How to setup SPMC as Launcher?

Hi guys,

I have an aftv2 rooted and using rbox pre-rooted 5.0.5 rom. I also tried pre-rooted 5.2.1 rom, and I would like to stay on this latest version, however I want to have the ability to click the home button and go directly to the homepage on SPMC.

As of right now, I tried pre-rooted rom 5.0.5 with firestarter but when pressing the home button it brings me SPMC but not on the homepage. (and it is glitchy, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't). So my understanding is that in order to achieve this, I have to setup SPMC as launcher. How can I do this? I already downloaded SPMC launcher apk, and read a lot of threads with no concrete answer. Right now it seems that the only option is to install xposed and rbox mods. Is this correct? or is there any other option?

And I assume the rbox mods to set up an alternative launcher still works on pre-rooted 5.2.1 rom?

cheers

[Guide] Ultimate Pokemon Go GPS Spoof Setup

Everyone knows about Pokemon GO; most will know about spoofing your GPS too.

I have spent quite a while tweaking the more generic guides available online to get a setup that is perfect for my LG G3 and think it would help to share my findings.

Requirements
Rooted Android Device (Any ROM)
Disable Service
Pokemon GO
FakeGPS (£2.99)
Lucky Patcher (Optional)

Instructions

Open DisableService
  1. Go to System

  2. Search for "Location"

  3. Select "Fused Location" & disable "FusedLocatonService"

  4. Select "LocationServices" & disable everything inside (This might not be present on AOSP roms)
This will stop the phone jumping between your actual and spoofed location.

Install FakeGPS as a System App (There are many tutorials out there)
*If you are using Lucky Patcher simply select FakeGPS and choose "Move to /system/app" then reboot your device

Open FakeGPS
  1. Enable "Expert Mode"

  2. Disable "Enable auto close"

  3. Select a location

Open Pokemon GO and see your location has changed!

Tips
  • Don't change your location to be very far away from your initial location, doing this may result in a softban

  • Don't frequently jump between many locations, find a good spot and stick to it for a bit, close the app and then chamnge location

  • You can emulate walking by selecting "Move around fake location" in FakeGPS, this will help eggs hatch

  • If you get a softban, leave your location where it is and try again in an hour or so (normally 1-3 hours)

Need Help Samsung Galaxy S4 Reset after Root; Setup Wizard crashes

I'm new to rooting. I successfully rooted my Samsung S4 by using Odin to install the OC1 and then OF1 kernels. Worked fine except that Google Play store kept crashing. So I did a hard factory reset. The phone rebooted into Setup Wizard. It asks for my language, I select English and click next. It then confirms my phone number has already been activated, and I click "next" again. This time, I get an alert window that "unfortunately, setup wizard has stopped". I can't seem to get around this message or get into the phone int a different way to bypass the setup wizard. I tried reinstalling OF1 with Odin, and the same result. I'm now stuck in this loop with a boot up into the setup wizard and it crashing after the second screen.

Your help and guidance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Every Custom ROM crashes at system setup wizard in Verizon Galaxy S3

I have a Verizon Galaxy SCH-I535, it had Android 4.3, but I downgraded it to 4.1.2 creating a custom-stock ROM.
Now I rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP 3.0.0 and tested other recoveries as well, and also flashed several ROMs, all of them correctly but when the ROMs starts, just about to show the FIRST SCREEN of the Setup Wizard, the image crashes and shows blinking colored dots.
At the end the only ROM I can have booted is the 4.1.2 that I saved.
Can anyone tell me how can I do to have a different ROM installed, and thta is correctly booted, thanks.

TV shows "chromecast..." on first time setup at the bottom of the screen

I bought a Chromecast device. When I tried to setup it, it showed "chromecast..." at the bottom of the screen and after about 3-5 seconds it goes back to the No Signal screen. The Chromecast is connected to a MINI HDMI2AV Adapter that is connected to the RCA port on my TV. Is there a way to fix it?

ONEPLUS ONE stuck in setup after unlocking / enable USB debugging with broken screen

Hey, I'm currently on the Oneplus One and have never had problems with it. A few weeks ago however, i dropped it with flipcase from 30 cm not really hard or something, no physical damage visible. But at first the touchscreen didn't respond at all and after rebooting, everything worked except for a 2 cm stripe of the lower touchscreen + capacitive buttons.

So i wanted to root it and find options to workaround this issue. But in order to do that, I needed to unlock it and delete all of the userdata + settings, so basically a factory reset. (see android-hilfe (Dot) de/thema/how-to-oneplus-one-rootanleitung-unlock-recovery-rootvorgang-von-a-z.596012/ )

Now I'm pretty much stuck in the cyanogenmod setup (set language etc.) where I can't the option 'Next' due to the broken touchscreen in the lower section (see drive.google (Dot) com/file/d/0BwIC1YNaC4EMTEdOaHYycU15T0U/view?usp=sharing )
It's really a stupid reason why I can't continue and because of that, I can't enable USB Debugging and, of course, adb. Fastboot is enabled, TWRP is installed. Any way to bypass the setup or enable USB debugging from the PC (that wouldn't really solve the CM setup issue though)

Thanks for the help!

Unable to setup phone/use mouse via OTG. [OXYGEN OS 2.1.4, OXYGEN RECOVERY]

Earlier this year I dropped my phone and broke the screen, leaving all but a small section of the upper right corner unresponsive. To get around this, I used a mouse connected to my phone via OTG to control it, which worked well. At the time I dropped the phone I was still running Cyanogen Mod 12, but after the incident I decided to upgrade to OxygenOS 1.0. The upgrade process went fairly smoothly and I was still able to use the mouse in Recovery AND Setup.

But recently after having some issues with OxygenOS 1.0 I decided to install OxygenOS 2.1.4. Again, the process went relatively smoothly, I installed OnePlus' custom Recovery, followed the instructions, and managed to flash the new ROM. Here's where my problem lies: The phone boots up fine, and because its a fresh install I am greeted with the Setup process. But for some reason, I am unable to use my mouse via OTG in the Setup screen, nor in the OnePlus custom Recovery. This means that short of sending my phone away for repair, it is a good as a pretty paperweight, as I am unable to control it using the mouse, nor control it via the computer using ABD, as I am unable to enable USB debugging. If anyone knows a possible solution for perhaps disabling the Setup process, or forcing USB drivers, or even a modified ROM to allow for this, I would be incredibly grateful. I would rather not send it away for repair if I can.

So to reiterate:
1. Running OxygenOS 2.1.4
3. I am unable to use the mouse in Setup, nor in Recovery. Drivers are not working.
4. Unable to enable USB debugging, cannot bypass Setup.
5. Possible solution includes activating ADB in recovery, flashing custom Recovery, Modified ROM.
6. If all else fails help with flashing Stock Cyanogen back onto the device would be much appreciated.

Thank you for any and all help the matter!!!

Easiest and most stable Mi5 setup

Hello everyone,

I have been seduced by the Mi5 and got one. Even I work in IT, I have never flashed a phone and actually didn't plan to do it when I bought the Mi5. I read that the original Chinese ROM had English in it.
So I was happy to just use this ROM in English and that's it (I'm not picky in term of UI).
But I had several bad surprised when I received it:
- many things are still in Chinese
- several applications, even if they are in English, present/search Chinese results (actually I should have thought about it earlier)
- I installed Google Play but some services keep on failing and several apps won't install or update

As a result, I'm finding myself having to flash the phone with a custom ROM in order to get something correct.
As explained in the title I would like to have some advises on which ROMs would be the easiest and most stable to have? I'm not looking the for most fancy or classy ROM. I just want something that would be stable, run smoothly GApps and popular apps (Facebook, WhatsApp, etc...) and works with the most vital/used features of the phone (Wifi, Bluetooth, finger-print, camera, etc...). I have seen threads about several ROMs (Cyanogen, Xiaomi.eu, Resurrection Remix, Official Global Multi, etc...) but don't know which one would suit me best.

Finally, I have done my homework before posting this message, and read how to flash a ROM (especially on the xda-university). Here are the general required steps I have noted:
  1. Enter in USB debug mode

  2. Install a custom recovery app? (I've seen you can flash them too?)

  3. Download you customer ROM into the SDcard

  4. Use the custom recovery to backup your phone (I actually don't need to backup since my phone is empty)

  5. Install the rom by selecting the zip in the root of the SDcard

That said I have seen several other methods and terms on various threads talking about specific stages or the process.
People are "rooting" the phone. Is that necessary for what I want to do? I guess so.
People are are using "flashboot". I read it's another way to flash? What is best for the Mi5?

Please don't hesitate to redirect me to some guides/tutorials if there some fundamentals I have missed.

Thanks! :good:
