Every time u try to underclock the CPU as soon as I leave the app the sliders go back to where they were originally. Even after applying on boot. Am I doing something wrong?

how to underclock the htc10?
I am overall satisfy with the phone battery however I would like to underclock it so that it can conserve battery. This phone flies and I bet underclocking it by .5 ghz wouldnt hurt performance. Does anybody know if its possible to do so?
