Honor 5x : What is B151 & B331? (Firmware)

Hi everyone, I have a question about the Honor 5x.

About 2 months ago, I bought the Honor 5x. A few weeks ago, I decided to install Cyanogen Mod 13 onto it. Attempting to install the newest version, I could not, due to having the KIW-L24 B151 firmware. Now I don't quite understand this. Everyone buys the same phone, why is it that some come with B151, and B331? I guess my main question is can they be changed considering they are just firmware.

On the CyanogenMod Honor 5x thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/hono...tly-t3344499); it's stated that you must have the latest firmware to install the newer versions of CyanogenMod. In order to do this, you must go back to stock, and update to Huawei's Android 6.0 firmware. Unfortunately, they have not released firmware for the B151 model. Therefore I cannot upgrade the firmware, meaning I cannot update CyanogenMod.

So in conclusion, can I upgrade from B151 to B331? If not, is there a firmware update for B151 that will allow me to update CyanogenMod?
(If you're wondering why I'm so itchy to update, it's because the fingerprint scanner isn't working in the version I'm using. (July 18th)

Thank you for your time!
