Note 4 Boot Animation/Carrier ID

I have a Sprint Galaxy Note 4, rooted on the stock ROM, latest Marshmallow update. I want to remove or modify the name of the carrier ID in the notification tray as it persistently reads "Boost Mobile". I want to either remove this entirely or change the text to read something else. I have tried modifying the file that contains the ID "Boost Mobile" found in "device/carrier/chameleon.xml", and it works only for a few minutes after a reboot until the network tries to rewrite the file (it literally deletes the file and contacts the network to try to verify the contents of the "modified" file, then rewrites the file from scratch and reboots my phone into recovery mode, then updates the PRL and wallah- back to "Boost Mobile" in my notification tray). Additionally, I have tried apps that are supposed to edit either the file or spoof the ID tag but they don't work for me for some reason.

Also, I wish to change my boot animation (or alter it with a custom one that I have on standby and have tried with no luck to replace the stock Samsung boot animation with). On other phones, this has never been a problem for me. I usually just use Boot Animations from the . This hasn't worked for me either... I have already removed the Boost Mobile carrier boot animation by just deleting the file in "system/media/". That worked for the carrier boot animation but I've read that removing or changing the stock Samsung boot animation is a bit more complicated than just renaming or deleting a few files.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
