G850M Question

Hey folks. I bought a G850M on eBay as I wanted an exynos version that also supported the AT&T 4G bands and it seemed to be the only fit. The phone arrived and I am unable to get it to connect to AT&T at all. There were a couple of strange things I noticed about it and wanted to see if any other G850M owner can confirm for me before I return it needlessly.

Isn't this device supposed to be originally sold by Vodafone in a Spanish speaking country? On first boot, the default language was set to "English (United States)". Even stranger than that is that the default APN options contain 3 AT&T APNs and one TracFone APN. If this phone was sold by Vodafone, why would these be in here as default values on a wiped device?

I've worked with AT&T support numerous times with it and they advised me that the phone might be defective as they did not see it reaching out to even attempt to register on the AT&T network despite the fact that it detected the SIM and the SIM works fine on other phones.

My guess is that this might have an unoriginal firmware installed that does not contain the proper drivers for the cell radio. It was sold as an open box item which further makes me suspect this issue.

If any of you G850M owners can confirm if what I saw on the wiped device is the same as what you saw or not, that would be very helpful. Also if you know of any way to validate if the proper firmware is installed, that would be very helpful as well. I'd prefer reflashing proper firmware to get it working over returning it and paying for shipping in addition to a hefty restocking fee.

Thanks!
