UK - EE If I network-unlock a phone, can I install unlocked firmware?

I am afraid the title pretty much sums it up :)
I bought an S7 Edge locked on EE - if I use an IMEI/Network unlock code to use my card (vodafone), can I also use ODIN to install the official Samsung europe/unlocked firmware, or will my phone get 'relocked' on the network afterwards?
