Need help with rooting Samsung Galaxy Core Prime running 5.1 .1



I have a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-G360T which is running Android 5.1.1. I have read other threads on these forums which I followed in my attempt to root my phone. I've tried root apps (like Kingo Root) which didn't work. I then tried CF-Autoroot, using Odin 3.7 and the correct model number .tar .md5 file. The root appeared to be working on my phone, as the scripts ran and was proceeding to reboot. Phone cycled on then off and became stuck on the logo screen with the words "Set Warranty Bit: kernel". I had to factory reset using Kies (which I had uninstalled while using Odin, and reinstalled) Can someone please help me?



Suddenly getting huge battery drain on a stock s6 running 6.0.1



Hi everyone, long time no post as haven't done any messing around with this phone! Hopefully you can help.

I've got a galaxy s6 that's totally stock. No root, no kernels or roms and up to date from OTA updates. (Android 6.01, Baseband version G920FXXU3DPAD, Kernel Version 3.10.61-8216184, dated jun 2nd 2016.)

Overnight my phone went from 80% charged to being dead by the time I woke up! It's been a similar story for the last 3 days ( I usually charge it up overnight so I'm not sure exactly how long it's been like this, but after it happened the first time I checked to see whether it would happen again). It never used to be like this - the last time I didn't charge overnight was about 3 weeks ago, and then it dropped maybe 10-20%.

No idea what to do to try and fix this, have had no issues with the phone up to this point. Attached some screenshots of "battery usage" - numbers look OK to me given the short screen on time (it was charged shortly before bed to see how much charge we lost overnight. I didn't think it would be all of it!)

Root for VS986 running the new 26A



Can anyone tell me if it's possible to root the VS986 running the new MM 6.0 26A edition. If not, is it possible to downgrade to an older version which can be rooted?

My Questions are where is this firmware from, is it safe to use ?
Seems to burn through the battery fast.

Could this have been done to get around a blocked IMEI ?
Would it be safe to Flash a Stock firmware, will it still work, what firmware would I use ?
Location is Australia and Network is Telstra.

Recommendations for smart watch with Note 4 running CM 12.1



I messed up and bought a Samsung Gear S2 watch to go with my Galaxy Note 4. It requires initialization with Samsung Gear app on the phone. The watch won't do anything, even display the time, until initialization is complete. You get an error message about an incompatible operating system. So I returned the watch.

I need recommendations for smart watches that will work with a rooted phone running CM 12.1. Thanks.



Help running this command on adb?



I saw a post on reddit about sanitizing an android device but I was wondering how I could execute the command? I managed to root my device but I'm at a loss as to how to execute it. Through adb? But it doesn't seem to be a valid command.

Help is much appreciated.

Trying to root Galaxy S5 on VZW running Marshmellow



Need some help rooting my phone. It's a Samsung Galaxy S5 on VZW. I feel it's old enough now to root it and probably not have any problems.

I'm running Android 6.0.1. Model # SMG900V. I have the build # too. Is it safe to post that publicly?

I'm just trying to get rid of some of the stock apps and and move the rest to my SD card to clear up some space. So, I don't need any super packaged stuff that has all the bells and whistles.

It sounds good, but I don't know a thing about rooting. I've never rooted a phone, and I don't want to brick it. I was also looking at prebuilt roots like oneclickroot and kingroot but they sound a little iffy. Oneclickroot wouldn't work with my phone. I put it in developer mode and installed the ADP drivers that I think are for my phone locally.

I don't really want to install the full cyanogenmod, I'm happy with the standard Android OS, I just want some more power to do things my phone won't allow me, like deleting the stock apps that are taking up so much space.

I decided to try KingRoot as per the instructions on this video QicDqTKb_sU (I can't post links yet)
I downloaded the APK, ran it through Virustotal (which came back with a lot of positives, but I just assumed it was because it was a root installer, the AV software was warning against that). if you want to look it up yourself, the SHA256 hash is b780c2114c3b285d05024161345c72337f22b18c31ed178084 b8a8b41a586483.

So, I installed KingRoot, and it came back and said it didn't work. I ran the Root check app and it said I didn't have root access.

But now, when I boot with the "safe mode" where you clear cache and things like that, it has a warning that says:

It won't let me do anything else at that screen, so out of curiosity I hit volume up. Then, I got stuck at a screen that said "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" and got stuck there and wouldn't do anything else.

The only way out is to pop the battery out and restart, or do the volume down, home and power button.

So, I'm kind of stuck. KingRoot won't work for me, and I found an article titled: "Update Verizon Galaxy S5 SM-G900V to Marshmallow 6.0.1 (PF4) and Keep Root" but I'm too much of a newb to follow the instructions and I'm not sure it would work for my particular situation since I'm already in 6.0.1.

Other than that, the phone works perfectly fine. I can't boot into recovery mode to clean cache, but besides that I'm okay.

As far as I've gotten, I got myself into developer mode, allowed USB to be installed from unknown sources, enabled USB debugging and installed what I think are the right APB drivers for the phone (which I was going to use for Oneclickroot, but that apparently won't work with my device either).

Basically, my question is how do I root this phone without bricking it? I can't boot into recovery mode anymore without the error message and I don't know what software I need to get root (and the bootloader I guess? I'm not sure what that is, tbh)

Any help would be appreciated & sorry for the long post!

A310F Live Demo Unit - get IMEI running?



Hi,

I got a Live Demo Unit of a store owner who got insolvent and liquidated his shop. Now I got this device which also recognizes a SIM card. But I can't make any calls and it don't get any cellular access. Also the IMEI is some developer IMEI.

My question is, can I get this unit running? Or can I use the IMEI of my one of my other smartphones? Or is it a hardware limitation? I already flashed latest official Samsung firmware (5.1.1 LP).

Why is it running slow?



Just received this phone through my insurance as I broke my Nexus 6 and they did not have another Nexus 6 available to replace it with so they gave me an S6 Edge as a replacement. The hardware build is very nice way better than the Nexus 6 but on the software side it seems to run super slow compared to the Nexus 6, actually I'm pretty sure it's runs slow period.
When opening apps it takes a long while for the images to load, and even the internet is slow, even though I'm on wifi it feels like I'm on a mobile network. What can I do to speed this phone up? I really don't feel like rooting anymore as I don't have time to tweak my phone frequently.

Full easy instructions for running os remix off usb stick without errors



This is a working usb install media creator method for os remix installation circumventing all known errors made for noobs including USING full drive internal storage space etc.

You will be able to use this usb stick for future creation of other usb install media

you will have the choice to also install to hard drive

you will need 2 x usb drives and require drive write speed to be higher than 10 mb/s

the first drive will be the installer drive and the second will be the actual usb drive used to run remix os.

For first drive basic fat 32 install you will need rufus 2.9 usb boot media creator

after creation of the installer drive keep it safe i reccommend you use a 4gb drive /£2 off ebay but get something thats got a write speed higher than 10 mb/s or else install will fail!

Format the second drive to your liking ext 4 for example on your pc with minitool partition or acronis disk manager (make sure the drive is formatted as primary and set to active flag)



1. Create fat 32 usb boot disk with first usb drive and rufus 2.9 and the remix os iso
2.make sure after creation you boot up the usb drive and enter remix os
3.make sure you dont boot up the ufi version of the boot up, only use the legacy version (it will have ufi next to boot drive in bios usb boot up list)
4.after you enter remix os go to settings and download the update (ota) (this is the main fix)(if this update fails you cannot proceed further with instructions)
5. After ota update reboot and enter remix os again and let android upgrade
6.after this stage is complete your fat32 remix os usb bootable drive is ready to create a usb drive that runs remix os from the drive itself.
7.insert the second drive in a usb hub and boot up the computer with both drives in the computer and boot from the first drive (the usb remix os installer drive)
8.boot up and at the grub boot menu (it should look blue with yellow writing not the black ufi version) press tab and type: INSTALL=1
9. You will enter usb media creation menu select scan usb drives and select the second drive (the remix os running drive)
10. It will ask you what you want to format the drive as so select do not format option (becus you already formatted it)
11.then it will ask you to install first grub boot menu say yes
12. Then it will ask you to install second boot grub efi menu say yes
13. Next it will ask you if you want to format the boot partition or something like that say *** no ***
14. Then it will ask you if you want read/write privelage say yes
15. It will proceed to write the remix os onto the drive
16. When finished it will ask to restart (at this point i just switch the pc off by holding power button then restart and boot off the new second drive to run the os from it already upgraded too)



note: If wanting ntfs version of remix os then its a little complicated than this and you will need to use imgtools to increase the data.img file on the ntfs drive after creation with the first usb media creator drive.

The remix os ota update addresses the boot media creation errors. After the ota update all drives created with the grub menu installer boot up as they should but only ufi boot up option hangs!

I have the ative pc pro xe700t1c the uk version with intel core i5 quad core and its also a convertible tablet with msata ssd as hdd drive and as you all probbaly know android was created for fast flash memory and linux format os so the best combination is an ssd and ext4 linux file format. I have a 64gb 544 mb/s msata drive in a usb 3.0 enclosure which i use to boot remix os and run it off it. Its perfectly smooth and fast enough and the ativ pc pro convertible laptop/tablet is fully compatible hadware software wise, no problems at all.

what is the best way to root my galaxy s4 i337 running 5.0.1



I was hoping to install a custom rom as well but the way I rooted it last time it soft bricked, I used kingroot

Step 1:
download all necessary files.

step 2:
a. back up any necessary files from your handset.
b. since some computers doesn't show your lenovo k4 note while on recovery mode, it is imperative to put aroma file manager and supersu on your sd card. "do not extract. just copy them as it is"
take note that the next step will definitely hard reset your device.

step 3:
a. enable developer option on your handset. go to system settings/about and click build 7x or as it says "you are now a developer"
b. go to developer option do this two things
enable oem unlock
allow usb debugging
c. once you are done please connect your device to your laptop

step 4:
a. run adb server (go to adb folder, ****f+right mouse click and choose open command window here.
b. it will prompt you to allow your pc to connect/control your devices just click YES
c. on your command window, type ADB DEVICES (it will detect your lenovo k4 note)
d. once detected type ADB REBOOT-BOOTLOADER (your device will reboot)
e. once rebooted, type FASTBOOT DEVICES to verify if you are already in fastboot mode
f. if connected proceed to step 5. if not please repeat procedure

step 5:
a. once connected go to adb folder on your computer. you will see a file named unlock recovery.bat
if not, copy this text

to notepad and save as batch file, name it as UNLOCK_RECOVERY.bat
b. click the UNLOCK_RECOVERY.BAT then it will ask you on your device to confirm, (will add screen shot later on) just press volume up button
c. once the process has been done, (will take few seconds) extract recovery.img to adb folder
d. go to your previously opened command window and type
FASTBOOT FLASH RECOVERY RECOVERY.IMG (the one you extracted)

step 6:
a. once flashed, disconnect your device (it will show a tiny text telling you transmission ok)
b. press and hold the power button for few seconds to turn off the device
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU WON'T TURN ON THE DEVICE UNLESS THE NEXT STEPS ARE DONE. IF YOU ACCIDENTALLY TURNED ON YOUR DEVICE REPEAT TO STEP 1.
c. press and hold vol up+vol down+ powerbutton simultaneously for few seconds, once you felt a vibration, release power button whilst still holding the vol up and down button
it will show the lenovo screen then go black. (don't worry it means you successfully flashed recovery.img)
d. connect the device to your computer
if lenovo shows on your device, now is the time to recopy aroma file manager and supersu. if not just wait for the screen to turn back on.
e. once twrp recovery is on, go to mount and check SYSTEM. (do not touch anything aside what i unstructed)
d. go back to previous menu and go to install
install aroma file manager and wait for it to finish
f. once installed it will go directly to aroma file manager, go to system folder and scroll down. look for recovery-from-boot.p and delet it
g. once deleted exit aroma file manager (button can be found on right corner)
h. go back and install beta supersu which you copied. (browse sd card)
i. once flashed, reboot system,

step 7:
a. if you made it this far, then you are almost done.
b. just finish the lenovo start up.
c. once done, connect your device again on your computer and copy xposed apk and xposed arm to internal or sdcard
d. install xposed apk
e. turn off your device

step8:
a. reboot to recovery (press vol up and down and power button simultaneously, once you felt a vibration release power button whilst holding vol up and down button. lenovo screen will show and it will eventually go to twrp recovery)
b. click install and install xposed arm
c. onced install. reboot system.



THERE YOU GO... YOU ARE DONE. YOU CAN VERIFY ROOT BY DOWNLOADING ROOT CHECKER FROM GOOGLE PLAY STORE. :)

I'm using ARHD 93.0 with ElementalX 22.3 + xposed with youtube background module and that's all. ( S-ON, M7-UL, HBOOT-1.61.0000, RADIO-4T.35.120.274.0718, 0S-7.19.401.51, MultiROM v33b + MultiROM TWRP 3.0.2-0, for the moment no secondary rom, just ARHD)

Galaxy S5 non rooted running Marshmallow question



Ok my phone isnt rooted yet but i setup an sd card for the future for when its rooted... for link2sd I made two partitions on the phone, both are set as primary one is a FAT32 partition which my unrooted phone sees just fine and all the file space is accounted for. However the EXT2 partition I made for future use with link2sd shows up on my phone as corrupted, is there really something wrong with it or is it just that an unrooted phone doesnt read EXT2 so its listed as corrupted but when I finally do root the phone that partition will show properly? If not how do I fix that partition to not be corrupted?
