Unable to get root process to work right

I am currently following below process for flashing and rooting my device.

1) open sp flash tool. select Scatter file from target.bin in stock rom.

2) connect phone without battery and select firmware upgrade to go back to stock.

3) once starting download, put battery in the phone.

4) use marshmallow update zip in cwm recovery on phone. rename it to update.zip and install from recovery.

5) factory reset the phone after update.

6) install k3 note manager to root the device. simply click root.

7) do another factory reset.

After this, technically, I should be on stock rom with Marshmallow update, and rooted device. But, after I finish this, I am facing below problems:
1) I am unable to apply that wifi patch to fix battery issue. It reboots to TWRP recovery, and in recovery, there is no option for update or any zip file to flash.
2) NVRAM data is lost. I can write that data, but no idea why it is getting lost in first place.
3) Even after root, most apps are unable to use root access.

Can you guys help me get the device to official rom with root? What step am I missing here?

Rooting - I'm on the right track?

Just want to be sure before I continue.

Right now I'm on MIUI STABLE 7.3(7.3.7.0(LHOMIDD), I still want to stay on stock ROM but have root access via SuperSU, in order to have this I will unlock my phone OFFICIALLY(will i need to flash China Developer Version?).
- then Flash Cofface TWRP
- then Flash SuperSU

Finished?

My concerns - I will not be able to run MIUI Stable?

Original shield tablet - Recent update has killed my right speaker?

Hi

I have the original shield tablet running 6.0.1 build number MRA58K.40827_726.6502 software version 4.2(24.3.68.8). I recently updated the software and for some reason the right (or bottom) speaker no longer works (headphones work tho). This tablet is like new, pristine condition and was sent out as a replacement as the old one was a fire hazard, so a bit gutted. I noticed in the recent change list there was something about sound, so I am hoping its software related. Any ideas if its possible for me to roll back the software without having to wipe the tablet? Thanks

System UI has stopped notification stuck in loop right after Nvidia logo.

I have read several threads on similar problems but none that are the same as mine.
I bought my shield tablet (16gb wifi) off Amazon so I can't really tell you much about it's exact specs. All I know is that I was told that only early manufacturer runs had rooting and OTG issues, and that newer runs had OTG out of the box.
Mine doesn't have OTG enabled, and it would not root with most of the common self installing root apps. So I believe it is an older version.
I have been installing all Nvidia updates as the update notification comes up on my tablet except for the latest one released a couple days ago. (waiting for WiFi to down load)
I was running marvel future fight at the time my tablet did a forced shutdown for a low battery.
Later I plugged it in to charge for a few minutes. When I first plugged it in I got the normal warning image of an empty battery telling me I could not boot yet.
I waited several minutes and tried to boot, but the boot process took an extensive amount of time.
But the real issue is that now I have read several threads on similar problems but none that are the same as mine.

Later I plugged it in to charge for a few minutes. When I first plugged it in I got the normal warning image of an empty battery telling me I could not boot yet.
I waited several minutes and tried to boot, but the boot process took an extensive amount of time.
But the real issue is that now, every time I boot it up, once the Nvidia logo disappears instantly before the lock screen or anything else can come up, the notification that one of two processes have stopped comes up. Those being System UI, and Cellular Data.
This would normally be no problem but the instant I click OK the same warning pops back up. It is just stuck in the same loop, process stops, I hit OK and repeat for as long as my patients lasts and I try rebooting...
(why a 16gb WiFi only model even needs the cellular data process is beyond me or why it would prevent a complete boot... )

Any way I started research and found the power + volume down bootloader option.
It took me several tries to figure out how to even get the timing right for that to work. But once there it was no help.

First option for Factbook gave this result :
Cold booting Linux
Then the Nvidia logo, and the same system UI has stopped warningtI have read several threads on similar problems but none that are the same as mine.

First option for Fastboot
It says cold booting Linux the displays the Nvidia logo, but up comes the same warning of one of those stopped processes that will pop up as fast as I can click OK, for as long as I will click ok...

I tried the recovery option and that gave me the error of no command with the dead android with the warning sign popping out of his insides.

Just hit the reboot option and as of right now it did not boot... Will try holding down the power for manual reboot. As it will not power on normally now.
Manual reboot to the options again and going to try the power off option.

I am thinking that I might be able to fix this by flashing from a pic... But I wouldn't know as I have never gotten into that stuff before.

Cellular data stopped is still coming up on boot attempt... Only other option I know to try is open the menu back up and try the recovery again or maybe on the of chance hitting continue might do something different that changes things up and let's it finish booting.
I assume it is not actually completing the boot cycle as I cannot bring up the soft keys nor does the lock screen come up.
(don't get me started on the evils of soft keys. )

Anyway any help anyone can give would be great!

Should I buy the 6P right now?

So, I was wondering, is it worth buying the Nexus 6P right now or is there a better Nexus or other device on it's way?

My requirements are basically just CyanogenMod for a long time.

Can't get M8 back to stock? Can't Find the right ROM?

I've been trying to turn my M8 back to box factory settings with little luck. Most of the guides I've seen say you should relock your bootloader (done) then run RUU with stock room.

The main issue I have with this is that I have no idea what ROM to use. My phone carrier is Three (United Kingdom).

I've tried following this guide HERE but I get this error:

Code:

D:\Users\Chris\Desktop\RUU>htc_fastboot flash zip RUU.zip
sending 'zip'... (53965 KB) OKAY
sending time = 2.472 secs
writing 'zip'... (bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
(bootloader) signature checking...
(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) zip info parsing...
(bootloader) checking model ID...
(bootloader) checking custom ID...
FAIL42 custom id check fail
FAILED (remote: 42 custom id check fail)
Execution time is 6(s)

Can anyone help? I've followed like 5 different methods, but most of the time I am not sure what version of file I need as my phone carrier is Three (United Kingdom) and isn't normally listed.

Here is what my FastBoot screen says:

Code:

M8_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-1.25.21331147A1.06G
OPENDSP-v48.2.2-0564-m8974_f0.1211
OS-
eMMC-boot 2048MB
JAN 16 2015, 18:54:06.0

I do not think I have TWRP anymore because when I use Quickboot app to boot into recovery it just takes me into the Fastboot version rather than TWRP.

Thanks

Is my method of getting 6.0 Marshmallow on the S3 right?

Hey! :D

So I want 6.0 on my S3 (to make it cooler and pokemon go bois) and I am scared Im gonna brick my phone. I downloaded this: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9300 (the latest one) and I put that onto my SD card (DCIM folder). Then I downloaded GApps: https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps (lastest version, 6.0 nano). What else do I need and how do I get it? If not, should i boot into recovery mode and just click cm13? Thanks in advance :D

Hello everyone! | LAG FIX RIGHT HERE!!! | NO EFFORT NEEDED |

Yooooooo everyone,

So recently I started a thread which indicated the AUX problem and lag problems, funny enough lag didn't bother me as much as the AUX cord problem but I found a fix for the lag. The improvements are beyond amazing and apps such as instagram showed to have a 17% increase in loading times.

*I know that some people may already know about this as this fix has been around for many years, since honeycomb to be exact, but this is to he'll people that didn't already know*

All that said! Let's get this going!

So firstly unlock "developer options"
Scroll down until you see a option called "Force GPU 2D rendering" switch it on.

Enable "disable hw overlays" as well and after this, you will see an improvement I garentuee.

Oh and btw there isn't any side effects/negative effects of this option, everything is safe and battery actually occurred to improve by 2% which lead to maybe 4 minutes more usage time! All in all a fix for what the Z5 was originally bought for.

If you guys need any information on the switch or anything at all don't hesitate to ask below!

Love you all! And hope you enjoy the z5 compact like we all wanted it for x

- Seb

Screen Issues: Right side of screen lags

After using my Pixel daily for 6 months (got the first batch, pre December 25th) and having next to no issues with it (wifi strength sucks, even with Xceed kernel, but it's better than it was), half of my screen decided it wanted to go goofy. I was using it two days ago and everything was working fine, I used it yesterday morning for a few minutes and then plugged it into the Google charger that came with it and let it sit on my couch for a few hours while it was charging. I got on the bus, and pressed the power button to wake the screen and nothing happened. Thinking I had it turned off I held the power button for a few second, and still nothing. So I held it for 30 seconds and when it brought up the bootloader warning the right side of the screen was glitching, same thing happened on the Google logo, boot animation, and continued into Android. I powered it off, hoping it would go away but it didn't. The slight glitch then turned into static "snow" which will then change sporadically based on what I'm doing on the tablet. That area of the screen still works perfectly because touch input works, and when I take a screenshot and view that area of the screen it shows up just as it should. It seems like there is an overlay on the right side of the screen that won't go away. Since it happens from the moment you turn it on makes me think it's a hardware issue but the fact that the screen itself still works perfectly makes me think it's a software issue. I haven't flashed the stock ROM back on it yet or locked it backup yet since I don't have a type c to type a adapter with me, it's still under warranty but I wanted to see if you guys could help me fix it before I sent it back.

TL; DR
