I might be dumb but how do I root z2?

So I have ownedd a z2 for a year and a half now and still haven't rooted it. I want to do it now as I have time to do it. but how do I do it? All the tutorials I have found is outdated and im to much of a noob to find out how to do it myself.

I would really appreciate it if anyone here would be kind enough to tell me some steps on what I need to do. :)

Phone might be getting old lol

I'm on stang5.0 rom. ss loader...
This morning Im having issues turning on Bluetooth. Also the phone is going back to old ways and not letting me do anything with the sdcard.
Also I can't seem to be able to download from the net such as PDF or images or anything it just come back and says failed to download. Not sure what's going on.
Would like to see if anyone has ideas before I wipe and reinstall ROM.
I'll also be in a pickle bc I can't backup titanium to sdcard bc of the write issue to sdcard.

Guys, Now I am on CM 11 and it gives a really bad performance on Gaming and battery life. And also my nexus heats like a heater. (Means too much hot . lol) could you guys plz tell me which Rom has best performace even it (KK,LL, orMM) Or tell me which Roms and kernal Combination Are you Using Now !!!!

Just unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP and root etc. on MXP all working.
SD card is now not seen by phone and not when connected to pc by cable. Card works in pc and moto g 2014.
Sandisk Extreme 32GB
I've searched but cannot find anything.

Just tried connecting it using an OTG + adapter and it is recognized but still not when in the SD holder in the phone????

Still no fix. Factory data reset. Reformatted SD card to exFAT. Still not seen.????
Can't see this as a hardware problem. Please, anyone...

Phone sent to repairer in Manchester (UK) who said they could fix it; had it for nearly a month. Finally said it was not repairable. Sent it back boot looping and flat battery. I managed with fastboot to restore stock ROM then rooted again. So now it is as before, working correctly but no SD card recognition. The pins in the reader look unbent.
Do I give up on this?? Is there a software fix or command I can try? Mainboard damage?
It all seemed to happen when I unlocked rooted etc.
