Galaxy S5 Stuck On Splash Screen with Set Warranty Bit: kernel ---please help

First post, So hey everyone :D

So I rooted my phone around 6 months ago with CF Auto Root, everything went fine but i was still on stock ROM. So then i found the Alliance ROM and decided to flash that because it looked cool. I flashed it using FlashFire to ensure I keep root. Everything worked and booted just fine, really smooth and of course it looked awesome. One small problem though, I could not send messages but I could receive them. Probably a SMSC (that was around 3 hours of head ache attempting to fix that) issue or because Straight Talk didn't like my phone using Android 5.0. So then I tried downgrading to Alliance 4.4.2, NOPE. That was the end of my phone :'(

Im now stuck on the Galaxy S5 screen with "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel" in the top right. No idea how to fix it and obviously knox was tripped but that isnt a huge deal to me.

I have tried the following.

1. Tried to reroot (seemed to fix a lot of issues actually)

2. Tried to reflash Alliance ROM android 5.0

3. Multiple cache and system wipes.

4. Installed TWRP through Odin but thats useless because I was dumb and deleted my back up in the system wipe :(

Im currently downloading stock ROM but my hope for that is fading judging that TWRP even stalls out and the phone reboots right when it attempts to flash.

What i have access to:

1. Recovery

2. Download

Is my phone already 6ft under or is it hanging on for dear life?

Thanks for the help!

Rooting and warranty?

I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge today and I'm already inclined to start customizing it. I am the type of people who get obsessed with the variety of custom ROMs, tweaks, modifications, etc. and I was a die-hard development fan on my M7 and M8. I went for an iPhone 6 Plus for a while but now I am back and more eager than ever!

I had a Galaxy S5 for a little while (one of the worst phones I've owned, to be quite honest) and I remember there was something called "knox" or similar, which is triggered whenever you use ODIN to root or install a custom ROM, therefore voiding your warranty; is it the same case with the S7? I'm currently doing research about its development and how things work with it, but it's just an important question I haven't found an answer to yet.

With the HTC, for instance, you could do everything then just run a RUU and go back to fully stock without voiding anything.

And by the way, are there any custom ROMs you'd recommend? I was a huge fan of Viper ROM on all my HTC devices (One X, M7, M8) but I don't see that team developing for the S7.

Thank you for your time!

Restoring back to pure stock for warranty replacement

My phone is screwing the pooch, and I opened a warranty claim. I reflashed back to stock from the U firmware following the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/veri...-edge-t3344092 but that custom lock is still on the boot screen. Is there a way to remove it? I googled around and found Triangle Away, but I am not sure. Any ideas?

Warranty with custom ROM?

I have read threads about warraty but they only deal with TWRP, root and such.

I talked to the Live Chat and they said that one can flash a custom ROM if e.g. the motherboard is damaged due to overclock.

My first question then: If I choose to flash a stable rom that underclocks the CPU and nothing more, or at least nothing that can damage the motherboard, do i still keep my warranty?

Another question: If i delete all data and do a factory reboot, can oneplus see that i have flashed a custom rom Before the delete of the data?
What i want to say is, will it, at this Point, look like i have only rooted the phone, installed TWRP and nothing else?

Build Quality and warranty?

So I'd like to start off with how much I absolutely LOVE my XZ3+, and that It is by far my favorite device I have ever owned or seen, usually I go threw them like hotcakes.
But unfortunately, 6 months in and my device is experiencing some trouble. On the left hand side the screen is starting to yellow, and sony said they'd replace it for free regardless of warranty status assuming it wasn't due to misuse such as squishing it or being in the heat.
Well, I'm pretty sure I didn't squish it and it's getting worse over time so, no one incident happened, and I never go outside so... honestly though it does kind of look like a finger indentation exactly where I hold the phone., and I don't use the case as I am a firm believer in using my device naked. Like why would you buy an expensive, beautiful new shiny phone and then cover it up, effectively hiding it from the world and all the admirers.

So the warranty repair would take a minimum of fourteen days. That's a long time to go without my phone. Should I send it in for repair/replacement or just buy a new phone.
I wish the Xperia Z line wasn't dead, I'd gladly buy a new one instead but since it is and I don't really like the X line, I might be moving to samsung and have to put up with the stupid bottom button.

Advice, suggestions, anyone else experience a similar issue or having to do with warranty, your input would be greatly appreciated :)

If I unlock my bootloader, do I loose my warranty forever?

So, if I unlock my bootloader and my phone gets bricked and needs service, will I be able to use my warranty? If not, is there a way I can make the phone look like it has not been modified in any way(ex: maybe lock the bootloader again or something like that) so that I can use my warranty?

Thanks in advance.

Unable to return to stock for warranty repair

So my phone has had a crack in it for about 2 months now. I have TEP, but the deductible is 0. Just started a new job, not getting any hours, and raise two kids by myself, so there is no way I could pay it. Now, on top of that, the USB port has gone bad in the phone. This part, I would think would be a manufacturers warranty deal, but the problem is, phone is rooted with custom ROM. I am absolutely sure it is the USB port on the phone that is bad, so there is no way for me to ODIN back to Stock. I know I'm grasping at straws here, but does anyone have any suggestions that could ease my pain a bit?

Thanks in advance,
Yamus

Can I re-lock bootloader (or is it needed)? Must send out for warranty.

The camera module's pooched (started failing in 5.1 with not being able to focus on near objects, now it won't run at all). Weird shenanigans in 5.1 as opposed to the stock 4.3 that it came from. In 4.3, I can run Flashlight, but Gallery crashes when Camera is run. Front camera works intermittent - rear camera not at all. In 5.1, I cannot run either the camera app or Flashlight (quick access menu) and if Flashlight is pressed, the LED will shine for 5 seconds, turn off, and the Flashlight icon will stay half-lit until the phone is soft-reset. 5.1 gives the notification "cannot start the camera - make sure 3rd party apps (such as Flashlight) aren't running" (with everything disabled).

The only constant is that the rear camera will not function in either Android environment.

It's still under warranty with Wind, do I even need to worry about the unlocked bootloader or no? Either of these were stock Android with no root.

SM-G930T Root Doesn't Void Warranty

The latest root method for the Samsung Galaxy S7/S7E (AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon/Sprint)
Does not void warranty and also does not trip the KNOX counter.
In order to remove root (un-root) you can flash the original firmware in Odin.
Also to answer any further questions the root does work on the latest T-Mobile update for the S7
(G930TUVU3APG1).

Yellow "set warranty bit kernel": What is this?

I just installed TWRP and rooted my N910F stock MM Note 4. I noticed then on the first reboot this message in top left in yellow writing.

What is it about? is it bad? Is it related to knox for "modifying" stock android, and there for warranty purpose? Also can I remove it?Thanks

Axon 7 Warranty in Europe?

ZTE have been very quiet about the warranty in Europe, has anyone got an idea whether it will come with Passport 2.0 or is it just standard 1 year warranty?

Root and device warranty

Hello, I have a little question... Does the root permissions ufficially void warranty? In other forums someone told me it doesn't so I can send my device in service without problems, but googlin' "root and warranty" I found the contrary. I do not have installed any custom rom and recovery, waitin' for your aswer.

S7 Edge adoptable storage warranty.

So i'm picking up a S7 Edge soon and I'l probably buy Kingston's SDCA3 64gb microSD
You can't adopt SD storage on the S7, you need to use ADB to do it. Will my warranty still be intact if i adopt SD storage through ADB?

no function at all after crash - 1d after warranty repair

Yesterday I got my G4 back from the warranty repair for the bootloop error.
Now it crashed the first time and then got stuck at the bootloader... So I removed the battery to reinsert it - and there's no function at all.
Plugging in the power cord doesn't show up a little charging animation and trying to boot/to enter stock recovery doesn't show up the LG logo at all...

... thats my first Android device I had not getting managed to survive power loss, at least the bootloader should be that power-loss proof to survive a reboot and a reset during execution - not making the whole phone unusable...

Bought a Galaxy S7 Edge from EbaY, seller doesn't give Samsung warranty.

Hello,

As on the title, I bought a Galaxy S7 Edge from EbaY, seller doesn't give Samsung warranty. When i asked is there a Samsung Warranty for the phone? He didn't go into details and said we give 1 year seller warranty. It was £445, not fake but i noticed there is a black spot on the middle left side of the display. When i contacted to him regarding the issue, he offered £100 more discount. Why do you think he doesn't give a Samsung warranty? Should i take the offer?
