I'm on Pure Nexus at the moment, latest version. I'm running elementalX, and I'm NOT satisfied with this phone. This device lags continuously, it often get very hot, and some games lag badly, like for instance Pokémon go. So, what is a good kernel that I can try to have a smooth performance without lags? Or maybe I should set elementalx in a certain way?

Problem with snapchat and some kernels
Hi I was wondering if anyone has problems with Snapchat being slow on some kernels (mainly stock) I have to either flash 777 kernel or xceed kernel to get it to work correctly. So if anyone knows a reason to why this happens I would like to know! Thanks

Bootloop from hell - messing around with kernels
Hi folks,
I had my G920P on PB6 base, with TWRP from here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/spri...amwin-t3335260, and installed TeamSPR 3.6 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/spri...om-v3-t3380648). All was running dandy.
Then one day, I flashed @tdhite 's SkyHigh kernel (v3.2, can be grabbed here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/spri...ernel-t3350673). All was smooth.
Then I wanted to revert back to the default kernel that shipped with TeamSPR ROM, so extracted the boot.img from the ROM zip, and used Flashify (got latest from the Play Store) to flash it. This is where things went downhill. :(
Upon rebooting, and entering recovery, nothing happened. I don't recall what happened at this point (whether I rebooted, or went to flash SkyHigh zip again, because I was panicking?), but upon attempting to reboot, I entered this bootloop from hell, in which the ROM would not get past the "samsung" screen (I am assuming the equivalent of the Sprint LTE screen, since the TeamSPR ROM replaces that with the international screen :good:).
In desperation, I booted into recovery, made a nandroid backup, and took out everything I wanted out of the device.
Then, I went here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/spri...tore-t3366862/
got the latest (PF4) TAR (yes, MD5 checked out), wiped the phone from TWRP (system/data/cache/internal storage), and ODIN-ed that.
According to ODIN, all went without a hitch.
When the phone rebooted, it went into stock recovery, and it displayed a "applying update" message, followed by "erasing...", and then "applying update". And then, abruptly rebooted itself.
Bootup now went to the Sprint logo, and then "optimizing apps" green/teal screen (it optimizes 32 apps, for whatever it's worth). Almost instantly after the 32nd app is "optimized", the phone reboots again, and this bootloop restarts.
If I broke the loop by going to recovery (still stock recovery at this point), I am greeted again with with "applying update" message, but then I get the dreadful android with an exclamation point sign on top, undoubtedly having failed to apply whatever updated it was trying to do.
Pressing the power button at this stage, gets me to the stock recovery.
Here, I wiped cache, and did a factory reset. Both yielded no different behavior upon reboot from what has been outlined post-ODIN flash.
(I have tried versions 3.10.6 and 3.11.1 of ODIN, by the way - same result).
I got the latest TWRP available (link posted here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/spri...tore-t3366862/), wiped system/cache/data/internal storage, and installed TeamSPR ROM (but not their 3.6 OTA). Rebooted the device, but the device goes into bootloop again on the flashing "Samsung" screen, so back to square 1.
At this point, I am not sure what else to try. The phone is a paperweight at this point, and I am really hoping for it not to remain as such.
Ideas?
Thanks in advance!

[KERNEL]Marshmallow and Lollipop kernels
Below you will find a couple of kernels that I put together for various roms and purposes. Most of these are now included into my other builds, but I thought that I would share them here as well, in case they are useful on any other roms. You are welcome to use and abuse these kernels for any purpose that you see fit!
It started when I wanted to add some governors to a kernel, and it didn't work very well. However, praise God, I learned a lot of things and was able to add the governors in! From there I played around with various sources and have put together some developer kernels as well (including kexec and other tools). None of my work is purely original, I typically beg or borrow from other kernel developers by looking at their source. Please feel free to use any of the materials here if it will help you in any way (including adding to a different rom).
Feel free to comment if you have tried them on another rom, successful or not, or to leave feedback on these kernels as well. These can be flashed on any JF variant of phone, but I have only personally tested them on JFLTETMO. Some have been reported working on JFLTEAIO, and i9505.

Awesome Xposed-Compatible Kernels For Stock Lolipop ROMs (i.e. Cloudy)?
I'm on Cloudy. I like using Xposed modules *most notably, G3 Tweaksbox and Greenify's Boost Mode
I was going to use Xceed... but I see Xposed isn't supported for it.
Does that mean they really shouldn't be used together, or just that the developer of Xceed isn't going to help fix issues for people who do use Xposed?
And if they shouldn't, what's my best options for a good kernel?
Thanks!
- Andi

Don't use custom kernels if you want to avoid idle battery drain
Hi everyone,
I recently bought this phone and started using with custom kernel (Androplus and zach) which resulted in huge battery drain in idle like 1%/h. Then I tried everything like amplify, greenfly etc., but still i was not able to solve because there is battery usage which is not accounted in chart. After researching and I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z5-c...5#post67567755 where users from Z5 also had same issues because we are using same custom kernels and they found the fix by using stock kernel using beta8 kernel repack tool. I tried using my kernel and it worked as I lost only 1% for 12 hours. So if any one is facing battery drain issues with custom kernels then switch to stock kernel using beta8 patch. Seems like sony kernel is aggressive with core control and driver management which is needed for idle batter drain while screen off.
I'm attaching the stock kernel which I used in my mobile that is from .224 fw (India) patched with beta 8 for DM-Verity, Sony RIC, TWRP and DRM Fix.
For rooting(2.74beta), flash this in TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps...v2-05-t2868133
For Xposed(ARM64-SDK 23), flash this in TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpos...posed-t3388268
And wipe Dalvik and cache before then reboot.
Hope my thread helps some and if it did then please don't forget to say thanks.

Custom Lollipop ROMs that work with stock Lollipop kernels.
Good day!
I'm one of those ZF5 owners who won their bootloader-"defective" phones out of the ASS-US Trash Lottery. Due to this problem, we are faced with an issue that keeps us from unlocking our bootloaders and enjoying the life that most of you enjoy --- the life of having a non-stock ROM.
I approach you all with a hopeless heart. Is there any available custom ROM out there that will boot with stock ASS-US kernels? I've tried some, but they all had issues:
AOSP 5.0.2 by tank0412
PZ-SleekStock ROM v4 by PaletroxZ
Any info is appreciated. (Better yet, if a fix for freezing bootloaders comes out, please tell me as well!)

- No support for dual-SIM functionality (I need both SIMs).
- Vibrator not working (It's not what you think), though not necessarily a problem.
PZ-SleekStock ROM v4 by PaletroxZ
- Without its default Borets kernel (custom), it's basically just stock ROM with a custom boot animation.
Any info is appreciated. (Better yet, if a fix for freezing bootloaders comes out, please tell me as well!)
what are some good aosp MM Roms with good kernels?
