OJC is/is not rootable I would be beyond grateful

Samsung S3 i9300 Dead after trying to install a custom ROM (noob here)

So here is what happened.

I wanted to upgrade my android 4.3 to newer versions. I rooted my phone using kingoroot. It said it was successful. Then using TWRP manager app I tried to install the latest recovery image for samsung galaxy s3 i9300. It told me that it failed and that i could reboot now. i selected that but the app hanged (the rest of phone was working fine). then i manually restarted the phone using power button. it did restart but the screen remained black and the led (which glows red while charging) turned on and was changing shades of blue. I waited a bit then took out the battery. After that the phone is not turning on at all. I tried the soft and hard reset (pressing vol up+ home+ power button) but no luck. When i connect the phone to my laptop it gives a notification sound (ding!) but nothing more.

Please help me bring back my dead phone.

P.S: All this just to play pokemon GO

noob rooting

Is there a vid how to root from note 4 6.0.1 ??

Samsung S3 i9300 Dead after trying to install a custom ROM (noob here)

So here is what happened.

I have a Samsung S3 i9300 with android jellybean (4.3). I wanted to play Pokemon GO real bad (damn me ! :( ) so I tried rooting my phone and upgrading it to 4.4.

I used the kingoroot from PC and successfully rooted my phone. Then i downloaded the TWRP manager app in my phone and went to install recovery (i have no idea what that is but i went as per instructions given on TWRP website), chose my device, the latest image available and then selected "install". It ran and then gave me a pop up that it is not successful because either the image is not for my device or my phone's "something" is locked (i don't exactly remember what it was.. but i searched and found out that Samsung galaxy S3 i9300 has "that" feature always unlocked). Then it gave me an option to "Reboot Now" and i chose that, which hanged my phone. I pressed the home button and it went to the home page and the phone was working OK besides the TWRP manager app which was stuck. So what I did was that I restart my phone using the power button. My phone restarted and then I got a black screen and the LED which indicates the charging status was blue (with changing shades), It got me worried so I took out the battery. When i put it again it was DEAD :(

I tried the soft reset, hard reset but no luck.

When i connect it to my PC it does give that connected sound but nothing else.
