Please Help! May have softbricked my Galaxy S6 when trying to unroot!

Ok. So I was attempting to unroot my phone earlier, so I downloaded a stock firmware and used odin to put it on my phone (don't know the technical term). When is was going through all of the things in odin, it said it failed and said 'Complete(Write) operation failed'. I then tried to download a stock firmware from another site, and the same error popped up. I kept retrying and sooner or later I realised that my phone was saying that there was an error updating and I need to use emergency recovery thing in smart switch. I tried this, and neither smart switch, or Kies recognised my device. I then tried to use odin to flash this TWRP thing I have from something I did a while ago. This worked somewhat as I can now access this thing call team win recovery project. I can also enter download mode. Does anyone know how to help me?
Thanks

Installed Xposed Framework zip, soft-bricked phone :(

Hey guys,

I know I know, I was stupid to try to get this working but I tried and failed. Now I'm just looking to get my old phone back and just leave it at being rooted (with custom recovery installed) and a custom rom. All 3 of these I had successfully done before I installed the framework zip which is where the problems arose.
I'll give you as much information as possible:

Phone: SM-G935F (UK version and on EE network)
Rooted with: CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f
Custom Recovery flashed: twrp-3.0.2-2-hero2lte.img.tar
Other things flashed: UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323.zip
no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip
Custom Rom flashed: KryxxOS-R1.3-G935F.zip

All of these were working and I should have stopped here but with the new Pokemon craze I really wanted Xposed installed to use the modules for it however massively regret it. I wish to get back to this point.

Zip used for Xposed: xposed-v86-sdk23-arm64.zip

Phone initially wouldn't do anything apart from show a battery (not charging (grey icon with lightening in it)) icon when connected to power. And it would ONLY do something when booting into download mode allowing me to go into it. It seemed the custom recovery was no longer working. I then tried everything, flashing back all Stock firmware for my model using ODIN and correct files for my phone (G935FXXU1APF2_G935FEVR1APE2_EVR), that didn't work. Even when installing only AP, all 4 using first HOME_CSC in the CSC and then using all 4 using the CSC file in the CSC. Then I tried using Smart Switch's recovery system, this failed also. Then I remembered hmmm, I can try to reflash my custom recovery using Odin. That WORKED. I thought great now I can do something and sure enough I could wipe my phone and access my files on my phone again when rebooted. After the reboot I tried just re-flashing the SU, the no-verify and the custom ROM thinking it would take me back. It still didn't boot. Black screen nothing. The last thing I attempted was to flash the Xposed Framework uninstaller and used this zip : xposed-uninstaller-20150831-arm64. I didn't know what this asci files were so I didn't flash them? After flashing the uninstaller, I again flashed SU, no-verify and the custom ROM. Nothing. Still nothing. However...whilst I was typing this, because my phone was connected to my PC and not stuck in DL mode or anything, it's now randomly come up with a battery charge. 3% so far but I want to wait until its higher before I risk trying to turn it on. Could it have been a dead battery all along whilst trying to fix?

I'd appreciate your help even if its to clarify that the battery seems to be the problem. I'll keep you posted with it throughout the night but if it gets sorted tonight it means I don't have to go into the city tomorrow to buy a fix. Thanks to all who post. Ask if you need anymore information.

Posting on behalf of one of my mates. He tried rooting his htc desire 626s Tmobile us. Unfortunately he messed up and it ran into a bootloop along with a coldboot message. He tried flashing ruu files. But does not work. Was wondering if anyone has a stock flashable rom or a backup of their system. So he could restore via twrp? Any other possible solutions as many others are running into the same ditch. Please help.

Trying to recover photos on soft-bricked phone

Hi all,

This is my first post here, I'll try to include everything but please let me know if I am missing any info. I'm using Windows 10, my phone is using Stock ROM 6.0.1, carrier unlocked from Telus to Rogers but bootloader shows device is Locked.

TLDR: I'm trying to recover the photos from my soft-bricked phone before doing a factory reset. I've tried to manually flash the firmware with fastboot by following the steps in service.xml, but the commands all appear to return OKAY without errors but there's no change in the phone's behaviour.

More Info: I've spent the last 2 days reading up on here and elsewhere online to learn as much as I can. I am honestly not sure what caused it the soft-brick. I was using my phone normally yesterday morning when it froze while browsing Facebook, so I tried to power it down, but I got caught in a bootloop and it wouldn't go past the logo screen. It's part of my morning routine to run updates, and I often (though not yesterday) transfer files to/from the phone through a USB cable, so could it be an internal memory problem? Other possibilities, while I was careful ultimately I did download an apk for Pokemon Go before it was released in my country, and I did also download a battery saving app, so there's risks from both of those but the timing seems wrong...

I can get into bootloader and recovery mode, but not factory mode. Wiping the cache partition did not help. The only way to power the phone down is from bootloader, otherwise the phone goes straight to the logo screen.

I've installed ADB/Fastboot using the 15 Second ADB Installer here, and believe I have all of the correct drivers from the WinDroid install. However I did not enable USB Debugging before this happened, so the only way I can get ADB to see the devices is to go to "Apply update from ADB" in recovery mode, but running "adb devices" brings the phone up as sideload. If I'm in bootloader, "fastboot devices" sees it, "adb devices" comes back empty.

I used the file XT1563_LUX_RETCA-ROGERS_6.0.1_MPD24.107-52_cid14_subsidy-RGRCA_CFC.xml.zip from the File Factory folder, and it looks right according to the software version in the .xml files, but I'm still new to this and I'm not sure if my best guess is educated enough.

In general I'm not too squeamish about voiding the warranty and don't care about losing my apps, it's the photos that I really do not want to lose (shame on me for not backing those up!). I'm wondering if there's a way to get my photos back before unlocking or doing a factory reset, but if there's a reliable recovery software I can use after the fact I may have to bite the bullet.

TIA for any help.

[HELP ASAP] Possibly soft-bricked phone, and flashmode won't work.

Hi there.

I'm using a Sony Xperia SP C5306. After attempting to install XperianZe OTA V3.0.5 (and Gapps), I find my phone stuck on the Sony Logo. It doesn't move. So, I do the sensible thing; I download a stock FTF (C5303_12.1.A.1.207_AU.ftf) and Flashtool, and attempt to install the stock ROM. But here's my problem; I can't get it to stay in Flashmode.

When plugging in my cable, I hold the VOL down button and the light goes green. Great! So the Flashtool starts flashing the FTF and my phone's green light goes out immediately. But it keeps flashing for a moment. And then the tool tells me suddenly that the phone has been disconnected. The phone goes to charge and sticks at the Sony logo again. This happens every single time.

TL;DR - My phone goes from flashmode straight to USB charge and I can't flash it to fix my softbrick.
If it's any help, my phone has a Locked Bootloader, and cannot be unlocked.

softbricked z3c

hi!
first off all thank you all for contributing to this forum, you guys really rule!
i have a problem....
as the title say i softbricked my z3 compact trying to flash MM on it.
i forgot to click the "allow unknown sources" on the phone before he procedure
i know, i`m stupid. my bad
but now when i tried to flash even stock kitkat on it the flashtool errors in one moment sayin "for flashtool unknown sources has to be enabled"
going thru the forum i saw a thread about the usb debugging mode
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2778437

he fixed it with using an older version of flashtool, but when i install an older version it asks to connect by pressing the back button not the volume down to enable flashing mode...
so i have 2 questions...
is there a way to flash without having the unknown sources on?
i installed the adb all-in-one but not successful to implement the command using the terminal
how to enable flashmode by using an older version when i dont have a back button? (its not arc s :) )

Soft-bricked, need help please!

Hello,
I downloaded a custom rom for my note 4. I started with the flashing process by wiping Dalvik cache, System, Data, and Cache.
Then, when I tried to flash the ROM, i got the following errors:

Code:

mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system at /system: No such file or directory.
unmount of /system failed; no such volume

I tried going to advanced wipe, clicking on system, and choosing Repair or Change File System, and then choosing Repair, but it didn't fix anything although it said Repair Complete.
So now, I have no OS on my phone but I can boot into recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Softbricked: I can access bootloader and recovery mode, but USB doesn't work

Hello everyone,

this evening, while trying to install the monthly update using the flash-all.bat (something I did a lot of times), I got an error (too many links) and everything failed.

If I'm not wrong, I even got the same error while doing "fastboot oem unlock", but later then I retried and it worked.

Right now, my N7 2013 doesn't start android anymore, it's OEM unlocked, I can access both bootloader and recovery mode, but I can't get the N7 2013 recognized by my Windows 10 PC.

All I can see in my Device List is a "Unknown USB device (port reset failed)", well, the correct text is "Dispositivo USB sconosciuto (reimpostazione porta non riuscita)", but I guess the former one is the right translation for my "italian error".

I've already tried to switch port, to switch cable, nothing works. I can't reinstall the USB driver, and I'm stuck there.

Is there a chance to fix this? Can anybody help me?

Thank you so much.

EDIT: oops, I've just realized this is the N7 2012 forum, while I have the N7 2013 model, can someone please move my thread? Thanks.

Need help: Soft-bricked AT&T GS III

So I ran into some issues with flashing an android 6.0 ROM (slim6) on my AT&T Galaxy S3 I747 and was wondering if its safe to revert back to the stock firmware using odin and start over from scratch. The stock firmware being Jellybean 4.1.1. I have it rooted and CWM installed. I havent done anything with the bootloader (unless flashing a new cutom ROM messes with that.) As of now I have access to both download mode and recovery menus. The issues I have is an error message after the phone boots up that says "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped" and I cannot get past. Also, since I use this phone with T-mobile, would I have to unlock it again if I were to revert to stock?

Softbricked LG G3, possibility to backup internal storage?

Hi,

last Thursday, as I clicked the wifi-button, my phone suddenly shutted down and still has a bootloop. It was not rooted and it has a stock ROM.

Things i tried until now:
- New battery -> no chance
-lg pc suite repair -> no chance
-lg flashtool with stockrom and normal flash -> no chance

The reason why i not used a factory reset or cse flash until now is that im looking for a chance to recover my internal storage. (especially my whatsapp data). Unfortunately i have no active usb debugging and no root. I can still access download Mode and recovery mode.

Do you have any suggestions what i can do to safe my data? Next time i will finally start with backup my data regulary....

I hope you can help me.

Greetings from Germany

Jonas

HELP With Soft-Bricked Moto X Pure

Unlocked the bootloader of my moto x pure and flashed twrp on it. I also installed cyanogenmod 13 onto my phone and everything was working fine, up until I tried using the encrypt feature in the cyanogenmod settings. I started the process, but after over 36 hours of it not finishing and staying in the booting screen I realized there was a problem. I cut the failed process short and from then on my phone would only ever stay in that same screen when powered it on. I tried restoring a backup as well as reinstalling the system, but when I try restoring it says there is an
"Error opening: '/data' (I/O error)".
When I try reinstalling cyanogenmod, twrp says it is successful but it stays in a bootloop, permanently showing the picture of the cyanogenmod guy.

Thanks in advance!
