Cell Standby Battery Drain - Verizon

So I recently switched from MetroPCS to Verizon. The day I switched my battery died twice as fast. Cell standby being the problem according to the battery stats. 2nd day, same exact thing. So I did a factory reset. Then the next day the same exact thing. This did not happen on MetroPCS. Also, it seems to only be a problem when WiFi is on, but not connected for most of the day. Which is strange, because I don't see how your carrier would make that a problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Fixed this?

SM-G930U Unlocked USA model keeps restarting after cell activation.

My new SM-G930U keeps activation its self with the carrier (Sprint) and then says it needs to restart, over and over again. I disabled the Sprint apps that got installed probably used to activate cell service and the phone is fine.

I want to know if this is a know Samsung issue or something. I was no able to move my data and my way through Samsung process it restarts. I had to remove Sim card to allow it to restore my data first then add the sim card after I disabled Sprint apps.

Has anyone had this issue?

Poor Data and Cell Reception S5

I have an S5 that when next to 3 other phones in my house receives no signal (data or cell). I have to walk completely outside and its still spotty. Could it have bad antennas? and if so is it just the wire antennas or is there another piece that receives signals?

Past history: stopped using this phone probably 8-12 months ago because of this problem and now just did a factory reboot and re register on the network. and up until the factory reboot the phone wouldn't even register itself on any network or connect to any service even though it showed signal bars. It would either start to make a call and long pause and hang up or just go straight to an "emergency calls only" pop up. When looking on the about phone and status page there wee no registration on the status page.

Cell Phone Video Recording Length Issues

I just purchased a Moto X Pure (32GB model with U1 PNY 128 GB microsd) and need to use it to record long videos. I tried the 4k option and I only get about 10 minutes and the video size is 3.79 GB roughly before it ends recording and states "video recording size reached, stopped recording." I then tried 1080p on the phone and I get around 32 minutes which is roughly 3.79 GB and it reports the same message.

This leads me to believe its either a software issue with the default camera app or something about the 4 GB limit on FAT files. Anyone have any ideas on how to increase video recording lengths? I'm hoping there's some type of app when the video file max is reached, it creates a new file and continues recording. I plan to record video of my backpacking trip and will be bringing ten 128 gb microSD cards with me.

Cell Standby Suddenly Draining Battery (CM13 RR)

Last night I had a problem with my home wifi (phone couldn't connect--Authentication error). I rebooted the router and it connected. Then I noticed an hour or two later that my phone was warm and the battery drained about 20%. I charged it fully and went to bed. Six hours later and the battery was completely dead.

Cell Standby is using 60%. I wiped the dalvik and cache in recovery and it's still using 60%.

The phone is on CM13 RR (6/22).

Cell standby and battery drain?

So my S7 Edge currently doesn't have a carrier attached to it. (Using another phone temporarily). I'm getting high battery usage on the following 4 things:

Cell standby - 34%
Device idle - 28%
Android System - 23%
Android OS 13%

The phone was recently wiped, I haven't put anything on it yet. its been on battery for 7 hrs and its at 82%. Does that sound abnormally high? I have turned mobile data off too so not even sure why the cell is dying to use any power.

Am I Dead? (Losing Cell Svc)

For the past few weeks I've been losing cell service - a lot! With the phone at home where I normally get 3-4 bars, signal will suddenly cut out & I'll get the warning notification. BUT sometimes I seem to lose the phone part of the signal & the phone seems to have data - though even then it will often fail even when it says there's a data connection. (I hope this makes sense to someone.) Sometimes it reconnects on its own, but usually I have to search for network & re-register. And about 10% of the time it fails to register on the first or second tries. Variations on all this happen multiple times per day & I probably have any cell service for a total of 5-10 hrs on any given day. (But once in a while I do get a good day with almost no outage)

At worst, I could live with completely unreliable voice service for a while as I'm aiming to buy the upcoming new Nexus. The bigger problem is that I do need semi-reliable data - and when cell cuts out Cell Standby battery usage skyrockets.

*I'm on Wind Mobile in Canada so cell service is never perfect but this is WAY beyond normal failings.
*Wind has tested the network & towers at my apt & say all is 100%
*I've replaced the SIM card.
*I'm stock 6.01, not even rooted.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My Way of Turning Cell Radio off When Wifi Connected

I'm sure this has been done with Tasker etc, but here is my way of turning off the cell radio when connected to my home wifi. Saw just shy of 6 hours screen on time today for the first time so thought I'd share.

When connected to home/work wifi, it turns off the cell radio, thereby relying on Wifi for Project Fi calls and texts. When leaving home/work wifi range, cell radio is re-enabled.

Download and install Automate: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...automate&hl=en

Open it and click on the people icon on the top right corner of the app. Search Project Fi Airplane Mode. This is my "flow", download it then back out to the main screen.

Click "Project Fi Home Wifi=Airplane Mode". Click the pen icon on top, then Flowchart. Here we will change it from my network to yours. Click on the "when wifi connected" box. When you're connected to your home or work wifi network, select pick a network box and select it. Click done Click check mark on top. Install the permissions listed on this screen. Click start. Enjoy some nice battery savings Project Fi users!
