Note 4 detect SD card but can't read it!

I have a very specific problem that I have been trying to solve.

I have a Galaxy Note 4.

For the past few days, my phone has not been able to read the SD card and is stuck on "Preparing SD Card"

Here are the facts I have come up with:

- My phone will not read any SD card and will continuously stay at "Preparing SD card" no matter how long any card is in the phone
- The current SD card can be read in others phones and my computer.

This leads me to believe the SD card is not corrupted and that the files may still be able to be accessed. The other info I have found from forums tells me the best way to get the phone to read an SD card again is to reset it, but I don't want to do that.

Try to use app name [ SD insight ] from the market, it can read the manufacturing of SD and all the information! But still cant browsing the file.

I would be so appreciative of any suggestions.

HTC One M8 doesn't read sim card after flashing ROM

My HTC One M8 got stuck on bootload shortly after I asked O2 to unlock it. The bootload said ***software status: modified***
After a lot of research, I came accross a tutorial to fix a soft bricked device via TWRP and managed to flash a new ROM on it. I choose Stock ROM's (Android 4.4.4 + HTC Sense 6.0 | Latest: 3.28.401.9)/ stock HTC system dump that I found on android-revolution HD website and everything went very smoothly.

So my M8 is now starting and working fine, BUT doesn't read sim cards. It doesn't tell me whether a sim card is inserted, and if I put my Vodafone Malta sim card in, nothing happens, no error of reading, nothing. (if was working fine after the unlock code was put in).
I also noticed that HTC SDK API level now says unknown. And under mobile data>Network mode where I don't see 4G anymore.

I've received OTA update but can't install them. I get the "We have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of its system software. For your protection, we cannot update your phone. Please revert your phone to the official HTC system software to update your phone. If you did not modify your system software or would like help reverting your system, please contact us via the support section at www . htc . com".

I thought that maybe installing a new ROM would be the solution and tried various RUU to no avail (159 error). I also tried using fastboot to flash 0P6BIMG_M8_UL_M60_SENSE70_MR_HTC_Europe_6.12.401.4 _Radio_1.29.214500021.12G_20.72.4196t.01_release_4 64360_signed.zip
But it failed with 42 Wrong Customer ID (wrong CID).
I tried to amend android-info.txt but 1/windows won't open the zip (I am on Windows 7) - 2/ 7zip will but won't let me copy or edit the file (unsupported compression method error).

I am very much a newbie and I am not very keen on going S-Off as yet and would like to have opinions on what my next move could be, staying S-On.

My main concern isn't the updates but the non reading of my sim card. That's the main thing I'd like to resolve (and I thought that flashing a new ROM could be the solution - correct me if I am wrong!)

Read Full Message In Notification Area (Multiple Messages)? (Android 5.1)

Hello,

by pulling down the notification it's possible to read the full message when there is only one message, but when there are multiple messages (in the same app, whatsapp for example) it's not possible to read long messages because they are shortened. And not just in the notification area, also in the lockscreen. Is there any way to expand the message, maybe with xposed? As I know there is no xposed module.
Any other ideas?

phone wont read sim card

So I got a used lg g3 rooted from angs electronics on ebay. And it won't read my sim from my gs5 they are both gsm phones. It has montary rom installed and I was thinking that could be the problem? If I reinstall android operating system without unrooting? I also was thinking it could be hardware. This is my first attempt at having a rooted phone and its been a lot to take in so all help is appreciated? Thanks in advance.

TWRP can't read internal SD Card

Hey all, for whatever reason my TWRP wont read my internal SD. I also get a a lot of red flags while flashing, yet things seem to flash fine through the external SD....

Is this common?

SD card read failure

Every so often I get an error saying the sd card is corrupt or not working or something, and photos or music on the card will not open. After a hard reset, it works fine. Is this common? The card is basically brand new but I suppose it could be that.

Unable to read SD Card

I am having a issue with my G900T reading and SD Card.
When it is inserted into the GS5 it says unsupported SD Card (sometimes it even says the brand name, ie unsupported Sandusky sd card. Now I have tried multiple SD Cards of various sizes and brands. I have tried the same SD Cards in different devices and they work. I have deleted & and created a new partition and try to format it. When I boot into TWRP and the card is in the phone TWRP flashes over and over until I pull the battery. The type of card I am trying to get working on the phone is a 64GB Samsung EVO SDXC card. I have also used 16GB cards and I get the same result.

This happens on both factory 6.0.1 and CyanogenMod 13.

Could this mean the card reader is dying? Or is there a simple or not so simple fix?

Hi everyone, is there any way to mark a notification as read when swiping it? I have goodlock and root. I tried looking for some xposed module but couldn't find any, there's xnotification which kind of works for whatsapp but can't install that with goodlock and doesn't work super well even without it. Do I need to revert to read only ?

I've just bought a Nexus 5X and wanted to root it with systemless method for being able to get OTA in futur.
I've booted to TWRP to flash SuperSU zip but I've made the mistake to use the slider when TWRP ask if I want to keep the system as read only.
Is there an easy way to revert back without the reflashing the rom ?
And is there a way to boot to TWRP from android (if i keep the. .img on my phone) ?

My computer won't read my microSD

So I bought one of those 64GB Samsung EVO microSD cards, and I wanted to move the files from my previous one (same type of microSD but with 32GB). When I plug the 32GB one into my computer, it asks me what I want my computer to do (e.g. open the files in a folder). However, when I plug in the 64GB microSD, I am not given this prompt, and if I try to open it from "My Computer" it says that it isn't formatted. I tried formatting using the prompt it gave me asking if I wanted to format it, but it said that it couldn't be formatted. So I tried using SDFormatter and it seemed to work fine, but when I tried opening it my computer still said that it wasn't formatted. I formatted it in my phone (LG V10 with T-Mobile, if that's important) after that, but my computer still says that it isn't formatted. Can anyone help?

[Help] External Sdcard andoid folder read only

Good Evening/Hello/Hi,

I own a Motorola Moto g3 2015 and I am running stock firmware (6.0.1), unrooted and bootloader locked. When I try to move any files from external sdcard android folder FX explorer says the content is read only, in es explorer I can copy and paste in any other location and then delete the content from android folder. There is no Cut and Paste from external sdcard android folder only copy and paste. I can delete or rename the files or folders, create new file/folders.

Is this a problem in every marshmallow devices, is there anyone else who faces this issue. This makes issues when I need to move a file which is larger then the free space of sdcard, because direct cut and paste is not possible.
