Is there a downside to an LTE version used only for wifi?

I just got a Tab S 10.5. The listing said "wifi only tablet" but what I got was a tablet for US Cellular. I'll never use the cellular connection and I don't see a way to get rid of the icon displaying the missing SIM card. I see there's no CM version for the LTE model so if I wanted a different ROM, CM isn't an option (not sure if there are ROMs for the LTE model or not.) Is there any other downside to having an LTE version but only using it for wifi? Is there a setting that will get rid of the "insert SIM card" message?
