Slow to wake P9 & P9 Plus

I have the P9 Plus and my mom uses the P9. I've noticed a longer than usual wake up delay if there is an SDcard installed.

When pressing the power button with out an SDcard installed the device wakes up with in 1 second but if I have an SDcard installed it will add another 1 to 1.5seconds of wake time delay.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? If anyone with an SDcard wants to help me figure this out lock your device and leave it alone for at least 10 seconds then press the power button and try to observe how long the screen wakes and compare it with out an SDcard. If you just wake the phone in less than 10 seconds this then 'issue' wont appear.

The P9 is running on a B636 firmware while my P9 Plus is on C432
I've only tested it with 3 different SD cards, a Generic 16GB card, a 64Gb Sandisk UHS1 Class10 and a 128Gb Lexar Class 10 UHS1

Slow to wake

Has anyone else noticed that the phone is slow to wake, lock the screen set it down for 10 seconds and press either the power button or the finger print scanner and it takes 2-2.5seconds for it to wake. I am not sure if this is how it was before but I recently noticed it.

Guide-How to enable double tap to wake and wake gestures on P9 Lite

Hi guys,

this is a guide how you can enable double tap to wake and wake gestures (Camera, Music,..., or custom apps) on your P9 Lite.
Somehow Huawei left the options in the system root, but made in invisible in the settings (same with many other Huawei devices). This is the same method others used for the P9.
All you need is:
-rooted device
(for rooting my device I followed this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...-root-t3405701
the only thing I did different for getting SU working, was that I installed the root with the SRK-Tool and then I installed the mentioned SU-Update zip file)
-A file explorer with root access
-text editor app (I used the QuickEdit from the Playstore)

Even if this workaround worked 100% and without any problems on my device (rooted VNS-L31 on B100), your doing it on your own risk!

Step 1: Enter the file explorer and go to the root directory. Open the system folder and look for the build.prop file.

Step 2: Open the build.prop with the texteditor and search for the line ro.config.hw_easywakeup=false, now change the "false" into a "true" and save/exit the file. Just open it a again to ensure the entry has been realy changed and saved.

Step 3: Now go to the directory system/emui/base/xml, ther you open the file hw_easywakeupmotion_config.xml with the editor.

Step 4: Search for the line "EasyWakeupMotion name="Double_Touch" support="1" value="0" flag="0" keycode="131"" and change the value=0 into value=1. Again save and exit the file and ensure that it has been really changed.

Step 5: Restart your device and go into settings menu-->smart assistance-->motion controle. Now there are the options double tap and wake gestures available. You could also change the apps which are related to the different wake gestures. After activating it should be working right away. Otherwise do another restart and it should be good.

Hope everthing is working for you...I tested it now for some days and with some cases where I had to tap the display three times to wake up it worked flawlessly. There is also NO additional battery drain caused by the feature.

LG G3 no wake up

Hi all,
My LG G3 starts to have some troubleshooting... First of all I was in D855 v30b (kdz for Poland).
t starts by SD card troubleshooting : SD card was remove by android by it own decision, then read, then remove... when android wants... So I decide to remove physically the SD card and test a new one. Same trouble.
Then, a few days after, the phone does not wake up despite the fact it was turn on : black screen. I remove the battery, and try to turn on again, but after LG starting page, the screen goes to black again...
Phone is not recognized by computer despite installing last drivers.
I try to flash again the kdz but without success...
Hard reset... Nothing happen...
So, when then phone agree, I can reach the LG start page, then the android machining page is appearing a few seconds, then the screen turns into black again...
I am really disappointing !
Any idea about what happened ?
I should I restore the phone ?
Thanks in advance for the help provided !

How to get Volume buttons to wake phone in Lolipop (CM12.1)?

Hi All I'm on CM12.1 (MT2L03 cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K2-mt2) and can't seem to figure this out. I had the volume buttons waking the phone from screen off in 4.3 working great...I used that for quite a while (since I used the option to end calls with power button need volume buttons to wake screen also saves wear to power button) so the hardware supports it but not sure how to get it working on lolipop (CM12.1).

In Jellybean, I just had to add 'WAKE' after the volume keys like:

key 115 VOLUME_UP WAKE (in /system/user/keylayout to the kl files)

I tried this for CM 12.1 and it doesn't seem to work. Since it worked before I suppose it could work again if a setting is changed or something.

Also I tried adding:
ro.config.hwfeature_wakeupkey=1
to my build.prop and rebooting and that didn't work either. (Setting it to 0 disables volume key waking)

The xposed module XUtilities option: Volume rocker wake also did not work.
The xposed module GravityBox doesn't have the option or I didn't see it there.

There's this reference:
http://cyanogenmod.github.io/cm_plat...ME_WAKE_SCREEN
which refers to VOLUME_WAKE_SCREEN setting (in CM API)

In the Buttons section of CM's settings, I have the End call (Pressing the power button will end the current call) option ON. One would think this would allow the volume buttons to wake the screen if the screen goes off during a phone call so you can wake it back up without ending the call. Also with this option on, on more than one occasion I went to turn my phone on just as an incoming call came in and used the power button which ended the call...so I've gotten in the habit of using the volume up/down buttons to turn on the screen getting around that issue (also saving wear and tear on my power button).

There's an app in the play store that can do what I want called DTSO but it stays running and uses more battery power. The hardware solution that was working in 4.3 didn't require a background app to allow this feature and also didn't require extra battery power. So this isn't ideal. I'd rather have Cyanogenmod ROM directly support it or have a way to use it with it.

I want to be able to press the volume buttons and the screen come on like it used to. How?

Thank you for any suggestions :fingers-crossed::good:

Using fingerprint to wake % LOCK screen

Is there a possibility to use fingerprint sensor to wake and lock device as it is on double tap to wake without (or with) security check? I think it would be great feature to add on roms. Cheers

Power button / Screen Wake Suddenly don't work

Hey guys,

strange and frustrating problem. I was using my phone pretty extensively today (although nothing crazy), mostly thanks to Pokemon Go. Tonight after using my phone normally, I went to press the power button to turn the screen off and nothing happened. I was able to reboot (by changing one of the long-press actions to bring up the power menu via GravityBox) and then was unable to power on the phone. It seems like my hardware power button has suddenly become unresponsive. This leaves me unable to power on/off the phone, including booting into the bootloader. Also, I seem to be unable to wake my phone up by double tapping the screen or swiping up.

The phone otherwise functions fine. If I get a notification, the screen wakes up and I can use the phone. Otherwise, the only way I've been able to get into the phone is by connecting it to a computer and issuing ADB commands.

Has this happened to anyone else before? Can the power button just break like that without any water / physical damage? The fact that I also can't wake the screen makes me think it's a software issue. One other thing I suspect is that my phone abruptly died yesterday (battery died despite software thinking it still had juice left). In the past, with the modified kernel / rom, this has resulted in some nasty issues, including 4G not working and the Android system process basically exploding. I thought I lucked out when I powered it on after that, but maybe it just took a day for this issue to manifest itself.

I'm going to make a NANDROID backup and try flashing a few different things to see if I can fix it. I'll post my progress here.

Current build:
- Verizon M8, S-OFF
- TWRP
- Android GPE 6.0 (MRA58K.H13)

Double-tap to wake up is not working?

I'm using Nova launcher on my X Performance, and I allowed the double-tap to wake up function. However, I am not able to wake my XP on with only 2 taps, I almost need to tap continuously to wake it up, for about 6 to 7 times. Even I use the original launcher Xperia Home, the tap to wake function is not working perfectly.

On the other hand, when I switch to the Xperia Home and use the double-tap to sleep function, it works every single time.

I didn't activate the Stamina mode so I believe the tap function is not restricted by the Stamina. I'm wondering this is due to the memory management of Android Marshmallow (The apps is more easily to restart on XP comparing with my old phone Z2 which is still using Android 5.X)?

Does anyone using X Performance also facing this problem? Any solution to this?:(

Bluetooth calling is slow to wake phone.

I've been having a weird issue since I bought my 5X. When I make a call via my car's audio system (VW CC), it takes a long time and says "Call failed", but then will connect shortly after sometimes. I noticed if I unlock the phone via finger print, right after initiating the call, it works fine. So it seems bluetooth is not waking the phone to make the call in a timely manner? Anyone else having a similar issue? Thanks.

Not receiving notifications unless I wake screen in OnePlus 3 running Marshmallow

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone might have any suggestions on how I could disable the Android Marshmallow doze/deep sleep mode that is default on new devices to save battery. I have a OnePlus 3 and have made every effort to check that all my notifications for calendar, whatsapp, emailing, etc. are set to both vibrate and make a sound, disabled all battery optimization features for apps, tried using screenlock wake apps to avoid missing notifications, and more. However, I am still unable to get notifications for whatsapp, emails, calendar reminders and events once my screen goes to sleep or I lock then phone and it's idle (so after about 15-30 minutes of it sleeping), but calls and texts seem to come through fine (or at least I haven't noticed these being an issue as much). This is a HUGE inconvenience, as my main reason to have a smartphone is so I can check emails, calendar events and such right as I receive them, and not only when I wake up my screen (which then bombards me with all my previous missed notifications from hours before). I have a feeling this is an android 6.0 issue and not due to the OnePlus 3, because it's been reported in other sites and by people with phones also using either this OS or lollipop. My older Samsung galaxy S4 running kitkat never had these problems, and at this point I'm very keen on going back if I can't get my new phone (or this OS, as I predict) to notify me right away even when my screen is locked and phone asleep (I can't always remember to check it especially if I'm busy at work). I am willing to root the phone and change settings if that's an option, but I would please like to see if you guys have any other suggestions for allowing my phone to receive notifications right away even when in sleep mode/idle/dozing. Thank you for your time in advance. :) Oh last thing, I also posted this question in other forums because I am honestly quite desperate to find out what I can do to resolve this issue, so I'm sorry if that's an inconvenience...

Double Tap to wake...

I've been enjoying my 5c but really miss the double tap to wake function (plus it probably doesn't help the longevity of the power button), so looking for some solution I found this on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate...-wake-t3312676 ,

It's for a Huawei Mate8 but I've checked the relevant build.prop and xml file and the entries are both there but disabled. Problem I have now is I don't want to root device for the time being, is there anyway I can get temp root, without BL unlock, of perhaps do this via adb and usb debuggin 'on' ? The changes are pretty easy and minor so if someone has root on their 5c perhaps they can try it and report back. Appreciate this may also be locked/missing in the kernel but we won't know until we try, right ?

Hoping someone can reply so we can make this a better device.

I've reprodued the procedure below in case URL link doesn't work.

1) Go into system/build.prop and open it in your favorite text editor. Find the line that says ro.config.hw_easywakeup=false and change the false to true then save your changes.
2) Go to system/emui/base/xml and open up the hw_easywakeupmotion_config.xml in your favorite text editor. Find the line that says <EasyWakeupMotion name="Double_Touch" support="1" value="0" flag="0" keycode="131" /> and change the value=0 to value=1 then save your changes.
3) Restart your phone
4) Go into Settings/Smart Assistance/Motion Control and at the bottom you will now see Double Touch. Turn it on.
5) Restart your phone and you will have Double Tap to Wake enabled and working.

COS rooted with xposed. Double tap to wake does not work.

Even with no modules added as soon as xposed becomes active double tap to wake ceases to function. I can get it to sleep on double tapping the notification bar but the wake up function is not working.
