Issues installing RemixOS 3...

I have been trying to install RemixOS 3 on my Intel Cherry Trail tablet, but it is not going well. (Note: Tablet is a Teclast X16 Power, which has an X8700 CPU, and uses the standard Cherry Trail chipset for almost all features.)

First issue is that the RemixOS installer seems to only want to create a boot menu entry in the BCD for Remix OS if there is only 1 other entry in it. (I have tried installing it on a few Windows systems, and if there is already more than 1 BCD entry, the installer doesn't seem to create one.) In the case of Windows 10 (which is currently on my Cherry Trail tablet), Windows creates multiple boot menu entries (regular boot, debug/safe mode, recovery, ...) during it's install process, so there will always be more than 1.

I finally tried using a BCD editor to remove all entries except the standard boot, and I did get the Remix OS installer to create an entry. Even then, it seemed to corrupt the BCD so that the Metro style touchscreen menu did not work (only text mode), and I had to do a Windows recovery operation to get it to boot again.

When I did get the Tablet to boot, the Wifi didn't wok. (This seemed strange because the tablet uses a RealTec RTL8723BS chip for wireless LAN, and the RealTec LAN chips are pretty standard in PCs these days. ) Because I couldn't get the tablet to connect to my network, I wasnt able to try many of the other features.

NOTE: I was able to get RemixOS 3 to install on my Dell XPS12 Ultrabook PC/Tablet. That system is running Windows 8.1 (instead of Windows 10), and most of the RemixOS features seemed to work OK (including Wifi). I did miss the fact that RemixOS doesn't seem to support screen rotation (like other Android ROMs), and the RemixOS also doesn't support home screen widgets. (That seems like a big over-sight to me.)

I am a big fan of Android, and I do like the general direction that the RemixOS development is going in. I would suggest that the development team work on adding support for screen rotation, and widgets. I also think it would be great if they worked on a start menu that is somewhat more like the Windows 10 style start menu that PheonixOS came up with. All-in-all... good stuff. I just think they have a little bit further to go on the development.

Installed RemixOS stucks at the flashing display but boot up in debug mode

Hi everyone:

I install RemixOS on hard drive following some directions found on XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/remi...d-hdd-t3316527) to installs the system directly to hard drive without dual boot.

What i did was the following: After pressing TAB on Resident mode, i removed everything after "quiet". Then i put INSTALL=1 and then format to ext4 to use all the disk space.

The installer finalizes without errors, but when i restart and choose normal init at GRUB, the system stucks on flashing screen, then never enters to graphic env.

The things changes when i boot in debug mode. The system boot up completely but to console. I know how to use Linux, but this distro its very different to an standard one, so i need some directions to diagnose and solve the problem.

In debug mode, when i grep dmesg for error or warning nothing is found. All the devices are detected and aparently installed.

The only thing that got my attention when i installed Remix was the following messages:
- intel_powerclamp: Intel powerclamp does not run on family 6 model 15
- intel_rapl: driver does not support CPU family 6 model 15

But these msgs i suppose that are normal because is an old CPU that not support all the features that the driver does, right?

Anyway, these are the specs of the intallation:

- RemixOS version: B2016071501.
- CPU: Intel Dual Core E2160 1.68Ghz
- MB: Foxconn 45CMX
- GPU: Intel integrated on MB. I don't know the exact model
- HDD: 60Gb SATA

Any ideas to solve this problem?
Many thanks in advance.

Is there any version of RemixOS that works with XPosed?

Looking for a version of RemixOS that works with XPosed, 32 or 64bit. Any links to a thread/post/guide would be so helpful.

Thanks,

Can I install RemixOS as the only one OS on my laptop?

As the title said, my laptop was very old and running Windows very slow. So I want to use RemixOS to replace my Windows.
Is thaa possible?

Any issues with the latest RemixOs 2.0.401 and 2.0.402 Updates?

Yesterday, I updated RemixOs with the latest 2.0.401 OTA and when the system was booted up after the update,
*Neither my keyboard nor tochpad were working
I set up the mouse and managed to type the password with the onscreen keyboard
After accessing RemixOs,
*Keyboard wasn't working
*Tochpad wasn't working
*Wifi or ethernet wasn't working,so can't access internet
*GL Renderer was fallen back to Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe(llvm 3.5, 256bits) from Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 5500(Bradwell GT2)

So i backed up the data.img and booted up again with a new data.img, then everything worked as expected, except wifi.

And today,I again updated RemixOs to 2.0.402 and after booting up the same things i mentioned above happened.
But this time they were gone after i rebooted again.now everything work fine, including wifi :)

I noticed another thing,
When things had gone wrong, 'Serial number' in 'About' section was something like this, which seemed normal ---> 1234abc5678def90ghijkl
But after the reboot, when things are working fine my 'Serial number' is CND50618R6,which seems strange than it was before

#thought this will be usefull for devs.wanted to send a bug report with the 'Not working' state, but it wasn't possible since internet wasn't working.

ANYONE faced the same problem with the latest OTA?
