TWRP: failed to mount \data, \system, \cache

Hey all,

Fairly new to custom roms, so hopefully I'm asking a legit question. My phone is a D855, currently on DU 10.3. I wanted to upgrade to the 10.4, doing a clean install, but I seemingly cannot wipe anything. TWRP (using 3.0.2) will give an error message: failed to mount \[...]. Interestingly, flashify labels the recovery as Stock, so maybe there is a connection.
I have been doing some googling/"xda-ing" and as it seems, going back to stock can help. BUT, for one, I hope that there's an easier way, and also I would like to know what's causing this issue. Maybe it can be avoided somehow? So maybe someone can help me with that? :)

Cheers.

Neer chrome Cache files

Recently I started receiving these errors when wiping Cache/Dalvik on TWRP: Error opening 'Data/Data/com.android.chrome/cache/Cache/(insert file names here)
I also get this error whenever I reboot: "There's an internal error problem with your device and it may be unstable until you do a factory data reset. (I fully wiped my device multiple times). Chrome doesn't work either. So I figured that I probably have to place the missing files into the empty cache folder. The problem is, I don't have those files. Can someone please share the missing files with me? The whole Cache folder would be perfect. Thanks in advance :good:

Is any way to get f2fs on cache partition?

Hi, 6p users.
I am using my fast nexus 6p.
But I want to use more fast performance.
So I try to format cache partition but failed :crying:
So I search about this problem and I found cm13 jgcaap's build support formatting f2fs on cache partition.
But I want to use ota support rom.
Is there any rom support formatting f2fs on cache partition with ota?
Thanks. (and sorry about my bad English.)

I have Ported a TWRP recovery on my device which is Spreadtrum SC7731C.
The operation is successfull and i am currently using the ported recovery.
But 1 thing mess me up.

The recovery is fine working after i flashed.
But when i try to Mount the /cache/ and /data/ partition it doesn't mount.
The System and Sdcard partition is fine working.

While this is happening, i cannot Wipe Data or Wipe Dalvik/cache with my device.

Even if im using this custom recovery it feels like my recovery is nothing.

How to wipe Cache and Dalvik with atock recovery

Hi,I bought my friend a Redmi Note 3 MTK.
His device has various problems like app force closes, fingerprint sometimes doesn't work etc.
Then i told him to download the stock rom and flash it with updater.
He did as i said.

His phone still has problems like force close, hanging and others.
I had such problem with another phone and i solved them with simple cache and dalvik wipe.
But now here in rn3,the stock recovery seems to be dumb and it doesn't do anything without the PC suite.

Now i need a way to flash the stock rom again with a full wipe of data, cache and dalvik.

What are my options?

I don't want to unlock the bootloader.as he will be mad at me for breaking Warrenty.
