Galaxy S5 Stuck On Splash Screen with Set Warranty Bit: kernel ---please help

First post, So hey everyone :D

So I rooted my phone around 6 months ago with CF Auto Root, everything went fine but i was still on stock ROM. So then i found the Alliance ROM and decided to flash that because it looked cool. I flashed it using FlashFire to ensure I keep root. Everything worked and booted just fine, really smooth and of course it looked awesome. One small problem though, I could not send messages but I could receive them. Probably a SMSC (that was around 3 hours of head ache attempting to fix that) issue or because Straight Talk didn't like my phone using Android 5.0. So then I tried downgrading to Alliance 4.4.2, NOPE. That was the end of my phone :'(

Im now stuck on the Galaxy S5 screen with "Set Warranty Bit: Kernel" in the top right. No idea how to fix it and obviously knox was tripped but that isnt a huge deal to me.

I have tried the following.

1. Tried to reroot (seemed to fix a lot of issues actually)

2. Tried to reflash Alliance ROM android 5.0

3. Multiple cache and system wipes.

4. Installed TWRP through Odin but thats useless because I was dumb and deleted my back up in the system wipe :(

Im currently downloading stock ROM but my hope for that is fading judging that TWRP even stalls out and the phone reboots right when it attempts to flash.

What i have access to:

1. Recovery

2. Download

Is my phone already 6ft under or is it hanging on for dear life?

Thanks for the help!

[GUIDE] How to Create Custom Splash Screen (Boot Logo) for Wileyfox Swift

Creating custom splash.img for Wileyfox Swift:

Note:
This is not bootanimation, this is the splash screen (the 'Wileyfox' logo which is displayed when device is switched ON)
This is for Wileyfox Swift only..

Before proceeding, make sure fastboot is setup properly in your computer (just incase something goes wrong)..

STEPS:

1. Make sure you have a picture for your custom splash with:
i. Resolution: 720x1280
ii. PNG or JPG format
iii. picture size less than 200kB
iv. less colorful

(Tip: Try compressPNG.com to reduce no. of colors in PNG picture.
Upload your picture, click Settings, reduce number of colors to 16 or below & download it)

2. Download this tool to your computer: CM_Splash_Maker.zip
And extract it.

3. Drag & drop your splash picture on the file "CREATE_Logo.bat" & select your device.

4. After the custom splash image (filename.img) is created, the output directory will be opened..

5. Transfer the filename.img to the device's internal storage & flash it using Terminal Emulator like:

Code:

dd if=/sdcard/filename.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/splash

(Or you can flash it from fastboot as given below)

Note:
Incase you flashed & your device doesn't bootup, don't worry ;)
Just flash the original splash.img from fastboot like:

Code:

fastboot flash splash splash.img

Credits:
1. Based on my original tool for Yu devices here..
2. @GokulNC (myself ;)) who created this tool..
3. @beroid (who provided the stock splash.img & tested this).

Hit the Thanks :good: button if it worked for you ;)

You're welcome to post the custom splash screens that you made :)

Change kernel Boot splash on rooted Stock Rom?

Did anyone know how to change the kernel bootsplash on MM 6.0.1 stock, because when I unpacked the modified stock kernel that I made with Tobias's Tool, replace the "logo.rle" in the "initrd" file, repacked back into new "Boot.img" and flashed, my phone still revert back to the old bootsplash (Eyesore-white colour Sony). It's still on stock bootsplash, did anyone knows why?

Splash Screens

delete, removed.

Splash Screens

***DISCLAIMER - FLASH AT OWN RISK - IF THIS BREAKS YOUR PHONE, DON'T BLAME ME***

Instructions:

You must have ADB installed
- Download the Splash Flasher v1.0 (it says it's for a differently sized screen but ignore that)
- Extract the downloaded SplashFlasher_1.0.zip
- Find the image you wish to use, and resize it to 1440 width, 2560 height
- Open the Splash Flasher folder and where it says "place-image-here" place your correctly sized image
- Double-Click to open the CLICK-HERE.bat and press any key
- You will see the option to convert .png, .jpg and .bmp
- Whatever format your image is, is the one you choose (you can have images for all 3 formats in the "place-image-here" folder but no more than one of each format)
- Once you choose 2, 3, or 4 to convert the image, open "place-image-here" folder and you will now see a file "custom.img"
- Rename the custom.img to splash1.nb0 (yes, change from.img to .nb0)
- Download this empty template I created - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24588232905721414
- Place the splash1.nb0 file you created into the .zip and now you are ready to change that blinding white splash screen

Code:

adb reboot bootloader

Code:

fastboot oem rebootRUU

Code:

fastboot flash zip NameOfFile.zip

Code:

fastboot reboot

I have created one that I took the plunge to test.
It is from the Unlocked HTC 10 Variant. (See attached image)

anyone tried this yet or attempted?

Phone boots to HTC splash after flashing ICE

Nevermind apparently it was waiting to load up the setup wizard. A mod can delete this thread at their leisure

Fierce XL stuck Alcatel Splash Screen

After years in dealing with Android and rooting I finally bricked my first phone. I have a Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL. It only boots to the Alcatel boot screen.

Revocery, or safe mode do NOT work.

Has anyone been able to recover from this?
