New Tab 4 owner. SM-T230NU Root?

Hey guys, new Tab 4 owner here. Currently my Tab 4 has Android 4.4.2 on it. If I run the update, will I still be able to root the tablet? Would the instructions be different?

Is there a CM version for the tab 4?
