ADB server is out of date. killing... *daemon started successfully*

I saw one of these threads from 2011 on here, the advice seemed a bit outdated/ not applicable?... But yeah I'm supposing this would require something simple altered that I'm not aware about?

I installed ADB on my laptop

typed in 'ADB devices', and the above was what I got.
