Help, my lcd is broken and i need my data.

Hello,

My lovely galaxy s6 decided to break up with me :(.
The lcd is totally broken and the screen stays black and the touch wont work.
Now i need to recover my photos etc but i cant authorize my computer on my phone because the screen is dead.
The usb debug mode is off and the phone is stockrom, just had it for a few months and didnt feel like rooting it yet.

Is there anyone who can help access my phone?

Broken Links to Ubuntu Touch for P3113

I posted this in the Ubuntu Touch forum, but I am impatient and need to get a faster response. I have followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2166921 to try to install Touch on the p3113, but the device and ubuntu specific links are down. I have the device specific that I got from a mediafire link that someone posted on there, but people say that it might not work. I tried to search in http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ and the old version, but I was out of luck as I could not find the "quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip" which is the ubuntu generic file. If I DID find a quantal folder in those archives, it would always be for the desktop. In the link to the ubuntu download page for that file, "cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch-preview/quantal/mwc-demo/quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip" You can see the "ubuntu-touch-preview" part of the link, which does not exist. I'm thinking that the people hosting the server have deleted the preview, for us to be left with only a "ubuntu-touch" folder which does not contain anything to do with quantal. May someone please reupload that file if you have it?

[Q] Cellular service issues after broken display - Please advice?

Please help if you have any advice :(

I dropped my laptop on my OPO and I broke both displays (both OPO and laptop).

This sucks bad because I can barely afford to fix one, let alone two.

I did fix the OPO and - this is weird - I am getting service issues.

I went back to the repair guy (really nice person), and he opened the OPO in front of me and showed me that the antenna is well connected so no issue there.

The issue is very odd: I do get to register my sim on the network (or at least it does show my carrier) but my reception is barely there.

Now I know the OPO has issues showing signal bar (right?) but in any case my signal bar always shows no signal.

I resetted everything and even went back to stock OxygenOS firmware (I think).

Getting barely any service. Tried a different SIM - same problem.

How to backup contacts with broken screen + disabled USB debugging?

Hello everybody,

my wife has just broken the screen (and appearantly the digitizer) of her S3.

Of course the USB debugging has never been enabled ever since I bought this phone for her.

So my question is this: how can I backup the contacts without a working screen and disabled USB debugging? Is there a way? Can I enable USB debugging via ADB? The ROM in question is fully stock.

Broken Nav Bar on Stock Rom!!

Alright. This is an issue I have only had on custom roms, but never on a fully stock rom. I have the verizon V10, vs990. If I go into a fullscreen app such as a game or an app that hides the nav bar and status bar, I can drag from the right to show the nav bar, but none of the buttons work at all. This all happened after I accepted the 23A update (android 6.0.1) that I got just last week. The only way I can get out of full screen apps is to either drag the status bar down and go into settings, then go to my home screen, or open a fb messenger chat head IF I have one there, and hit the home button when that is open. I will note that having a chat head there or not does not change this situation. The nav bar is simply broken in full screen apps.

Please Help: Backing up N5X - Broken Screen

So my screen is unresponsive but I've gotten the OTG to work with my mouse.

I've enabled debugging with my mouse, and when unplug the OTG and I plug into my computer it prompts me to verify it and I have to check another box.

Is there a work around this? Or another way I can pull my files to my computer.

Also, now my phone is starting to flickr and simulate input and its making the mouse really hard to use.

[HELP] Broken screen + data recovery

Hey,

I broke my Galaxy Alpha SM-G850F's screen and am trying to recover the data from it. I've tried going into recovery mode for adb to work but so far it hasnt worked. I've also tried going into downloading mode for some kind of recognition from my computer, but It wont show my phone anywhere. If I plug the phone in when its booted normally it starts charging but I cant see it through my computer or device manager. Any suggestions?

Display broken or just some kind of software error?

I'm new here, hope I posted my problem in the correct section.

I have a problem with my display.
Since I haven't had an USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter and I wanted to back up some photos, I connected my Nexus 5X with my laptop via bluetooth (mobile data all used, no wifi close and no USB-C to USB 3.0 cable).
What should go wrong?

Well after I touched "send" the display kind of "broke" (if you can call it that). Also in the setting there is some flickering.
It is still working (well scrolling is not always working and i have to touch with some force sometimes) however it suddenly got some line and stuff. I added a few pictures to make it clear what I mean.

The phone is almost one month old. I have never dropped it, it has absolutely no scratches at all.
I already hard reset it, wiped the cache and restarted it multiple times.
Also I tried to enable / disable HW Overlay and GPU rendering - nothing helped.
I do not know what else to do? (I am getting close to believe that the display is broken)
(Only thing I didn't do yet was opening it up, thats the last thing I want to do)

Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
Any help would be nice!

My phone's screen is completely black, but i think the touchscreen works. Can someone give me a screenshot of the pop-up that appears when you connect Android KK 4.4.4 to PC ? Thanks.

Or if someone know another way to recover data? I don't think I have USB debugging ON.. How do I check, adb devices?

[HELP] Broken touchscreen on encrypted Nexus 4

Hi guys,

i tried searching the forums, but i can seem to find a solution (if it exists) to my specific problem.

The story is that i had broken my touch screen to the point where only about 1,5 - 2 cm from above are working. I am stuck at the screen where i have to enter the password to decrypt and start android, but i can't press those buttons.

So, the question is: is there any possibility at all to access the data on the phone? Some way to externally control the phone? Would ADB work in this situation?

Is a tablet with broken screen safe to use

I have a Chinese tablet with a broken screen , apart of this screen became White all the the time, while the rest of it is normal ..

The touch function is normal even in this white area.. there is a screen protector on the screen .
Of course the screen must be replaced ..
But I want to know: is there a chance that a harmful liquid or vapor or harmful gas can leak from the broken screen?.. I'm concerned mainly about MERCURY leak !
And anyway if this tablet not safe to use .. then Why ?

TWRP & USB broken? Pls help

Hey everybody, I could need some help from you.
Some time ago I flashed Ressurection Remix on to my Oneplus 2. Facing a WIFI issue I wanted to try the fix to replace the WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini with the same one from the original Rom (Oxygen OS 6.0.1 or smth). Since some time I also got the problem, that my OP2 is only listed as unknown device on for my Win7, so I wasnt able to transfer files from the PC to my OP2 via USB. I had to do it through Wifi filetransfer. Now I got a new problem: Since I flashed Oxygen OS i can't use Volume down+Power button to get into the TWRP manager I flashed long time ago. And fastboot isnt working because of the USB issue. :(
Now I really don't know what to do anymore. Maybe you got some Ideas..?

P.S.: I've tried to get USB access to my OP2 through a mac pro of a friend, but it also dont seem to get the connection to my phone...
Oxygen OS is working fine for now. But I really don't like it.

Android Pay broken, was working.

Hey all, I am running stock US unlocked Rom 1.80.617, rooted, s-off, Verizon radio, and Android pay was working fine. Just went to use it and said it couldn't work on this system,... Yada yada.. The only thing that has changed between the last time and this time I used Android pay was that I updated to SuperSU 2.76 through Android play store and I updated AdAway through xda labs. Can someone explain to me why either of those updates would have broken AP or could it be something else? Also, is there any easy way to check if I still have systemless root? Assuming I would do that with an ADB command. Can I run the command in a terminal emulator on the phone? Don't really want to boot up the computer of I don't have to. Thanks in advance.

hello guys, on my alcatel idol 3 (6045k) glass has been broken, that is a little part above lcd .lcd work fine, but lower part of touchscreen doesn't work at all.

Is it possible to backup a stock Z5 with a broken touch screen?

My phone is not rooted etc. so is there any way to access recovery mode for using ADB or something before I go get the phone fixed? Any methods to control the phone with my PC or backup my files when I cannot use the PC Companion app because I can't click MTP mode on?
Insurance will cover it so I can't flash anything, have to keep it stock. I'd appreciate any help a lot, I don't have a spare phone!

I've been using SlimRom for Z3 for a long time. Few days ago I've broken touch screen and it doesn't work anymore. I want to seel phone but I need to restore them do defaul (stock rom and wipe). How to do it without working touch screen? Should I use adb fastboot or something?

Mi3w Broken audio software

I would like to ask a question and want to find a solution for my problem. I'm facing a quite big issue which is my loudspeaker output produced cracked sound, like a lost channel of radio and it has become worse. The logcat can be found many times (attached image). I have clean flash to miui (also used qpst many times), but ended up the same. Flashed to cm12.1 and cm13, and also the same. The problem still arise. I have already asked in miui forum but ended up nothing. I also have changed to new loudspeaker twice but still the same. Connecting to headphone doesnt have any problems, no cracking sound.

Allow usb debugging broken display

Hi there,
I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9300 with broken display and I need to run a software to recover deleted files on the memory of the phone. This software requires to doo usb debugging to the phone in order to do its job. I was already able to enable it changing buold.prop using adb in recovery mode. Now the phone waits for the user to touch the "ok" button in order to allow the pc, unfurtunately my display is broken so I can't do it. Do you have any idea on how to let the phone accept adb/usb debugging connections from my pc, or to complitely disable the confirmation box and accept the requests automatically?
