HTC one x+ stuck at boot animation of any flashed ROM

Hello, I've unlocked the bootloader of my HTC one x+ and flashed CWM recovery. After that I downloaded cyanogenmod 11, 12.1, carbon 5.1.1 ROM. After flashing the zip file of the ROM and installing Gapps and wiping of cache, user data and dalvik cache I reboot the phone, and now the phone is stuck at the boot animation of the respective ROM. Tried flashing multiple times but to no avail.
Please help.

[Q] Making a custom boot animation

Hello,

i have been looking for instructions on how to actually create my own boot animation.

The only things I found here was a guide on how to place boot animations, how to create one from a video file and a tool on how to make your own boot animation....

however:
there is actually no instructions or I have not seen them how to actually make the boot file, I want to something similar to evervolv boot animation with my own text. the tool seems the way to go but it says that I need part files, how to make them what do I actually need to do? a pointer would be really helpful and appreciated.

thanks

K

CM 13 stuck at Reboot animation. Help please!

It's been stuck at this loading screen for hours. Are there any ways out of this? I cant power off nor can I connect it to my PC. It always rebooted perfectly until I flashed the 5.0 version of ElementalX. Then this happened. Hope to hear some input asap as I'm trying my best not to panic. No other kernels are on here except for micro gapp and CM 13. I would remove the battery pack, but might as well get a new phone at that point. I would post a picture but I'm a new user so I'm restricted. Thanks!

Encryption never starts, stays at boot animation.

Hey there!

For security purposes, I'd like to encrypt the data on my Nexus 6P. However, the encryption process fails to start. My phone goes into the boot animation, and it stays there permanently. Interrupting the process does not result in data loss: the phone reboots just fine, all my data is accessible, and it runs good as new. What this tells me is that something is preventing the encryption process from starting in the first place. My problem is that I am not particularly well versed in these matters, and I'm at a loss for how to proceed.

I have made a full Nandroid backup and saved it on my PC, so I'm willing to do some experimenting if there's no easy solution.

I am running the MTC19X build of stock Android. I've made two significant modifications: SuperSU systemless root, and systemless Xposed. In terms of other weird stuff, I have AdAway (from F-Droid) running.

Things I've attempted which did not solve the problem:
  • Starrted encryption process, left running overnight. No joy. I'm fairly sure it's not just me being impatient, but I'm open to just leaving the thing plugged in for 24 hours to see if that works.

  • Disabled Xposed Framework and used SuperSU app to disable root. Tried again, nothing changed. Open to trying again by fully uninstalling these and seeing what happens, but would prefer not to re-root and set up from scratch again.

  • Inspired by a solution that worked for a similar problem on my old Moto G, I reduced the size of the /data partition by a small amount, leaving a small amount of unallocated space on my device. (On the Moto G, this solved a problem where Android had no place to put certain data relating to the encrypted files.) Worked with the Moto, but no such luck this time. Could go in and reverse this change if necessary, or reduce the size of the partition even more.

One interesting idea comes from a Nexus support thread (which I can't link because this is my first post), which suggests that some app or another could be holding files open and preventing the process from starting. I'm not sure what could be doing that, aside from Xposed or other root-related stuff, but I feel I covered that by disabling root on my last attempt. If anyone has any ideas on this front, though, I'm all ears.

I also took the liberty of running ADB's logcat feature, which suggests that the "data is busy" hypothesis is correct:

Looking these over makes me think the BOINC app might be the problem, so I figured I'd uninstall it and try again. I'm watching the boot animation right now; wish me luck!

Anyway, if anyone else has any other ideas (especially after reading those logs, I'm not at all an expert on these matters so I definitely don't completely know what I'm looking at), I'm all ears.

Thank you all for your time.

Help with changing the boot animation

Hi,
I've recently been playing with the boot animations, and have successfully created my own bootanimation.zip which I placed inside /system/media. Before my boot animation plays however, I get a white screen similar to the one shown below (slightly different, and also an image, not an animation).

This isn't in my bootanimation.zip, and I have no idea how to delete/ change it. Anyone got any ideas?

(running XPower 3.0)

Nexus 4, stuck on animation for all android versions 5.X and 4.4 - 4.3 but not 4.2.2

Hi,

I was out and my Nexus 4 get discharged, when I get home I tried to plug and power on, the first time stuck on the animation circles (android 5.1.1), I tried one more time and stuck again in the animation, again I let it to see if could needs more time (~45 min later) I see that is stuck in the same part, circles animation, so here what I did:

1. Restart the device fastboot, recovery mode, wipe cache partition (tested, didn't work)
2. Restart the device fastboot, recovery mode, wipe with factory reset (event loosing data, tested like 6 times, didn't work).

I tried the process above like 6 - 10 times, and nothing, so I decide to format the device and install a new factory image from google "occam" for Nexus 4.

https://developers.google.com/androi...s/images#occam

I tried first with 5.1.1 (LMY48T) downloading the .tgz, unpacking, go to the unpacked folder, connect the devices in fastboot mode and run:

sh flash-all.sh (I'm mac)

Everything get done and the new system get installed into the device, the device restart once that the installation finish and start loading in the animation, get stuck again.

So I tried the same with all the differents versions of android available for nexus 4, this is the list I tried using the same process above:

5.1.1 (LMY48M)
5.1.1 (LMY48I)
5.1.1 (LMY47V)
5.1.0 (LMY47O)
5.0.1 (LRX22C)
5.0 (LRX21T)
4.4.4 (KTU84P)

None of that list works, so I tried one more time and install 4.2.2 (JDQ39), that one works O.O..... and the phone pass the animation and start normally, later, phone download the next update available (4.3 (JWR66Y)) so I think that thing could work, so I click to install the update downloaded, it broke and the phone stuck again in the loading animation event for the update installed by the phone.

I event tried to install Android 6.0 following this:

http://wccftech.com/how-to-flash-chr...-0-on-nexus-4/

It get installed but get stuck again in the animation of android 6 :\

This is some other's resource I read and tried:

http://forums.androidcentral.com/goo...animation.html

http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...xus-4-t2389189

http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...5-1-1-t3121550

I don't know what else can I do, any help will be welcome :)

Can someone tell me why doesn't my boot animation work?

As far as I can tell, it has all the right bits. 24 PNG files numbered in sequence, desc.txt in the right format, and ZIP file is set to "STORE", uncompressed. It's just 24 frames from a "starfield" animation I screen capped from LIghtspeed the screensaver, converted to PNG, rotated 90 degrees so it's portrait, and that's it.

I put the file in the /system/media subdir (renamed original to bootanimationold.zip) but the system didn't boot with it. It did the default "shadows over Android" bootanim instead. (the original bootanim was 6.0 default "dots" animation)

It's probably something simple, but it's 2AM and I can't think. If y'all spot my stupidity first, please enlighten me.

Stuck in boot animation

So, I was changing taskbar's icons and in order to apply the change I had to reboot the phone. When I rebooted it it got stuck in the boot animation. I tried going to the recovery mode and wipe data and cache and I still get stuck on the boot animation. I even tried to flash a ROM but it says "Installation aborted". How can I solve this problem?

adb Sideload cm13, stuck on boot animation

Hi- I've recently gotten ahold of a old SE xperia arc, it was stock ICE, non-bootloader unlocked, not rooted etc.

I've unlocked the bootloader w/ sony's webpage where you fill in imei etc,
I go for installing a custom rom, namely the cm13 from the LX Project page ( http://legacyxperia.github.io )

i extracted the boot.img from the zip, did fastboot flash boot boot.img .
when i enter recovery after doing this, I have no option to flash from sdcard, where i've put the romzip, the only option i see is sideload, I've never used adb sideload functionallity before, i'm used to do it from the sdcard inside the clockwordmod recovery.

Anyway, formated /system, etc., fired up adb, did the sideload, and then rebooted.

Now the device is stuck in boot animation of marshmellow. What to do?

Installed TWRP, phone forever on boot animation. Need data from device

Hey, I haven't rooted my phone in years, and thought I'd try it to goof around with some stuff. When thinking of backing it up, I thought I had everything off of it that I cared about, only to realize afterwards that I don't have my recent videos of my child backed up.

1. I allowed for unlocking in dev options
2. Boot into fastboot mode
3. Flashed recovery TWRP 3.0.2 bullhead
4. Boot into recovery

TWRP asked me for my pattern to unlock my phone. I gave it the correct pattern, and it keeps saying that it's wrong and can't unencrypt. I gave up on flashing superSU since I couldn't boot, and now my phone won't boot.

I've tried flashing an older TWRP on (2.8.7.2) to try to get things back up and running, but no. Any help would be appreciated!

[Request]Custom Boot Animation

Been playing pokemon go a lot. Was wondering ifnsnyone would be kind enough to take time out of their busy schedules to create a boot animation for me. Been searching for 2 and a half hours and can't find anything that I want.

I'm wanting it to be like the start screen for pokemon sapphire, but altered. In the same font as pokemon, would like it to say android. And instead sapphire version, be marshmallow version. And instead of copyright Nintendo at the bottom, have it copyright to google for 2016.

Is this even possible? How much work would it entail. If someone could teach me how to do the editing I would have no issue doing it myself. I'll attach a gif for a reference and/or starting point. Thanks for anyone who would consider this.
