Samsung Galaxy Note II (SGH-T889) suddenly stuck in reboot loop, please help

A few weeks ago I installed Resurrection Remix on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-T889) following the instructions of this site:
teamandroid[dot]com/2016/03/08/update-tmobile-galaxy-note-2-t889-android-601-resurrection-remix-marshmallow-custom-rom/2/

Everything worked great for two weeks, my phone had better battery life, had the new OS, even played Pokemon Go (which it wasn't supposed to be able to do). However, yesterday it crashed when I was surfing Chrome on IGN's mobile website, and ever since has been stuck in boot loop. It boots up, optimizes # of # apps, and reboots. I can't stop it.

The thing is, since it's this way, I'm not sure how to get it back to flash it or anything. The recovery mode seems like it's back to the Odin crap again instead of the CWM recovery mode, and I can't download/install stuff on it in the current state, etc.

It's an old phone so I suppose I could go get a new one but meh. I love my Note 2. Never had a problem till now. Any ideas? Thanks!

cant get twrp work, everything is fine, upload ok , cant reboot to recovery

Drivers installed, flashtool working, upload OK (green screen) , but when i try to reboot, (volume + and power) it is not opening recovery mod, but it reguraly start up the phone without jumping to TWRP - got 20160608 rom . [GUIDE] Fix On Stuck TWRP Reboot Bug w/o Odin

How To Fix Stuck On TWRP Reboot Bug
For TWRP 2.8.4.0 and up only

Code:

/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/

Hi guys this is my first guide here on xda. I've just want to share what I have discovered.

If you ever encountered a TWRP bug like when you reboot, instead of rebooting into the system. You're rebooting in TWRP recovery again and again and again. So i have a simple fix that i've found out..

This will revert your phone's recovery to stock recovery. And make sure that your TWRP version is 2.8.4.0 Above

This is just another way of resolving the bug. Specially if you do not have a PC. And just a copy of file needed for this fix.

So let's get started.

1. First. Download CF-Auto-Root for your specific device.
Download CF-Auto-Root Here

2. Extract it and get the .tar file.

3. Extract the .tar file and take the recovery.img and put it on your External Sdcard or Internal Storage.

4. Now, open TWRP Recovery and select install.

5. On your Corner of the screen. Find and tap Images..

6. Now locate your recovery.img and select it.

7. It will prompt a selection. Select Recovery and Install.

8. After flashing, go back to your home screen of your TWRP Recovery and Select Power then Power off. Do not flash SuperSU if it prompts. Just ignore it.

9. After turning off. Open up your device again and SuperSU Installing screen will pop up. Just wait a few seconds and it will flash stock recovery..

If it turns off after flashing stock recovery, power it on again and it should work.

Let me know if it also works on you.
Good Luck ! :good: :fingers-crossed: ]

CM 13 stuck at Reboot animation. Help please!

It's been stuck at this loading screen for hours. Are there any ways out of this? I cant power off nor can I connect it to my PC. It always rebooted perfectly until I flashed the 5.0 version of ElementalX. Then this happened. Hope to hear some input asap as I'm trying my best not to panic. No other kernels are on here except for micro gapp and CM 13. I would remove the battery pack, but might as well get a new phone at that point. I would post a picture but I'm a new user so I'm restricted. Thanks!

Can't reboot into download/recovery mode

Tried searching for a recent thread but I couldn't find one. So I got an S7 from T-Mobile today and was able to successfully root, I flashed it with ODIN but then saw it didn't have TWRP recovery. I tried flashing it, but unfortunately now I can't reboot into recovery/download mode. Is there any fix to this? Also any fix to reboots forgetting wi-fi passwords?

Any help is appreciated.

Some apps disappearing after reboot

I have an android Marshmallow device. I put a 32 GB memory card in my device. I split it to 2 partition so i could use one as internal storage and the other as external.

I used the following command to split the SD Card:

sm partition disk:179:128 mixed 50

After that, I installed many apps. When i reboot the device, the apps that are stored in the SD card are removed. I don't know why?

Root soft reboot to modified kernel

Since it's now possible to root with a developer kernel I was wondering if it would be possible to use that to reboot to a modified stock modified kernel.

One example is how the Xbox 360 hacks work. The bootloaders are signed so you can't load a modified hypervisor and kernel. So the way it was achieved was by using a hypervisor exploit to go back and load a modified bootloader with the signature checks removed and then soft rebooting into the entry point and then booting from there which made it so a modified hypervisor and kernel could be used. I contributed and wrote a few patches for that.

I'm not too familiar with the android boot process or how the root actually works I was wondering if there were any specifics about how it works.

If achieved it would be possible to use the development root to load a stock kernel that's modified and has root. So it would solve issues like battery and heat issues.

Thank you

Touchscreen problem - On first touch reboot

Hello, for abou two months I have installed the JDC AOSP firmware on my phone. I encountered many faults and bugs on this rom, and the best of all was the sd corrupt and the last days wasn't even opening. When i touched the screen it was rebooting, so i decided to go back on officiak firmware. I installed two different official firmwares but still the problem remains. On the first touch it reboots. What could possibly go wrong? thank you

Reboot with no results?!

Hi. I made a mistake in build.prop in density and I made the density from 120 to 240. Then I pulled it to my PC and corrected it. Now, I have only to push it. When I do: "adb push C:\Users\Dell\Desktop\build.prop /sdcard/build.prop" it says: [100%] /sdcard/build.prop" all good. Then I type: "adb reboot" it reboots but it doesn't show any results. Any ideas? Thanks in ADVANCE

Link2sd not working after reboot

SO I created the partitions with TWRP, installed Link2SD, got the paid version, moved a few apps and all worked fine.
After reboot I get a message saying something like "some obb and external data couldn't be relinked, I hit recreate links but the games are broken anyway.
Anyone knows how to fix this, is this occurring on other ROMs (Have MIUI 8 Global Developer ROM)?

Thanks for the help

Permissions reset and sync disabled after every reboot

Hi all, I'm running a One m8 (t-mobile) with stock everything, no root, only oddity is that it is S-OFF. Every time I reboot the phone (or it reboots itself - rare), some (not all) of the Marshmallow permissions for apps are reset, and I'm asked again for numerous apps for access to camera, contacts, etc.. Additionally, Sync ends up being disabled for a large number of settings, including most (but not all) Google sync options. Super weird!

I tried zapping Google Play Services (revert to system version, clear data, then upgrade), which sometimes fixes weird things like this, but no luck.

Anyone have any ideas on what would be causing this and how to prevent it?

Tablet causing Verizon router to reboot.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced their tablet causing their router to reboot. Ever since the update to MM if I have my SGp612 connect through wifi to my Verizon (now frontier) router it will cause it to reboot.

It doesn't happen immediately but after a while of using it the router will reboot. If I turn wifi off on the tablet or have it connect through wifi to one of my Apple airport devices (which I setup on a different SSID than the Verizon router) the router will never reboot. Only once I reconnect to the tablet to the Verizon router will it reboot after some use.

The Verizon router is an actiontec with the following info.

Firmware Version:40.21.18
Model Name:MI424WR-GEN3I
Hardware Version:I

Sent from my SGP612 using Tapatalk

Twrp does not let me reboot.

My phone is rooted, so I tried to get Xposed Framework. (G920I, using xposed framework for arm64)

After flashing the zip through twrp, I pressed the reboot button, but it only darken ( like when you press a button. )
But in stead, it just freeze there. I read that you are expected to wait for 10-20 mins, so I waited.

But after 1 min, the screen turn dark, so I tried to swipe to unlock it, but once again, it freeze. I just leave it there and waited for half an hour.

I panicked and press Home+vol down+ power button. It restart and put me back at the twrp menu again. I tried to Reboot>System, but the same thing happened as above, the botton was darken and freeze. I don't know what to do now...:crying:

*Because it's my first time with twrp, I downloaded an app from the google play to let me get into the twrp faster w/o going through the big android window as most tutorial showed on other sites. elp
Thank you in advance.
