How long does it take to wipe data in recovery?

Hi all. I put my ze551ml into recovery mode and hit wipe data 55 my minutes ago. It has not yet completed. How long does this process take? This seems too long. Even wiping cache only too 15 minutes. Any ideas? Thanks.

Does Samsung account save alarms or wipe process failed?

I wiped my phone last night to config all the apps again because of some problems... all the apps installed again but i noticed that the clock app still has all my alarms from before the wipe procces...

So, is google syncing alarms on google account or the wipe process somehow failed? thanks

Decrypt internal sd after wipe

Short question here.

- I took the, as internal storage formatted, sd out of my Moto X Play
- Wiped to solve Marshmallow battery drain bug
- Put the sd back in
- aaand the phone doesn't recognize the card anymore.

Apparently an sd formatted as internal storage is encrypted to prevent data theft in case the phone is stolen. The key was apparently stored in '/data/misc/vold' and is therefore lost after the wipe.

I found a similar question here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto...atted-t3360169

Except of a few images from last week in vsco, everything on the card was either google photos or spotify data. So I have a backup of 95% of the stuff.

Is there a way to retrieve the key? Does Google back it up? NSA? Or to brute force? The encryption caught me really off guard so I wanted to shoot a last attempt before I format the card. :)

Thank you for your help guys. :good:

How to wipe a phone with corrupted storage

I've got a Sprint Galaxy Note 2 (SPH-L900) with storage issues. For a few months now, the internal storage will occasionally become corrupted to the point where it won't boot. I have to wipe, reformat, and reinstall to get it running again using TWRP. When it died today, I decided it was time to trade up to a newer model. However, when I try to reformat the internal storage as usual, TWRP claims that it can't access the internal storage at all. The regular partitions are all in the list of things on which I could operate, but they're all listed as being not present in the phone. Is there any way around this?

I'd like to sell the Note 2 for whatever I can get for it (with appropriate disclosure, of course), but I'm not about to let it go without convincing myself that my personal data has been completely overwritten. If TWRP can't see the internal storage, how can I reformat it? Might adb or some other computer-based solution have better luck? I've never run that before, except when flashing TWRP with Odin. The phone won't currently boot past the initial black & white "Samsung Galaxy Note II" screen, unless I'm booting into recovery.

FWIW, I've really enjoyed using the MoKee 6.0.1 ROM on this phone recently. It's a pity the phone died out from under it. It has several nerd-friendly features that my wife's stock S5 lacks, and which I'm sure my new Note 4 will also lack.

[Q] Change csc without data wipe

So, my location is ZTO but I've flashed BTU when I debranded my S7E. Turns out, Samsung Pay just launched here (but my phone doesn't support it... My guess would be the CSC).

But, as far as I know, changing CSC results in factory reset. Is there any way to flash ZTO without wiping all my data?

How to change CSC with no wipe?

I have been searching around and haven't fond any clear answers around these questions. I have an exynos S7 and I want to change my CSC to the XSA (Australia version)

My understanding is the way to change CSC is to flash an XSA stock rom with the CSC you want.

- If I flash the stock rom will it wipe my data? Do I need to have "repartition" unticked to keep my data?
- Do I have to flash a newer rom?
- In fact, can I just flash the XSA CSC without the rest of the rom?

Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Huawei P8 Official Marshmallow 6.0 [EMUI4.0.1] GRA-L09C B370 Eur Full [no wipe]

Can confirm it myself now

Have it downloaded and successfully installed via SDCARD Upgrade

[ROM][STOCK][EMUI 4.0][GRA-L09C432B370][Europe][Full Version]

No wipe!

1. Create a folder DLOAD in SD card root.
2. Unzip the file in DLOAD UPDATE.APP folder from the downloaded archive.
3. Disconnect your phone from your PC (if attached).
In the dialer fill in: # * # 2846579 # * # * then select Software Upgrade 4 in dialers *, -> Update SD card

Installed as mentioned.

Only new thing i see for now is that there is a Huawei ID option in Settings.

Power consumption is now added and different like the old days[emoji6]

How to save fingerprints and restore them after full wipe?

Ok, so this is the issue:
I flash ROMs all the time.
I want to connect my phone to my work email, which forces me to use a PIN to unlock. I can also use a fingerprint instead to unlock.
Since my girlfriend uses my phone from time to time, I don't want to make her add her fingerprints everytime I do a full wipe.
(why full wipe? to test other ROMs for example)

Is there a way to keep the fingerprints backed up somewhere?
thanks.

Does flashing CWM/TRWP wipe data?

I've found a Galaxy S6, but it's got a SIM-pin and phone pincode.
Now I wan't to flash a custom recovery so I could remove this pin and check if I could backtrack the user.

So I don't want the flash to remove the phone's data. Does flashing CWM or TWRP erases this data?

Verizon Galaxy Tab 10.1 v1 Factory Reset - will it wipe out cellular connection data?

Newbie concern post: I have an older Galaxy Tab 10.1 v1 (SCH-i905) which I use from work - which at this point is mostly just providing my kids a free wifi hotspot in our car. It's been a solid little unit, worked fine, but of late - it has started acting flakey - freezing up, dropping the hotspot randomly, app crashes etc.

Since my only MAIN reason for having it is the hotspot - I'm tempted to factory reset the tablet - but know it wipes out all the data. Since it is a work tablet (which has fallen off the grid and I don't want to draw attention that I still have it) I don't have access to managing the Verizon account the SIM is tied to. So I'm concerned that if I do the factory reset that it will mean I have to do something "official" to re-register the tablet with Verizon or something.

I know from my experience with phones - that I can pop out SIMs from one unlocked phone to another and I don't have to do any phone network setup when it is inserted into the new phone. I'm assuming that the factory reset will work the same way on a tablet - that it will just be reset - and when it reboots it will automatically detect the SIM, and connect to the cellular network on its own with no configuration or anything. BUT I don't know that for sure so wanted to ask.

Appreciate any thoughts!

How to wipe Cache and Dalvik with atock recovery

Hi,I bought my friend a Redmi Note 3 MTK.
His device has various problems like app force closes, fingerprint sometimes doesn't work etc.
Then i told him to download the stock rom and flash it with updater.
He did as i said.

His phone still has problems like force close, hanging and others.
I had such problem with another phone and i solved them with simple cache and dalvik wipe.
But now here in rn3,the stock recovery seems to be dumb and it doesn't do anything without the PC suite.

Now i need a way to flash the stock rom again with a full wipe of data, cache and dalvik.

What are my options?

I don't want to unlock the bootloader.as he will be mad at me for breaking Warrenty.
