Safe charging input

I have a modified USB port that can deliver about 4amps at the normal USB 5volts will that effect my phone if I charge from it? Will the phone suck to much power and damage the battery?
I'm assuming the circuitry to limit the battery from charging to fast or over charging is built into the phone and not in the charger?

Cheers guys

Is a tablet with broken screen safe to use

I have a Chinese tablet with a broken screen , apart of this screen became White all the the time, while the rest of it is normal ..

The touch function is normal even in this white area.. there is a screen protector on the screen .
Of course the screen must be replaced ..
But I want to know: is there a chance that a harmful liquid or vapor or harmful gas can leak from the broken screen?.. I'm concerned mainly about MERCURY leak !
And anyway if this tablet not safe to use .. then Why ?

Is it safe to turn S-ON?

Hi, got a quick question.

I've flashed a kernel with additional support for a few WiFi dongles.
Is it possible to run: fastboot oem writesecureflag 3,
without bricking my device, losing it's main functionality or losing data.

I'm really worried that S-Off will open a new vulnerable vector.

Did the PE1 update fix the High Android System usage? Is it safe to update with root?

I rooted my phone with the correct methods as in the threads below mine, and I purposely havent updated my phone for a while, just in case the root would only work for older system versions.

I'm just curious to know if, now that I'm rooted, is it safe to update to PE1, and will it fix the Android System battery drain? I've also downloaded all the root fixes too, as well as the Debloat, so my original System Updates app doesn't work anymore.

I would love to get just some answers from the pros on this before possibly bricking or boot looping my amazing phone. :)

Thanks!

HTC M9+ Supreme Camera: htc__622: is it safe to be rooted?

Hi all,

I've been out of the android world for a while and i got back to this attractive world with an HTC M9+ supreme camera. and a chinese tablet with MediaTeck chip in them.
i tested to unlock bootloader on the tablet using the fastboot command oem unlock but i ruined it and it is now totally dead not even turning on.

my question, is it safe to root my phone? what is the difference in rooting and unlocking bootloader between MediaTeck and Qualcomm chips as i used to develop for qualcomm and it was fairly easy to unlock and root such devices?

what do you advice me to do to remove all Chinese apps and bloatware from this phone if rooting is not going to work and if i root-only my phone without unlocking bootloader just to remove the bloatware apps can i still receive htc OTA for marshmallow and install it?

sorry for my long questions but i really need those info to get back to android ROMing and being more active toward our community.

Thank you all

[Root] Safe to remove LG apps.

So i've unlocked my bootloader and rooted my H850.

I'm looking to see what's safe to remove, I've so far removed most google apps that are pre-installed apart from the ones i need, now i ask which LG apps are safe to remove without causing problems.

Is it to safe use a power pack and the Type-C USB dash charging cable?

Hello

I understand that this may be a somewhat stupid question but I appreciate your patience with me. :P

Basically, I have a few power banks which have the CE and RoHS marks on them and they've been charging my MicroUSB devices without issue for sometime now.

However, I'm aware that there are some potential problems with certain Type-C cables and devices regarding current and the USB specification, which brings me on to my question.

Is it safe to charge the OP3 with a portable power bank and the supplied Type-C dash charge cable? I understand that obviously the phone shan't fast charge, but will it do any harm to the battery to charge it this way?

Thanks a lot for your time.

Is it safe to charge with 1.5 A charger?

Hi,
I have heard when possible don't use fast chargers like the one included with OP3 (Dash Charger) so I was thinking to charge OP3 with a Samsung charger that has 5V - 1.55A output. Is it a good idea or should I just use Dash charger every time?
Does fast chargers like Dash charger degrade battery life in the long run?

GT-S5282 - Apks safe to delete/freeze

All,

I have a rooted GT-S5282 with Android 4.1.2. I keep the phone for backup in case primary phone has a problem. It is also occasionally used for media playback.

I wanted to trim the phone down so that the performance can be improved (both battery and speed). After a detailed research on the "Internets", I came up with the following list of apks that need to be retained on the phone. Few of the apks are frozen just in case they are required in future. Safe to install custom ROM with broken CWM or how to fix it?

Hi, really in the need for help, sorry if i get any concepts wrong but I've abandoned this kind of tech knowledge years ago.
XT1032, never rooted or anything, only installed OTA updates.
About a month ago it bricked (permanently stuck at Motorola loading screen). Tried to do a factory boot but CWM shows a dead android with a ! symbol on top of it. Too lazy to study and fix it myself i got it to a technician to fix it.
Everything got back to normal but it has been starting to slug just like before it brick'd.

Been thinking that rooting and installing a custom ROM could fix it? Thing is, I'm afraid to do it with CWM in such state.

Any ideas or tutorials to redirect me? Tried to google but only got specific cases of such issue with CWM for other phones

List of apps safe to debloat?

I just downloaded the debloater tool and am trying to debloat my phone right now but the problem I have is a lot of the bloated apps are named some weird ass names when it comes to the apk file. I debloated most of the similar ones already but the stubborn Samsung ones like the Samsung music app I can't seem to be able to locate cuz I still see it waiting to be updated in Google play or the dumb ass Samsung app store. Does anyone have a list with the NAME of the APK's that is safe to disable? My god Samsung is annoying as fuk with that sht!!!!
