Make Tasker restart GPS when fix is lost

Hey there,

I am having some problems with GPS of my phone. Sometimes I lose my GPS fix, typically when driving in an unknown area and relying on satnav.
What helps is to disable high precision location in quick settings and re-enable it.
So I thought this could be automated. If fix is lost, disable and enable GPS again.
Secure settings can do that, but I have problems getting a Tasker profile reacting properly to that state.
I tried querying the %LOCACC variable, (LOCACC < 5) but that didn't do it.
Any ideas?

Cheers, toskala

Tasker Spotify Auto Play help

Background: I am trying to turn my Nexus 7 (2012) into an Android auto type thing. I saw the headunit app on these forums, but i don't want to rely on my phone to get it working. Also saw the android auto mimic, but I like using the stand alone google maps more.

When i turn on my ignition aka usb power, I would like my spotify to automatically start playing. I have an app installed called "no lock" so I won't have a lockscreen and "auto sleeper" which sleeps my tablet when i turn my ignition off.

So far this tasker opens up Spotify when connected to usb but that's it. It doesn't start playing.

This is what i've done, the original instructions I copied it used headphones plugin instead of my usb connected.

STEP 1

• Open your Tasker application.
• Select the “Profiles” tab in the top left.
• Click the “+” icon in the bottom right.
• Click on “State“.
• Select “Hardware“.
• Select “usb connected” and leave the settings as they are and press back.

STEP 2

Now we will setup the task (actions) that will occur when the profile is triggered.

Loading Spotify
• Press the “New Task +” that appeared.
• Let’s name it “Spotify Plug Play“.
• Click the “+” icon at the bottom to add an action.
• Select the “App” category.
• Select “Load App“. Find Spotify and select it.
• Press back.

STEP 3

Add a Wait action.
(This is to make sure the app is fully loaded before pressing play.)
• Click the “+” at the bottom.
• Select the “Task” category.
• Select “Wait“.
• Set Seconds to 5 or which you prefer,

STEP 4

Raise the Volume
• Click the “+” icon at the bottom to add another action.
• Select the “Audio” category.
• Select “Media Volume” and set Level to your desired volume.
• Press back.

STEP 5

Getting Spotify to play.
• Click the “+” icon at the bottom.
• Select the “System” category.
• Select “Send Intent”
• Set these fields:
– Action: com.spotify.mobile.android.ui.widget.PLAY
– Cat: None
– Package: com.spotify.music
– Target: Broadcast Reciever

Tasker auto-sync problem

Dear Tasker users,

I'm going crazy! :(
I recently created a function to turn on wifi and turn off mobile data when there is a near wifi network and viceversa.
If I launch the app manually it works fine but if I wait it to work it doesn't.
I controlled the timings in the preferences but the Service Check Milliseconds is 1500 (when display is on), Wifi Scan Seconds are 120, All checks (when display is off) are 240 seconds.
It seems that the service does not work in background both when phone is locked and when is unlocked.
It works only sometimes (i can't understand exactly when)

The function is:

Profile: Known WiFi (3)
Stato: Near WIFI [ SSID:* MAC:* Functionality:* Minimum activation signal:4 Channel:0 Alternate Wifi:eek:ff ]
Start: WiFi And Data (2)
A1: Delete Notification [ Title: Warn does not exist:eek:ff ]
A2: If [ %WIFI ~ off ]
A3: Run Shell [ Command:svc wifi enable Timeout (Secondi):0 Use Root:eek:n Save Result In: Save Errors In: Save Result In: ]
A4: Wait till [ MS:0 Seconds:5 Minutes:0 Hours:0 Days:0 ] If [ %WIFI ~ on ]
A5: End If
A6: If [ %WIFII ~ *CONNECTION* ]
A7: LED Notification [ Title:WiFi Connected Text:%WIFII Icon:hd_device_access_network_wifi Number:1 Color:Green Evaluate:17 Priority:3 Actions:(1) ]
A8: Notification [ Titolo:%WIFII Testo: Icona:hd_device_access_network_wifi Numero:0 Permanente:eek:ff Priorità:3 ]
A9: Run Shell [ Comando:svc data disable Timeout (Secondi):0 Use Root:eek:n Save Result In: Save Errors In: Save Results In: ]
A10: Else
A11: Run Shell [ Command:svc data enable Timeout (Secondi):0 Use Root:eek:n Save Result In: Save Errors In: Save Result In: ]
A12: LED Notification [ Title:Mobile ON Text:%CELLID Icon:hd_content_import_export Number:1 Color:Red Evaluate:1 Priority:3 ]
A13: Run Shell [ Command:svc wifi disable Timeout (Seconds):0 Use Root:eek:n Save Result In: Save Errors In: Save Result In: ]
A14: End If

My android version is 6.0.1.

The scanning time (when is locked) is 120sec and the service check is 1500 msecs.

Could you please help me?

do not disturb with tasker

I set two time profiles to control dnd setting automatically for the night.

First I set it to priority. Second profile then resets it to none as that removes the priority icon from toolbar. I realised that all sounds are gone after that.

If I set it to all, priority icon stays in status bar.

I tried also to do just a single profile with ending time, but that also left priority icon to the bar.

Is there a way to get priority mode to work with tasker?

[Help] Tasker keeps setting dummu alarms

Recently my Tasker (at least I believe culprit is Tasker) keeps setting dummy alarms, few minutes from current time. Alarms do not sound or show in Clock. They only show on Status Bar or if some app displays next alarm. Dummy alarms dissappear on their own also.

Not very serious, but annoying...
