P9 Lite video calling

Hello,
I am a new Huawei P9 lite user and I want to make video calls on my phone. But sadly, I couldn't find a video calling option on the dialler. Can we make video calls on this phone? How to do so??
My network supports video calling and I used this feature on my previous Samsung phone. Now I have a P9 Lite and nobody here knows how to make video calls on it. :( please help.

Newbie. Questions about my Samsung Galaxy Tab E lite tablet

Hi, everyone. I'm new to the forums and am looking for a little insight on my device. I've been interested in rooting android devices for a long time and have successfully done so on a few occasions. I've used poot, kinoroot, androot and some others that escape me right now.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab E lite...
Model: SM-T113
Android Version: 4.4.4

I've accessed the developer options and enabled USB debugging...

It's unrooted right now... I have a pc laptop to do USB debugging if need be...

What i'm wanting to do guys is get the most out of my tablet by rooting and flashing for better ROM, this way I can learn and at the same time optimize my device to its fullest potential while also engaging in this new online community. The only problem I have is the reason I just cant out-right experiment with my tablet and which is why I've come here to you tech-gurus for help...
I CANNOT brick my tablet. It was a gift from my brother and the first one he bought me I accidently bricked by not doing enough research while trying to root it. He returned it and bought me an even nicer one then told me specifically not to try and ROOT it...
haha.. he should've known better.

So if anyone has an advice or keen insight on all the necessary steps to backing it up, rooting it, and maybe even doing whatever it takes to flash more ROM... I would highly appreciate it. I apologize if this new thread angers anyone.
Many thanks and I look forward to learning from you all.

P9 Lite "plastic flat" camera jpegs (P9 Lite vs P8 Lite comparison)

Just done the "in good light" comparison of camera in P9 Lite vs P8 Lite and... there is no detail in P9 Lite :(
Everything looks plastic and flat, little details are gone due to strong and agressive demosaic alghoritm in P9 Lite jpeg engine.
P8 Lite is far far better in image quality :(

Here is the comparison, please view it in 100% and just look for structure in this paving
https://s32.postimg.org/xp9jtww4z/structural.png
Please look close at the structure of the paving.
The same same happens with grass or leaves or forests in landscape and every minor detail in pictures done with P9 Lite :(

You can also see the "plastic flat" pictures done with P9 Lite in this comparison
http://www.tabletowo.pl/2016/06/15/f...uawei-p9-lite/

Do You think will be there any update of camera firmware or some RAW saving option or just some presets or settings with detail structure to restore small details?

My p8 lite won't connect to WIFI , it says refused access to network

I did a reset, updated to MM, and nothing, it won't connect to any network

P9 Lite booting lock

Hi all, i'm new to Android Phones, so i started a few days with this phone. But now i think i've done a big mistake, i tried to erase everything from the phone, in a hope to "restore" to the factory state. Instead, i think i've deleted everything from the phone, and now, it only says "Your device is booting now..." and it doesn't boot. It's unlocked and rooted, i've deleted it from the TWRP menu.

So, is there anything that i can do, to restore it back? The model i think it's the VNS-L31, i'm downloading a firmware from the L21, can it be replaced or something like that? Thankx in advance.

Guide-How to enable double tap to wake and wake gestures on P9 Lite

Hi guys,

this is a guide how you can enable double tap to wake and wake gestures (Camera, Music,..., or custom apps) on your P9 Lite.
Somehow Huawei left the options in the system root, but made in invisible in the settings (same with many other Huawei devices). This is the same method others used for the P9.
All you need is:
-rooted device
(for rooting my device I followed this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...-root-t3405701
the only thing I did different for getting SU working, was that I installed the root with the SRK-Tool and then I installed the mentioned SU-Update zip file)
-A file explorer with root access
-text editor app (I used the QuickEdit from the Playstore)

Even if this workaround worked 100% and without any problems on my device (rooted VNS-L31 on B100), your doing it on your own risk!

Step 1: Enter the file explorer and go to the root directory. Open the system folder and look for the build.prop file.

Step 2: Open the build.prop with the texteditor and search for the line ro.config.hw_easywakeup=false, now change the "false" into a "true" and save/exit the file. Just open it a again to ensure the entry has been realy changed and saved.

Step 3: Now go to the directory system/emui/base/xml, ther you open the file hw_easywakeupmotion_config.xml with the editor.

Step 4: Search for the line "EasyWakeupMotion name="Double_Touch" support="1" value="0" flag="0" keycode="131"" and change the value=0 into value=1. Again save and exit the file and ensure that it has been really changed.

Step 5: Restart your device and go into settings menu-->smart assistance-->motion controle. Now there are the options double tap and wake gestures available. You could also change the apps which are related to the different wake gestures. After activating it should be working right away. Otherwise do another restart and it should be good.

Hope everthing is working for you...I tested it now for some days and with some cases where I had to tap the display three times to wake up it worked flawlessly. There is also NO additional battery drain caused by the feature.

P8 lite B574 vs Mobile data usage management

Hey there,
2 days ago, after i got back from a wedding, i was surprised to see i used to much mobile data and got billed from my provider.
So, because i do not want to happen again, i said to myself: "I'll set a data limit for mobile data". Well i can set a limit but i cant set the billing period.
My billing period is from 8th to 7th next month. Today i'm in 25th, my mobile data is OFF, and i don't know what to do. Where can i find the setting for billing period?

I got ALE-L21C432B574, no root, no custom rom, no custom recovery, just official updates. Any advice what to do?
If i wait to be on 8th August and set the Mobile data limit, is this gonna also create a hidden billing period?

I hope someone can help me.
Regards, V.

[GUIDE] Xposed on P9 Lite

Hey everyone!

Since there is no dedicated thread for how to install Xposed for the P9 Lite yet, I thought I quickly provide the method how I made it work for future users.

What you need?
- Unlocked BL
- TWRP Installer
- Root

So you want to get the version of Xposed provided by Wanam. Version 86 for arm64 is what you are looking for! You can get it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpos...t3180960/page1

Don't worry that it says Samsung devices in the thread.
Download the zip package that you need and place it somewhere. Then download the Xposed installer apk.
For example here in the first post attached:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3034811&page=1

Install the apk.
Now it's time to fire up TWRP and make a backup!
Then flash the zip you have downloaded before. If you downloaded the right version, it should flash without errors.

Now reboot. BE PATIENT. It can take several minutes for the first boot.

That's it. You should now be able to use Xposed modules :victory:

Sidenote: some people mentioned that you may need to switch your SELinux mode to permissive. Since I had it on permissive in the first place I don't know if it's really the case.

PS: leave a like for the guys providing these awesome Xposed frameworks if you download them :good:

Reinstall android OS on p8 lite

Hello, I've made a big mistake this afternoon.
I've installed Kingroot but I had no RW permission on /system folder so I installed TWRP and just tried to format /system folder.

Now I have no Operating system and the bootloader is locked, I should have a valid IMEI code but I cannot execute the .bat script to unlock the bootloader because I cannot set "File" option in the debug mode (no os).

I did a Flash backup before acting this but I don't know how to restore it

How can I fix this? can I reinstall Huawei p8 lite firmware anyway?

P.S. If I start my phone in recovery mode I get "UNLOCKED" and an invalid link

Enable logcat on P8 lite

Tested it and it seems to work.

Copied from XDA frontpage:

Open your dialer app and enter the following code:

*#*#2846579#*#*

You won’t have to press the dial button, as entering this code will immediately bring up a settings page called ProjectMenu. Here, you have several menus to look through.

Here's a brief explanation of each page:

Background Settings – the page we’re interested in. Here, you can change debug settings, USB connection settings, and “set UI theme color” (I’m not entirely sure what the function of this option is).
Veneer Information – detailed information about the software and hardware of the device
Network Information Query – detailed information about the network capabilities of the device and the SIM card
Software Upgrade – apply updates from the SD card
Restore Factory – factory reset
Battery Charge – battery information and recommended charge levels for long-term battery longevity

Enter the Background Settings page, where you will see several options. Click on “Log Settings” to bring up a dialog box with options to select the logging level. Check all 3 options to enable full logging. You will see a toast message saying that enabling any of these logging options “will affect performance” but you can safely ignore this warning. Once you’re done with this, reboot the phone. You should now be able to collect logs on your Huawei phone. Now get out there and help our developers debug their apps!
