Full easy instructions for running os remix off usb stick without errors
This is a working usb install media creator method for os remix installation circumventing all known errors made for noobs including USING full drive internal storage space etc.
You will be able to use this usb stick for future creation of other usb install media
you will have the choice to also install to hard drive
you will need 2 x usb drives and require drive write speed to be higher than 10 mb/s
the first drive will be the installer drive and the second will be the actual usb drive used to run remix os.
For first drive basic fat 32 install you will need rufus 2.9 usb boot media creator
after creation of the installer drive keep it safe i reccommend you use a 4gb drive /£2 off ebay but get something thats got a write speed higher than 10 mb/s or else install will fail!
Format the second drive to your liking ext 4 for example on your pc with minitool partition or acronis disk manager (make sure the drive is formatted as primary and set to active flag)
1. Create fat 32 usb boot disk with first usb drive and rufus 2.9 and the remix os iso
2.make sure after creation you boot up the usb drive and enter remix os
3.make sure you dont boot up the ufi version of the boot up, only use the legacy version (it will have ufi next to boot drive in bios usb boot up list)
4.after you enter remix os go to settings and download the update (ota) (this is the main fix)(if this update fails you cannot proceed further with instructions)
5. After ota update reboot and enter remix os again and let android upgrade
6.after this stage is complete your fat32 remix os usb bootable drive is ready to create a usb drive that runs remix os from the drive itself.
7.insert the second drive in a usb hub and boot up the computer with both drives in the computer and boot from the first drive (the usb remix os installer drive)
8.boot up and at the grub boot menu (it should look blue with yellow writing not the black ufi version) press tab and type: INSTALL=1
9. You will enter usb media creation menu select scan usb drives and select the second drive (the remix os running drive)
10. It will ask you what you want to format the drive as so select do not format option (becus you already formatted it)
11.then it will ask you to install first grub boot menu say yes
12. Then it will ask you to install second boot grub efi menu say yes
13. Next it will ask you if you want to format the boot partition or something like that say *** no ***
14. Then it will ask you if you want read/write privelage say yes
15. It will proceed to write the remix os onto the drive
16. When finished it will ask to restart (at this point i just switch the pc off by holding power button then restart and boot off the new second drive to run the os from it already upgraded too)
note: If wanting ntfs version of remix os then its a little complicated than this and you will need to use imgtools to increase the data.img file on the ntfs drive after creation with the first usb media creator drive.
The remix os ota update addresses the boot media creation errors. After the ota update all drives created with the grub menu installer boot up as they should but only ufi boot up option hangs!
Hope this helps hit the thanks dont forget so i know how many people were helped by this and if thats high i will continue helping happily! enjoy.
I have the ative pc pro xe700t1c the uk version with intel core i5 quad core and its also a convertible tablet with msata ssd as hdd drive and as you all probbaly know android was created for fast flash memory and linux format os so the best combination is an ssd and ext4 linux file format. I have a 64gb 544 mb/s msata drive in a usb 3.0 enclosure which i use to boot remix os and run it off it. Its perfectly smooth and fast enough and the ativ pc pro convertible laptop/tablet is fully compatible hadware software wise, no problems at all.

[APP] Easy Tethering Enabler
Hi, I just created a simple app which makes it easy (one click) to enable tethering by adding the line "net.tethering.noprovisioning=true" to build.prop if it's not already there. If it is already there, you get the green light and it won't make any changes. It also backs up your current build.prop file to /sdcard/buildproptest/build.prop
I don't know how far back this works, I think this method started working in Lollipop but don't quote me on it.
I don't make any guarantees, so please don't be mad if something doesn't work for you.
I appreciate any feedback and problems/issues you run into.
If you want the source code just ask. I'll be uploading everything to Github soon.
Thanks!

A.R.I.S.E. Sound Systems seeking getprop output (Easy, I promise!)
Hey Axon 7 owners!
I am a member of the A.R.I.S.E. Sound Systems team, producing top-shelf mobile audio sound systems for Android devices. Information can be found at our thread here.
In less than two months of existence we've achieved incredible success, but that success is only possible because of many, many users aiding us in the various research areas we conduct to further improve our sound systems.
One of those areas of research is examining the getprop output of various devices, especially those that we utilize into our sound systems using various libraries and other content. This is where you come in:
Our current sound system in testing phase, Leviticus, is based around your very own Axon 7 Dolby Atmos, ported by our team member, @ahrion. To maximize this system's success and functionality, one simple contribution by one of you can have a significant impact - providing the output of "getprop" from your Axon 7. Before I provide the instructions on how to do just that, let me explain what we are requesting.
/system/build.prop contains many properties for our devices, that can have values or adjustable values that can enhance all sorts of mods we all like to enjoy here at XDA. As is the case with some things we encounter in life, what we see is only the "tip of the iceberg." Rooted or unrooted, if you type the following command in terminal:
And then tap Enter on your phone's keyboard, your terminal app will create a list of every single property for your device, the vast majority of which are not included in your /system/build.prop. These "hidden" lines can be a gold mine for us that build sound systems using significant content from particular devices.
Rest assured, no sensitive personal data is ever stored in your complete list of build properties and you are easily able to examine the entire contents of the getprop output before copying the entire text, pasting it into a new .txt file, and attaching that new .txt file to a reply for us to utilize with Leviticus.
It will not take much of your time at all but it will certainly help us maximize your phone's content that is utilized into our latest sound system that we are just now building.
Thanks for reading our request and do not hesitate to ask me anything about this request or the usage of a fulfilled request. Below, is a link to a free terminal emulator available from the Google Play Store if you do not already have a terminal app and would like to help us maximize your phone's content in our Leviticus sound system. :good:

That really helped my performance on the mobile and my battery , I tested for 1 week and felt a great improvement
Ported CM12.1 to my MTK6580 phone, all fine except 2 issues, an easy fix for someone?
Having 2 issues trying to get this ported, 1st, the camera: Replacing no lib files from stock the new rom has no camera icon at all in the launcher as expected, replacing and copying all the system/lib/camXXX files and the rom then has the camera icon but 'camera has stopped' as soon as I open it, likewise downloading a new camera it says 'maybe the camera is open in another app'
Have replaced all things I can think off to try and get this working using various sites and pages to explain which files need copying from stock 5.1 to port 5.1. Does anyone here have a DEFINITE guide/list of things to copy or check? Incase Im missing something else?
Second 'problem' though not as bad, just annoying, memory and SD card are working fine but plugging the phone into the PC before file explorer there were 2 options inside the phone 'phone' and 'sd card' to drag files over, now they are called 'up one level' and 'down one level'
Dragging and dropping and opening all work fine, its just annoying as Its hard to work out what is the SD and what is the phone memory, again, not a massive issue just would be nice if it was working OK.
Thanks.

Easy set Vsel and instant wakeup for CM11(recent nightly built by Quarx) & TWRP 2.8
Hi,all
Recently,I‘ve upgrade defy to CM11 nightly built that Qurax released everyday. And I'm using cm-11-20160628-NIGHTLY-mb52x.zip such a great rom works almost everything and smooth.
MANY THANKS to Quarx!
The rom is using TWRP 2.8.0.0, so I can't find setting CPU Vsel at boot. After some search,it can be done by adding some scripts to /system/etc/init.d/09overclock .(or using AeroControl )
Also, the rom delays to wakeup up to 3 seconds when you click the power button .
And I tried the same CPU governor & I/O schedul that used with 4.1.2 & 4.3.1,and it worked. These two settings built in the rom setting are sometimes failed to work and back to default, so I added them to script too.
Add these scripts to /system/etc/init.d/09overclock ,remember to leave a blank line at the end and set the same right (555) to the file.
Also, set this to /system/build.prop ,to bring up income call interface much more fast.
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=0
FYI,
about the last minfree part(other VM sets are ok by default ),I've done some test below.
ALL tested under ART runtime (its bugfree to me and ART is way much better than Dalvik, using Dalvik, browser crashed at 11-12 gifs no matter what ).
1.uncheck Allow purging of assets ,browser crashed loading 7 - 8 gifs picture in the webpage
2.check Allow purging of assets ,browser crashed loading 14 - 15 gifs picture (including the gifs above) in the webpage
3.check Allow purging of assets ,and using the minfree above ,browser crashed up to 24 gifs picture (including the gifs above) in the webpage
All behaviors the same delay switching to other apps when browser approaching to crash.
After done above ,there are only left 2 bugs to me
1.the menu & search button remap.(menu button can't be remapped to other function in the launcher ,and search button only works as search )
2.call recording not working (still searching method)
