Please Help! May have softbricked my Galaxy S6 when trying to unroot!

Ok. So I was attempting to unroot my phone earlier, so I downloaded a stock firmware and used odin to put it on my phone (don't know the technical term). When is was going through all of the things in odin, it said it failed and said 'Complete(Write) operation failed'. I then tried to download a stock firmware from another site, and the same error popped up. I kept retrying and sooner or later I realised that my phone was saying that there was an error updating and I need to use emergency recovery thing in smart switch. I tried this, and neither smart switch, or Kies recognised my device. I then tried to use odin to flash this TWRP thing I have from something I did a while ago. This worked somewhat as I can now access this thing call team win recovery project. I can also enter download mode. Does anyone know how to help me?
Thanks

Bootloop while trying to flash TWRP

I tried to flash twrp using this guide http://en.miui.com/thread-240531-1-1.html. I used menu 1.
. I have officially unlocked my bootloader and I am currently on miui global beta. The splash screen is not going beyond mi logo.

Trying to install Xposed framework please help

I'm trying to install the ZIP file for the framework by flashing in recovery but it always says signature verification failed installation aborted. That's in both TWRP and CWM mode. My device is an Acer Iconia One 10 running on Android 5.1.1 and the zip file is xposed-v86-sdk22-arm64.zip any thoughts?

HTC M9 (Canada) softbrick then baseband issues while trying to root

So I was trying to root my phone. I unlocked the bootloader from HTCdev and managed to install TWRP. I selected the read and write option though I think that may have been a mistake reading some of the posts on this forum.

Anyways the next step was flashing superuser unfortunately I flashed the latest version however apparently only till 2.64 works. This caused a bootloop. As I had no ideas, I wiped my phone and installed CM13. Now my phone boots up and runs perfectly and I can install other ROMs too but one critical error is that my phone doesn't recognize my sim card. It says baseband is unknown and IMEI number field is blank if I check using the dialer. My phone is S-ON.

This seems to be a common error around this forum but I can't find a solution which helps me.

Most people suggest flashing the stock rom but since my phone is S-ON I can only flash the Canadian videotron version which I can't find anywhere. I found nandroid twrp backup here in the following link but I don't know what to do with it. I put it on my phone but obviously I can't flash it nor does TWRP automatically find it to restore it. Do I have to flash it from my computer somehow like ODIN is used for Samsung(?) phones ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Trying to unbrick Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F, keep getting "FAIL! (Size)"

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, it's really late here.

So, basically what happened was I was trying to root my phone which I accomplished and then I tried to install Xposed but when I tried to update it - it wouldn't let me so I had to install the Zip files for it which I forgot. I couldn't update Xposed as it was grayed out. So, I used a program from the Google play store which I forgot the name of fire-something? and then it got stuck on bootup samsung screen and I couldn't get it off. I then looked online and you had to reinstall database to un-brick it. I've been trying to do that with Odin3 ver. 3.09 but it keeps failing with FAIL(SIZE) error and I don't know to fix it.

This it the file i've been trying to use to fix it: G900FXXS1CPG2_G900FVFR1CPF1_VOD

Thanks

Trying to root s5 neo

ive been trying like hell to root my new s5 neo 903w canadian version, but i can NOT for the life of me get my laptop to properly recognize it in order for odin to see it, in order to flash the canadian version of the 903w root which can be found on chainfire..... ive done reading and did install the cdc android driver, but its giving me code 10 and the driver wont run.

my factory recovery allows me to install update from sd card... can i just put the root file (tar.md5) on my external sd and do it that way?? ive been busting my butt for 3 hours trying to get this darn thing to work properly.

my comptuer sees it just fine while powered on... but download mode i just get a big fat nothing. closest ive gotten is "drivers didnt install properly". windows 7 64 bit.

Help???

the whole reason i want to root is to get all the crap off that i wont use, and to avoid automatic ota updates. i cant even use wifi on it until its rooted as it automatically downloads and wants to install the update, despite dont automatically download updates being checked off in about phone software update.

Trying to recover photos on soft-bricked phone

Hi all,

This is my first post here, I'll try to include everything but please let me know if I am missing any info. I'm using Windows 10, my phone is using Stock ROM 6.0.1, carrier unlocked from Telus to Rogers but bootloader shows device is Locked.

TLDR: I'm trying to recover the photos from my soft-bricked phone before doing a factory reset. I've tried to manually flash the firmware with fastboot by following the steps in service.xml, but the commands all appear to return OKAY without errors but there's no change in the phone's behaviour.

More Info: I've spent the last 2 days reading up on here and elsewhere online to learn as much as I can. I am honestly not sure what caused it the soft-brick. I was using my phone normally yesterday morning when it froze while browsing Facebook, so I tried to power it down, but I got caught in a bootloop and it wouldn't go past the logo screen. It's part of my morning routine to run updates, and I often (though not yesterday) transfer files to/from the phone through a USB cable, so could it be an internal memory problem? Other possibilities, while I was careful ultimately I did download an apk for Pokemon Go before it was released in my country, and I did also download a battery saving app, so there's risks from both of those but the timing seems wrong...

I can get into bootloader and recovery mode, but not factory mode. Wiping the cache partition did not help. The only way to power the phone down is from bootloader, otherwise the phone goes straight to the logo screen.

I've installed ADB/Fastboot using the 15 Second ADB Installer here, and believe I have all of the correct drivers from the WinDroid install. However I did not enable USB Debugging before this happened, so the only way I can get ADB to see the devices is to go to "Apply update from ADB" in recovery mode, but running "adb devices" brings the phone up as sideload. If I'm in bootloader, "fastboot devices" sees it, "adb devices" comes back empty.

I used the file XT1563_LUX_RETCA-ROGERS_6.0.1_MPD24.107-52_cid14_subsidy-RGRCA_CFC.xml.zip from the File Factory folder, and it looks right according to the software version in the .xml files, but I'm still new to this and I'm not sure if my best guess is educated enough.

In general I'm not too squeamish about voiding the warranty and don't care about losing my apps, it's the photos that I really do not want to lose (shame on me for not backing those up!). I'm wondering if there's a way to get my photos back before unlocking or doing a factory reset, but if there's a reliable recovery software I can use after the fact I may have to bite the bullet.

TIA for any help.

[HELP] LG G3 stuck at Firmware Update Screen after trying to Flash Stock Firmware.

I just recently bought an LG G3 phone and wanted to update it to Android Marshmallow. The phone I bought was rooted using SuperSu, in order to update the firmware I had to do the "full unroot" from SuperSu. After that nothing happened so I decided to do the unroot manually. While doing so, when the screen showing "Firmware Update - Do not unplug..." the power went down when I was in Download Mode. After that I have tried to root the stock firmware but the LG Flash Tool either gives error of "Cannot Change Download Mode" or says "Partition change failed". I have tried several methods.

Now I am locked out of my phone. There is no recovery mode as when I enter it, it shows the Factory Reset screen. I have done factory reset too but to no benefit.

My phone is still being recognized by my computer so it's just soft bricked. Please help me out of this misery. I am new to this thing. :(

[Xposed] [Testers needed] Trying to solve Light sensor bug

Hi, may be some of you have experienced the bug when an auto-brightness is on and you're in the dark place or light sensor is covered by your hand or cardboard and you're trying to watch 360 video on youtube or other required gyroscope thing and there are lags. Watch them on video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYudbTzIdHU
May be it's already been discussed but I haven't found the solution except turning auto-brightness off which isn't like a perfect solution to me :)
On 4pda user GODKIMOVSK have shared some info regarding this problem. Here few things you should know:
1. There are two different kind of light sensor installed on our devices:
a) Liteon LTR55X ALSPRX
b) Sensortek stk3x1x alsprx
A lot of users with gyro bug have Liteon sensor but there are people with second one as well.
To check what sensor is installed on your device use Sensor Box application.
2) The limits of light sensor usually are 0 - 10000 lux and gyro lags exist only when the data from the sensor is less than 10 lux.
So, the solution is quite simple seems to me. When the sensor read value that is less than 10 lux it becomes 10 lux on the out of the sensor.

I found a xposed module http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.m...er.disableprox - which able to mock all sensor 's values on your device. But I haven't tried it yet cause my boot is still locked and I don't want to unlock it unofficially so I'm waiting for xiaomi to allow the unlocking.
The module doesn't able to change light sensor measurement limits but it can replace it with one number. And if it actually does that's almost the solution.

THE FIRST TASK.
I need people which have the described gyro bug to test the Sensor Disabler xposed module.
1. Install the module, activate it in xposed installer. Go to the module setting, find the light sensor and mock its values to 50-100 lux . Reboot.
2. Turn on auto-brightness. Install Sensor Box or any other application which can measure light sensor data. If it shows exactly the same value in lux that you set up in the module then it works.
3. Try to experience gyro lag. Go to youtube and try to watch any 360 video with your hand covering light sensor.
4 . Share your results in this thread. Does the module work or not? Does the lags are gone?
Share xposed log too (/data/data/de.robv..../log/ and the file is error.log or something like that) so if the module doesn't work we can identify what is the reason.

THE SECOND TASK.
I saw source code of Sensor Disabler module and built my own module (Light_Fix.apk) with following code which is aimed to solve the gyro bug.
Test my module as well and share log.
Steps are almost the same except 2nd step:
2. If the data can not go less then 10 lux then my module works.

PHP Code:

private void ChangeSensorValues(final LoadPackageParam lpparam) {

XC_MethodHook mockSensorHook = new XC_MethodHook() {
                @
SuppressWarnings("unchecked")
                @
Override

protected void beforeHookedMethod(MethodHookParam param)

throws Throwable {

int type=(Integer) param.args[0];

float[] sensor_values=(float[]) param.args[1];

                    if ((
type==) & (sensor_values[0]<=10)) //type 5 - LIGHT_SENSOR afaik

{

XposedBridge.log("SOMETHING WORKS!");

XposedBridge.log("type= "param.args[0]);

XposedBridge.log("values= "param.args[1]);

sensor_values[0]=(float) 10;

param.args[1]=sensor_values;
                    }

                }
            };

XposedHelpers.findAndHookMethod("android.hardware.SystemSensorManager$SensorEventQueue"lpparam.classLoader"dispatchSensorEvent"int.class, float[].class, int.class, long.class, mockSensorHook);
 }

I am also open for help from devs and other people. It's just sad that no one hasn't even tried somehow to solve the gyro bug despite so much people have the phone.

To mods: please move that thread if it is not in appropriate place

Help: "closed" message when trying to use sdb

Hi everyone!
I'll go right to the issue, I'm trying to change the icons on a Samsung Gear 2 Neo following the instructions on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2782669. So far I had to change the firmware so I could root it, fight with drivers, ROMs, Odin, and all that stuff, and finally could root it, but now that I run the command "sdb shell mount -o remount,rw /" I get the message "closed" and can't proceed. I tried changing firmware, resetting to factory, rerooting, everything to no avail. So I'd like to ask for your help to solve this issue. I'll leave a screencap of the command window here:

Thanks in advance.

trying to uninstall cyanogen mod to go to stock

Hey I am trying to uninstall cyanogen mod on my galaxy s4 so that I can return it to stock to sell it. I was following this guide techbeasts.com/how-to-unroot-samsung-galaxy-s4-all-versions/
I downloaded my firmware off of samsungs site the newest firmware available for my phone. I tried to restore it and it gave me an error about xmitdata fail so I had to unplug the phone and try again. Now if I try and boot up the phone it says firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again. If I try and reflash it in odin I get this far now and it freezes...

S3 mini won't turn on after trying to root with kingo root

So Im really frustrated right now because I was trying to root my old s3 mini using kingo root. It supposed to be one of the easier methods to root android but it somehow went wrong. Now my s3 mini wont turn on. When I press power button it vibrates and model name shows up but after that the screen goes black and it repeats. Its like non stopping loop. I cant also go to recovery mode. Has anyone any idea how to fix it?

Trying to root Galaxy S5 on VZW running Marshmellow

Need some help rooting my phone. It's a Samsung Galaxy S5 on VZW. I feel it's old enough now to root it and probably not have any problems.

I'm running Android 6.0.1. Model # SMG900V. I have the build # too. Is it safe to post that publicly?

I'm just trying to get rid of some of the stock apps and and move the rest to my SD card to clear up some space. So, I don't need any super packaged stuff that has all the bells and whistles.

It sounds good, but I don't know a thing about rooting. I've never rooted a phone, and I don't want to brick it. I was also looking at prebuilt roots like oneclickroot and kingroot but they sound a little iffy. Oneclickroot wouldn't work with my phone. I put it in developer mode and installed the ADP drivers that I think are for my phone locally.

I don't really want to install the full cyanogenmod, I'm happy with the standard Android OS, I just want some more power to do things my phone won't allow me, like deleting the stock apps that are taking up so much space.

I decided to try KingRoot as per the instructions on this video QicDqTKb_sU (I can't post links yet)
I downloaded the APK, ran it through Virustotal (which came back with a lot of positives, but I just assumed it was because it was a root installer, the AV software was warning against that). if you want to look it up yourself, the SHA256 hash is b780c2114c3b285d05024161345c72337f22b18c31ed178084 b8a8b41a586483.

So, I installed KingRoot, and it came back and said it didn't work. I ran the Root check app and it said I didn't have root access.

But now, when I boot with the "safe mode" where you clear cache and things like that, it has a warning that says:

Quote:

Warning!!

A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications.

If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key.
Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel.

Volume up: Continue
Volume Down: Cancel (restart phone)

It won't let me do anything else at that screen, so out of curiosity I hit volume up. Then, I got stuck at a screen that said "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" and got stuck there and wouldn't do anything else.

The only way out is to pop the battery out and restart, or do the volume down, home and power button.

So, I'm kind of stuck. KingRoot won't work for me, and I found an article titled: "Update Verizon Galaxy S5 SM-G900V to Marshmallow 6.0.1 (PF4) and Keep Root" but I'm too much of a newb to follow the instructions and I'm not sure it would work for my particular situation since I'm already in 6.0.1.

Other than that, the phone works perfectly fine. I can't boot into recovery mode to clean cache, but besides that I'm okay.

As far as I've gotten, I got myself into developer mode, allowed USB to be installed from unknown sources, enabled USB debugging and installed what I think are the right APB drivers for the phone (which I was going to use for Oneclickroot, but that apparently won't work with my device either).

Basically, my question is how do I root this phone without bricking it? I can't boot into recovery mode anymore without the error message and I don't know what software I need to get root (and the bootloader I guess? I'm not sure what that is, tbh)

Any help would be appreciated & sorry for the long post!
