I just got my Chromecast Audio and it's brilliant.
So I was wondering, if it would be possible to throw out half the electronics from the Q and install a Chromecast Audio inside the Q, connected to the Q's internal amp. The amp has its own board, so maybe with just the power supply, the amp board and some soldering this could be achieved.
I know it's a bit of a stretch, but it would be awesome.
I'm currently using my Q with CM and the BubbleUpnp app which works great, but the Chromecast is just much easier to use. I have an old Q lying around with busted HDMI, so no way to install anything. If someone has any guidelines as to how to achieve this, I'll test it out.
